1Before the creation of the Universe Before the Time Lords created the Web of Time, the universe obeyed no laws of physics, and magic was a powerful force. There existed cities with buildings carved from mile-high arches of ivory, with streets made of cobweb and gardens tended by stone men. (PROSE: Christmas on a Rational Planet) Many humans had semi-divine powers: for instance, Arjuna had one thousand arms and was ardently skilled at compressing time, while Nakula and Sahadeva led armies of imaginary hybrid animals made of broken time. The Great Houses' plan for ending the Dvapara Yuga involved starting the Kurukshetra war between the Pandavas and Kauravas. (PROSE: Dharmayuddha) River Song noted a theory that the SporeShips were leftover weapons from the war that wiped out the previous universe. (AUDIO: Signs)

5When the new universe was created, many powerful species from the pre-universe fled into other realities but over time found their way back. Some, like the Great Old Ones, still followed the rules of the pre-universe, giving them god-like powers. On many planets, these beings became part of the legends and religions. (PROSE: All-Consuming Fire, Millennial Rites) The Beast was trapped under Krop Tor by the Disciples of Light before light, time, space, or matter existed, and he remained there during and after the creation of the universe. (TV: The Impossible Planet) He claimed to have inspired the Devil of all religions, including the Arkiphets, Quoldonity, Christianity, Pash Pash, New Judaism, San Klah, and the Church of the Tin Vagabond. (PROSE: Transit) The TARDIS attempted to return to this point in time, which was also known as Event One, only to be prevented from doing so. The Doctor told her that the forces at the Roman capital Camulodunum were a decoy and Roman governor Suetonius Paulinus stationed an army to the north and intended to attack Boudica's army while it was ransacking Camulodunum.
247However, this was not the case. There was no army to the north. According to established history, after the burning of Camolundunum, which would later become Colchester, Boudica marched to Londinium and slaughtered almost everyone in the city including the old, the weak and the infirm. She was eventually defeated in a field in the middle of England which no one has ever been able to identify. There were no survivors. The Seventh Doctor was hidden in the room during this final consultation. Also killed was the genuine Guy Fawkes. The time travellers' presence had altered history slightly; Fawkes died a year early. 669During church services in the village of Little Hodcombe, parishioners began fighting amongst themselves. They were urged on by the Malus, which was feeding upon the psychic energy generated by their negative emotions. Roundheads and Royalists converged on the village, annihilating each other and the village. Once the violence subsided, the Malus went dormant once more. Taking refuge from the violence in a priest hole, young Will Chandler was transported to the year 1984. After defeating the Malus in that year, the Fifth Doctor returned Will to this time. (TV: The Awakening) In the initial attempt to do so, however, the TARDIS materialised on a planet of extremely intelligent, war-like walking reptilians, whose king wanted to execute the Doctor. Her plan backfires when Leandro betrays her, revealing he is the advance scout for a Leonian invasion.

712Around this time, the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith were also in the vicinity of greater London. They landed the TARDIS in a bubonic plague-infested area. He managed to get the two groups to work together against the approaching fire, then returned to the TARDIS with the ailing Sarah in time to give her some useful antibiotics.
