3I am involved in an international coordination effort to organize and launch occupyradio.fm, a large-scale inter-occupy radio station available through web, phone, and land-based syndication. The goal of Occupy Radio is to ease communications between and unify occupations under a common wavelength. We are dedicated to non-hierarchical organization similar to the participatory democracy employed generally by the occupations throughout the world. Each sister site shares equal responsibility, freedom, and representation within the radio station, regardless of the size or perceived importance of the occupation.

5Occupy Radio isn't just an idea. We have spent months developing and documenting the technical infrastructure required to launch a simple, push-button broadcast system. Our technology has been carefully put together so that all one needs to begin broadcasting is a computer, a high-speed internet connection, and a microphone, no radio experience required.

7Unfortunately, Occupy Radio is missing something vital: Participation. We need dedicated broadcasters at affiliate occupations to launch with us. This means a team of at least 7 people, each willing to prepare and perform an hour of air time per week. Without this level of dedication from at least a dozen occupations, Occupy Radio will die. In fact, Occupy Radio is more or less on its death bed right now. Again, not because we do not have the technical infrastructure or the funding to run a large scale radio system, but because the occupations we have contacted thus far have either been too busy to accommodate our efforts, or don't realize the scope of what we are offering. This is an opportunity to reach millions of people with the message of your occupation.
