Our issue is that we know nothing about what is going on in GTA, or if anything at all is going on. We've been told you are working on it. What are you working on? We've been told GTA is coming soon. Well, how soon? We've been told "soon" for months now. All we want is communication. We'd like to know for certain that GTA is being worked on. We'd like to know what is being worked on. I understand you maybe don't want to share everything. That's fine. All we ask for is something. Something so that we know that GTA is not being abandoned. Because honestly, it sort of feels like it has been.

91And you are right. The server is up, we can join it. But we have not been given any motivation to join. There has been nothing being released on the server since February. There has been nothing in announcements since then either. There has been no wipe. There have been no events. There are no new whitelisted people (many of who are eager to play, if given the chance). Yes. We can log on. We can have a low pop server with a small story and have some fun. But there is no longevity in that. Many of the very active members of the GTA community have moved on. And if we want them back, or if we want anything on this server, something needs to be done.

A few months ago when a lot of population left the server, and a lot of you stopped playing it as well it has undoubtedly pushed GTA's priority on our lists down. 95Now I don't mind if some one just wants to up and leave and go to other servers. There's tons of them and that's the choice of that person. I'm not going to change their mind. So don't mistake what I said above for "omg people are leaving woe is me". It's a logical thought. To rework the GTA economy and implement new features while making sure it's balanced is a huge under taking. We don't sink hours upon hours in to something with hopes that 20-30% of it is used.

97The server was active with announcements and activities when it died off. Also please don't bring up the "no server events" point. I have ALWAYS said that I expect players to drive the story. Such amazing story lines and events have come from non admins.

I've seen a lot of messages that come off as extremely passive aggressive over the last years that maybe weren't meant to be that way. It's just the nature of text. It's up to the reader to decipher the feelings of the person typing it. Please do not be afraid to speak out, but please be polite in the way that it's done. We have never banned some one for speaking up. We have if a line gets crossed and we ask the person to stop and they don't though.

The server was lacking a bit on the new content side and that along with a wipe may have rekindled the server. That's still my hope. I know a lot of people are waiting for the wipe behind the scenes. 106tbh we were once told the server would wipe in March. So it made sense when many people stopped playing.  Then the server didn't wipe in March. But there was no population on gta to come back to because everyone figured okay maybe one more week. A week goes by. Okay maybe another week? Same thing, rinse and repeat.

108Previous seasons before it wiped we didn't have a population drop though. It's kind of like a TV show. If the ratings aren't there type of thing. And if there a bit of a drop if was no where near this last one. I'm not trying to use population as a crutch here, but it's truly a huge factor in the development of a GTA server.

110A wipe might have rekindled interest but we didn't have anything new or really fancy to go with the wipe at that time. Also there a fair bit of stress involved with the economy in GTA. Get it wrong and you end up with a super short life span.

338I kinda blew my load of ideas when i was giving ideas to Cyan and helping. But honestly, better passive pay checks and make high risk actual high rewards (e.g banks). I recommend buffing up the price of all the super cars. Less time just collecting weed and more time people just focused on the RP like the old times. just enough to "get you by"if people want a nice car they will have to do a lil bit of farming for it. Anything to reward RP rather than hiding away for 40 hours (I'm ashamed I did that). money shouldn't be the main priority it helps because it's nice to get cool things!

718A lot of streamers, Mitch and myself included, are attracted to the idea of coming up with new voices, silly characters etc. A lot of people here are.
719It's a symbiosis. The server provides great content for people to stream on and to make videos, we benefit by their communities applying to our servers and maintaining the population.
720The thing is, a lot of the streamers and youtubers we appeal to, also play a lot of different games. They thrive in variety.

959(Quite late I know but chat is moving so fast) I won't say that new content is to be used as a crutch to rely on but it also helps to immerse. While yes, GTA provides the very core that we need, the extras make it all the more appealing. It's  like having a regular old sponge cake. Lovely on its own but add some icing maybe some cream filling and it's even more enticing. Just like how stories can run fine on the basics but can be made even more spectacular with a boost in content.

1004We don't think more admins works, a lot of our stuff already takes time because we get 5 opinions of it. If you disagree with that way of decision making, too bad is all we can say. I've always like democracy on a small scale, I think it gives us the most open view to what we believe TRP should be. If I really want the server to have no fast cars, but the other 4 don't, I'm not getting my way. That may even frustrate me sometimes, but that's good because it's more open if we have points to disagree on.

1006If we added another 3 admins, fml. If we had dedicated to each game, I think we'd feel left out of input. We do enjoy running it, despite the stress. So we aren't going to get more admins. More developers would definitely be great, but again that's where money comes in and quite frankly, I will not spend a penny on that, because I cannot afford to. We are now sponsored, but a lot of money used to go into TRP for servers way back when.

1151I personally am in no rush for a mass of new content. I just enjoyed everyone having their serious RP and everyone having their silly RP. Which in other servers i don't think you can get that right balance of both. TRP has been setup to be a chill and wacky when you want to be and serious and intense when you want to be. It's hard to manage those types of things. There really is no other server that has managed this yet. So i will just sit in Limbo and wait for it to get booted up again to the way it was before.

1164Everyday was a different story or a different bit and it felt so fresh even though I was cruising with the same people. I've tried other servers but their attitude isn't just the same, like @LokeTsu (Francisco/Talon/Landon) said. it's either stupid, or 100% dead serious; there isn't the balance that trp had. 1257Just to add on to Mitch's point. We read everything here today, and we definitely were not motivated or pleased by it. My respect for some of the people who posted in here is absolutely at zero. We ask that in future, you approach the subject with respect and the understanding that no one owes anyone anything and it's entirely unfair to complain about not having something that you're not entitled to.

1259That being said, we agree that we should make more announcements and that one off comments get lost. We already have ideas for what we want GTA to become, we'll just discuss it more openly. We want a lot of change to how it was before and that won't ride well with some people. We've tried one style, now we want to push a different way. All of our admin team was not happy with where things were during the months before our focus shifted.

1261So although we'll go forward with being more open, some changes will require people to adapt and change to. We want to push away from more trolly RP and find a happy medium ground. We also want to find ways to make story more relevant over content. Content is never a good focus, nearly every other role-play game does not need new content to thrive. We have some thoughts on how to push this and will discuss them in due time.

1263Please remember that it'll happen when it happens. We work on projects when we're excited to work on them. Please don't sour other people's fun just because you're not being pampered as well - one of the most off-putting things is reading people getting angry because our other servers are doing well; it's selfish to those who enjoy those ones. And all other games are far easier to do things than GTA.

1267One point I saw earlier, now that I'm finally caught up, is the "there's no new events" or along those lines that Holes brought up. I want to push Mitch's point more than any other - create them. We will never live up to those expectations. ARK has server events because it's something a couple of us have time for and want to do. Do not expect us to provide role-play for you, that will never work. Build the role-play you want.

1270Tbh, DCPlaya, we didn't have an opportunity to. I can only speak for myself and say I'm frustrated that we even had to discuss this here in the first place. I am extremely disappointed and demotivated by it. I would not have done a voice call today, it's my day off, and i've spent 2 hours of it having to respond to this.
1271The one thing I will always push is that there's tens of thousands of role-players out there, in other games, who do not need content to role-play. We urge you to try and get into that mindset. Content is a bonus, not a necessity. If it's a necessity, we will not be the place for you.

We're prone to far more info than all of you; we see applications and where they come from, what the contents of them are like. We hear the ins and outs of other servers and we've been doing this full time for 33 months. Sometimes we will make decisions that won't be popular to the loud few, but will be to the whole community.
