1197
Minor godmodding I’m okay with, especially if it’s needed to move along the plot of the thread. But anything major, or something that can be seen as OOC for Door is out. When in doubt, you can always ask me.

1199
Shipping & Exclusivity.

1200

1201
This is a multi-verse / ship blog, but that doesn’t mean ships will be a.) assumed or b.) forced on mun and muse. I practice ship exclusivity, so if I ship with your character, I will not write romantic relationships with duplicates of that muse. A list of my exclusives may be found here. As is usually the case, chemistry with Door is key. But more often than not, if you ship it, I probably do as well!

1202

1203
Anon & Messaging.

1204

1205
Anon is a privilege. Anon hate will not be tolerated, nor will it be published. It will be deleted, and you’ll be blocked. The IM feature is currently set to mutuals only, and I’m completely fine with both ooc & ic interactions. Depending on the time of day, however, replies may be slow. IM is by far the best way to get in touch with me, but KIK and Skype / Discord are also available for mutuals upon request.

1206

1207
Starters & Memes.

1208

1209
Starter calls & memes are open to all unless otherwise noted in either the post itself or the tags. Memes can always be turned into threads! ( In fact, I find that easier than doing starter calls most of the time. ) All I ask is that you please copy & paste into a new text post.

1210

1211
Formatting.

1212

1213
Other than a bit of indenting & the occasional bold or italic, I don't really do it myself anymore. My default when it comes to replies is sub text + icons, but I will usually go along with whatever my writing partner does just to keep the thread consistent looking.

1214

1215
Replies & Dropped Threads.

1216

1217
The majority of replies on this blog are queue’d, posting at 4x a day. More often than not, your reply will be put in there with a few exceptions. Dropped threads will happen from time to time. If you think I’ve forgotten our thread, a gentle nudge in the ask box is the way to go. I rely mainly on mobile notifications, so things might get missed. However, harassment and/or constant badgering / blog stalking will result in the thread getting dropped.

1218

1219
Nsfw & Triggers.

1220

1221
Content will be present; muse and mun are 21+. It will simply be tagged as #nsfw // or #nsfw text // when it appears. Smut is semi rare – and if it exists it has to make sense within the context of the thread & relationship. Fade to blacks / time jumps / alluding to it are just fine too. 18+ as per usual. I do not have triggers, but I will still try my best to tag them accordingly. If you have a trigger that I haven’t tagged, please let me know via ask and I will be happy to tag it for you.

1222
Triggers are tagged as #trigger //.

1223

1224
Follow Backs.

1225

1226
I consider this blog to be selective. I follow back if I’m interested in writing our characters together. If I do not, please don’t take offense — whatever the reason, it’s usually me, not you. I will RP with non-mutuals, but that is at my discretion.

1227
I am, however, less likely to follow back blogs without an about/rules page, OC/Canon alike. The first thing I seek out when visiting your blog is your rules page – I will not send passwords or the like when I encounter them – but I promise you do I read your rules.

1228I tend to unfollow after a month + of inactivity without some kind of hiatus notice in order to keep things on my end a bit neater. If you do come back from a hiatus and I've unfollowed in the meantime, just give me a little nudge & I will be THRILLED to refollow.

1251

1252
Door is what they call an Opener in London Below. She possesses her family’s innate ability to not only open doors ( among other things ) that were otherwise locked, but she can create new doors where none previously existed. Door is one of the more deft openers in her family; at the very least the most talented of the three children. It can be considered magic by some; but it is also an inherited trait passed along from generation to generation. House Arch is well known in London Below.

1253

1254
history -- contains spoilers.

1255

1256
Door returns home late one evening to find her entire family dead. The killers attempt to hunt her down, keen on finishing the task they started, but she manages to escape. She spends the remainder of the novel attempting to piece together who is responsible for her family’s deaths, banding together with a hired bodyguard, a self proclaimed Marquis, and a poor soul from London Above to track down a key for the Angel Islington in exchange for the information she needs. Islington, a supposed ally and friend to her late father is revealed to be the one behind the attack on her family. Door has her revenge; using the Angel’s desire to leave Earth for Heaven against him by opening a door instead to the furthest reaches of space she could manage.

1257  Most interactions here will take place post the events of Neverwhere.

1258
personality.

1259

1260
honest. ● caring. ● brave ● clever. ● optimistic. ● moody. ● impulsive. ● stubborn. ● spirited. ● affectionate.

1261
1262  Kind and compassionate — often times to a fault. She is fiercely loyal to those she considers family & friends, sometimes even doing things she would normally deem to be less than honorable if it meant protecting those she cares about. She’s also carries a curiosity streak with her about a mile wide. She likes intrigue, loves adventure, and loves to travel. However, the introvert in her does show itself often in wanting to take things slow.

1263
1264  Since her surroundings are often in flux and changeable, it’s also hard sometimes for her emotions to stay constant. Meaning, Door can blow a bit hot or cold depending on the situation / relationship. Lying is difficult for her ( both because she's too blunt for her own good sometimes, and the fact she's absolutely rubbish at keeping a poker face for very long. ) She wears her heart on her sleeve & her feelings on her face. When she’s happy, she lights up; grin wide and blue eyes full of mischief. When she’s sad, you can practically see the little rain-cloud suspended up above her head.

1265
1266  One of her biggest issues is TRUST. Considering the events of the novel ( and the way I play her ) Door is very wary to trust right away. She will be courteous and usually friendly to strangers – because that’s how she was raised – but it doesn’t mean she trusts you based on face value. With Door, trust is earned, and certainly doesn’t happen overnight. One of the biggest compliments she can pay you is saying she trusts you. But once that connection is made, she becomes a very different person; consistently warm, very affectionate. It's a select few who get let in that much, mostly due to the nagging worry that whoever she gets close to ( whoever she lets gets close to her ) will end up leaving / being taken away from her.

For more informaton on her, there is her headcanon tag. I’ve expanded quite a bit off what we see of her in the novel.

1267
a bit about london below.

1268

1269
Door is originally from London Below, a magical realm hidden beneath the mundane, everyday city streets of London. It’s made up of people born there, and people who have essentially fallen through the cracks of society in London Above.

1270
They come for various reasons: curiosity, chance, sometimes even out of frustration with their life in the ‘real world’. However, once you make the transition from London Above to London Below, there usually is no way back. Credit cards stop working, phone calls go unanswered. You become a ghost of sorts, more or less forgotten by those above. Most of the time they can venture above the surface – not everyone does go back up though – and they usually go unseen. If someone should notice them ( usually due to the person from London Below choosing to interact ), they soon forget the interaction, chocking the feeling up to déjà vu or something similar.

1271
However, for the sake of interactions, this isn’t always in effect on this blog. It is sometimes referred to, but if this was constantly in play, all threads ( sans obvious au’s ) would have to take place either in London Below, or the other character would forget Door at the completion of the thread. And where’s the fun in that?

1356
1357Door's main verse also includes the following subverses:

1358
1359
● HOUSE OF LORDS.

1360Door Porter is the eldest daughter of Lord Portico of Arch, a career politician and businessman who holds a position in the House of Lords. He made his money in the family business of metal refining before expanding into the equally profitable realm of technology. Door’s grown up in a word of affluence & privilege, most of which she finds boring and far too petty for her tastes. Distractions from a life she doesn’t particularly care for are highly encouraged.

1361
1362● ITS AS IF MY HANDS WERE TIED.

1363Door has lost her ability to open locks and create/open doors. She doesn’t know why, or how, but now she’s left with having to find out how to navigate the world without them while she tries to find both the reason behind their sudden disappearance, and how she can go about getting them back again. Originally created for writing with AHBUTIMAVILLAIN, but open to all.

1364
1365● HER HEART BEATS LIKE A VAGABOND'S.

1366Door leaves London in search of her sister Ingress upon hearing she is still alive, the trail leading her away from the familiarity of the streets of her youth. This verse can be adapted for most eras.

1367
1368● I AM A BLANK PAGE.

1369A verse for Door’s years at university in London. The events of the novel do not pertain to this verse; her family is alive and she is simply a normal girl working her way through juggling classes, a part time job, and a social life. Her concentration here is on photography, someday hoping to be the next Annie Leibovitz or Diane Arbus. When not looking through the lens of a camera you can usually find her alongside her live-in music major boyfriend Kylo. Verse is single ship with WRXCKAGE.

1376Clever. Strong. Superior. Augment. Adviser to her King. She specializes in lock-picking and code-breaking, her intellect only rivaled by her abilities in stealth and speed. Door is one of a handful of remaining augments, fighting alongside Khan Noonien Singh in the twilight of the Augment Wars on Earth. 1379Ensign Door is recent Starfleet graduate, her area of concentration being Navigation & Helm training. Being from a military family meant never staying in one place for too long; and it resulted in her spending more time on ships than most of her incoming class combined. By the age of eight she could name almost every craft in the fleet based on the sound it made.

1380
1381Active duty starts right after graduation, but the thrill of it is short lived. The missions are not what she had in mind; Federation life isn’t as rosy as her father made it out to be. She over-analyzes. Thinks too much for her own good. Less than a year into her post on a Hermes class ship, Door and her superiors begin to differ on sets of orders. After refusing direct orders one too many times, she gets discharged from Starfleet.

1390House Arch is a small but formidable one – her father Lord Portico an ally to House Tully in the Riverlands. Her father's family has roots in the North via House Hornwood; her mother's family an old Riverlands one with ties to House Mooton.
By proxy, Door and her family are supporters of House Stark during and after Robb’s rebellion, one of the few Riverland houses that maintain such allegiance after the events of the Red Wedding and the taking of Riverrun by the Freys. For the most part, Door has lived a sheltered life growing up near Maidenpool and along the Bay of Crabs, but now that she's older, there is more of a want to travel, despite the war.

Here, she finds herself unexpectedly enamored with the both the Kingdom and it’s King. 1409Door is a half-blood, sorted into Ravenclaw House like her mother Portia before her. ( Her father Portico was sorted into Gryffindor. ) She has a flair for Charms and Astronomy, but Potions have always given her difficulty. It isn’t that she isn’t clever – she’s a Ravenclaw, after all. She just has a thing about finding her own way to the correct answer. This has resulted in several bubbled over cauldrons over the years, and several lines of ’ I will follow the directions ’.

1411Post Hogwarts interactions are also encouraged!! After her time at school, she takes up a job at Slug & Jiggers (an apothecary, ironically enough; the job is offered to her as a favor to her father by the shop’s owner ) in Diagon Alley.

1418Door was left to fend for herself on the streets at the tender age of sixteen. Luckily for her she was a quick learner; eager to pick up tricks of the trade from other people in her particular situation.

1419
1420She started small with pick-pocketing when begging became beneath her; a full mind and an empty stomach content with stealing this or that when eyes were turned in the opposite direction before getting bolder. It was one such grandiose plan that went sideways and ended with her getting caught. Tossed in the one of the jail’s less accommodating holding cells, it was here that Door found her greatest talent — her nimble fingers lending themselves well to picking locks.

1429Strange things have never really phased her. After all, she comes from a part of London where crossing the wrong bridge at the wrong time can have dire consequences, a giant boar guards a labyrinth that leads to an angel, and they aren’t joking when the tell you to ‘mind the gap’. So when Door meets the Doctor, the notion of aliens, time travel, and everything that comes along with him makes complete sense to her. One trip in the TARDIS and she was hooked. A day in which the Doctor comes to visit London Below is always an interesting one. She has had interactions with Ten, Eleven and 12.

1436After a family trip that turns into a nightmare, Atlanta has fallen, and Door has been separated from her family. Sshe finally comes to terms with the idea they're most likely not alive after a few months of failing to find them again after fleeing the city. She’s been left alone to fend for herself in the Georgia woods, getting by with a small campsite and two hunting knives. Her ability to move from place to place / Open things is not applicable to this verse; she’s simply a normal human girl trying to outlast some roamers. However, she finds that she is particularlly good at picking locks & getting in and out of places that others might deem too dangerous.

1448
1449A debt owed by a Salarian called Kannik to her father ( paired with her light fingers, an ear for gossip, and eye for quality ) resulted in her landing a job at Cipritine Armory in the Commons, where she’s been an arms dealer for a few years now. 1478Born on the lower levels of Coruscant, Door grew up in the shadow of the former home of the Republic. Her parents had always been sympathetic to the rebel cause, both her father and mother aiding the rebellion with their abilities to code break and intercept intelligence. Door of course followed in their footsteps, falling in with the Resistance as soon as she could get passage off of Coruscant.

1479
1480Now, she spends the majority of her time on data collecting / intercepting missions, and breaking First Order codes. Door is force - sensitive in this verse to tie in her abilities from canon, but her ability to harness it or use it properly is very limited due to lack of real training for it.

1487Being born a ( human ) Dathomirian Witch has it’s advantages in the galaxy. Door’s skill-set as a Shadow Killer has always been desirable to those who align themselves with the Dark Side of the Force. But she doesn’t realize her true potential until being taken under the wing of Kylo Ren. Under his tutelage she grows stronger still, leaving behind the teachings she first learned while growing up with her fellow Nightsisters & their Book of Shadows to fully adopting her Master’s ideology.
1488
1489Their arrangement as Master / Apprentice soon turns into a much more intense, complicated, and far darker relationship. Each are dangerous on their own, but together — they’re the deadliest lovers in the galaxy.

The Spirits gave them strength, but she as clan mother gave them a purpose ---- which was to be sold to the highest off-world bidder.

1496
1497Their society became that of mercenaries; bows and staffs for hire. Door and her sisters were trained in both the ways of Magick & combat, her skill-set as one of her coven's Shadow Killers made her an asset to whomever could afford her services.

1517Her parents knew something was different about her almost from the moment she was born. Her crib wouldn’t stay locked, drawers and doors left open that they had sworn they had shut. It became more and more apparent that Door needed guidance and supervision that they couldn’t provide. So when she was old enough, she was sent off to a special school – boarding school where she could have private attention – at least that’s what her parents told everyone.

1524Door’s talents for being able to move and disappear into nothing makes her the perfect candidate for S.H.I.E.L.D. She becomes what they call a Shadow; someone who monitors potential people of interest, but can also extract & hide other agents at a moment’s notice.

1525
1526She continues to work for / run recon for Fury post the events of CA:WS and the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D.; meeting and working with Steve for the first time at the former director's request. She is still activly working with Fury through the events of AOU. By the time the events of CA:CW take place, circumstances being what they are ( her abilities and the growing seriousness of her relationship w/ Steve ), she finds herself aligned with Captain America’s beliefs re: the Accords than that of Tony Stark’s. Door is taken into custody with the rest of Steve's team, accompanying them to the Raft. Upon Steve's return to the prison and subsequent rescue mission, Door joins him on the run, not long after ending her working relationship with Fury to better help the pair of them disappear. For threads taking place in a post CW context, she will therefore react very differently to people on Steve's side vs. Tony's.

1537Door grew up in Kirkwall; Lowtown to be exact. She started working at the Hanged Man as soon as she could pull a tray of drinks down from the bar --- without spilling them --- after the passing of her parents and older brother. It’s what you could call a decent enough living, keeps her busy, keeps a roof over her head and food on her table. Of course, to keep things exciting, she will gladly loan out her services as an excellent lock picker / sell a piece of information she’s heard tumble from the lips of someone who’s had one too many for the right price.

After initially taking a job at the tavern The Singing Maiden, she is put in contact with Leliana, offering her talents in passing information to the spymaster. She becomes part of the Nightingale's scouting and spy rings, spending most of the campaign moving between points around Ferelden and Orlais and the camps of Haven and Skyhold.

1544
1545With Corypheus defeated and the Breach closed, Leliana is soon after elected as the new Divine Victoria. Door is asked to travel to Orlais to continue her work, with the Inquisition wanting to focus on secrets and information. 1554Born a Vampire under the streets of London, Door is the eldest daughter of an old family with allegence to the ancient Vampiric Council based in the city. Like her father before her, she is something akin to a Death Dealer --- a vampire charged with keeping the status quo, hunting down & dispatching those who threaten the coven's way of life.

1555
1556While it is considered taboo to hunt down their own kind ( especially those born a vampire and not bitten & turned ), the Council does enjoy making examples of those who deviate.
