Aliandara:So, last time Lilith needed to stretch her legs (wings and other things too probably) and received a welcome invitation from Ayavah to visit her at the soon to be consecrated temple of Nocticula, the first ever full fledged one dedicated to the Redeemer Queen. There, she met Sorshen, who had previously had dealings with Nocticula, and seemed to be financing the endeavor, and her aunt, Melisandrana, who was continuing to stalk Sorshen on behalf of Ayandamahla, Lilith's Grandmother and former majordomo of Sorshen.
Meanwhile back at the Converted Peacock Temple, Angelique had a breakthrough on her efforts and together with Aliandara performed a ritual that allowed Salome the freedom to leave the Violet Refuge as a complete being. After some time exploring the temple and surrounding grounds, Salome was eager to try stretching her own legs, and volunteered to go and retrieve Lilith, as Aliandara neared the completion of her own research of Xanderghul's ritual to gain them access to Crystalin.
At the First Temple of the Redeemer Queen, Lilith receives a sending asking if she's ready to depart, after about a week of time to herself and with Ayavah.
After confirming her desire to rejoin the others, Lilith finds herself being approached by Sorshen, still in the guise of Miranda. "So, I take it your friends are ready to continue with your venture? Had you not shown up here, I might have reached out to find out what your next intended course of action was."
Lilith nodded her head at that. "I think so, yes. Sounds like they've met some success with their other activities, and Alia might have an idea on how to get us where we need to go." She frowned slightly and put a finger to her lips in thought quietly a moment. "You knew my grandmother. I've no doubt you can tell something about me has changed since the first time we crossed paths as well..." She trailed off in thought a moment.
Aliandara:Sorshen nods to her, looking to Lilith's hair. "Yes, that shade in your roots is very definitely her colour. Ayavdamahla was my Majordomo, and looked after the Lady's Light, back when it was my home away from home. She and her daughters, along with other succubi, were given to me by Nocticula as part of a pact. I'll spare you the details on what my end of the bargain was." The Runelord's eyes shimmer a moment. "I take it you;re concerned about fully embracing your fiendish heritage?"
Lilith scratches her cheek a moment and sighs. "Something like that, yes." She frowns heavily. "My father still desperately wishes to see her mother lose her head, or possibly worse, for what was done to her." She closed her eyes and rubbed them a moment. "I'd never really considered how much my demonic blood affected me when I was little. Of course I knew it was the source of my rage. It's part of what makes me strong. But..." She trails off with a sigh and lowers her hand.
Aliandara:Sorshen nods, giving a wry chuckle. "I imagine your father has little love lost for me either, though if I knew where she was I'd be happy to offer my former majordomo as a peace offering of sorts." She muses on Lilith's words. "Naturally anyone with the blood of an outsider, particularly as fresh as you, being only a generation removed, will struggle with it, but very much unlike the outsiders, whose nature exists to the core of their being, you are still mortal, and free to make your own choices. Fighting against your blood may in some ways allow you control, but consider how you might be if you didn't embrace that abyssal rage within yourself? How else might it come out? Who might you hurt if you didn't choose to deliberately focus it?"
Lilith bit her lips thoughtfully a moment and frowned. "... I have considered it." She sighed deeply. "It's something I worry about a lot, actually." She shook her head. "I guess I'm just... Concerned that someday I might wake up to find myself unable to be more than my bloodline says I should be." She laughed a little at that. "Sounds kind of silly saying it that way, I suppose. But I guess if you believe in redemption, then you kind of have to worry about corruption too, right? No matter how much you might want to think otherwise, it's a two-way street." She shrugged her shoulders and flexed her wings a moment. "Not that I'm unhappy with who I am, mind. I'm just... A little worried I might not be myself any more someday."
Aliandara:Sorshen nods. "Very much so. It is very rare to find someone who is truly incorruptible, or likewise, truly irredeemable. The only real factor is time, and unfortunately most mortals don't have the time needed to pursue the redemption of demons. Your mother had a head start due to Ashamintallu's isolation and madness making her more vulnerable than demons commonly were." She looks thoughtful for a moment. "However, she accomplished that, and thus you're here now, so undoubtedly you have things that drive you to keep making the right choices. Though those same things can be turned against you if you're not careful. Many who fall from grace do so because they felt they had no choice, but in truth were simply unwilling to let go of what they were protecting."
Lilith nods her head slowly and sighs. "Yeah... I guess that's true." She scratches her cheek a moment in thought. "Well. That's less than reassuring. But, thank you anyway. I'll try to keep it in mind at least." She waved with a hand to Sorshen. "We're almost to where I'm supposed to meet my friends. It might be better if you weren't around when they arrive, unless you really want to explain what you're doing here to them, too."
Aliandara:Sorshen offers a shrug. "I have little need to hide what I am doing, much of my plans are in place and simply awaiting the proper time, but what is your next move? Xanderghul has been dealt with I know, but Alaznist I have not been able to find much about of late."
Lilith grins at that. "You'll just have to wait and see. I can promise, the results won't be boring, at least." She shrugged her shoulders at that. "Xanderghul had a lead on where to find Alaznist, but we've got to do a little more digging before we'll know if it pays off or not."
Aliandara:Sorshen nods. "Then I'll leave you to pursue the matter as you deem best, heroes like you work best when left to your own devices." She emphasizes the word hero with a smirk before turning to leave.
Lilith nods her head and waves a hand. "I'll come back to visit, when we're done." She steps up to where they'd arranged to meet, waiting for her ride to arrive.
Aliandara:In the shade of a nearby tree, the light seems to thin and distort as Salome, her complexion still grey, but less sallow than it had once been, steps out back into the material. She looks to Lilith. "I hope your time here was pleasant," she offers.
Lilith steps up to Salome with a grin. "It was better than that. And look at you! You're looking... Well, still palid and grey. But more lively than when I left. And outdoors!" She laughed a moment. "This means I get to drag you out to go clothes shopping sometime soon! Your robes might offer power, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't care about fashion too!"
Aliandara:Salome nods. "Angelique expressed the importance of new clothing as well, so now that I can depart from the Temple, I would be happy to attend. It was also for that reason that I elected to retreive you, so Namegiver Aliandara could continue her research. She claims to be on the verge of completing her research of the Runelord's material. A few more days, she believes, and we will be ready to depart."
Lilith nods her head, reaching out to take Salome's hand. "Excellent. Then we should return and plan a further expedition to Magnimar, I'm certain we'll be able to find you some new clothes there. You're close enough to human that we shouldn't have difficulty acquiring something from any reasonably competent clothier, at least."
Aliandara:Salome nods. "I believe, technically, I am human, just created artificially at first, and augmented with the power of shadows. Namegiver Angelique simply made me complete, though it may come at the cost of true mortality." She takes Lilith's hand and steps back into the shade, thinning the dimensions to walk through the shadows back to the temple.
Aliandara gathers Conleth, Angelique, and Persephone in anticipation of Lilith's return, to discuss their plan, and her progress.
Angelique was merely wandering round, having decided to take a break to stretch her appendages. But mostly the legs.
Aliandara:Walking through the shadows with Salome is dim and misty, and while not as instantaneous as teleporting, does let them cover ground at great speed without a chance of mishap. Familiar with the library, Salome steps back out of a shadow behind a bookshelf, bringing Lil to join the others.
Lilith stretched her arms and legs a moment upon arrival. "Mmmh. Well, I guess that's enough fresh air for the time being." She waved to the others. "How have things been going here?"
Aliandara is still missing her legs of course, floating down gently into a seat once everyone was assembled. "Welcome back Lilith," she offers, "I hope you had a good time." She nods. "I am, I think, just about finished studying Xanderghul's notes, which means we will be ready to head to the Plane of Shadows once I have fully memorized the ritual."
Conleth was flipping through one of his notebooks, sitting on his carpet as it floated at roughly seat-level, looking through some notes he had copied to review from the various bits of ritual research that had been done. "Eventful, and not eventful, depending on who you ask. Probably noticed the results of the eventful part of when you've been gone."
Angelique hopped up to give Lilith a hug when she returned. "And I take it YOU had fun as well?"
Lilith blinked at the sudden hug and grinned, wrapping her arms around Angelique with a brief spin, holding her close. "Oh yes. I needed this very much! Plus I learned a few interesting things while I was there as well." She released Angelique and approached the table. "Nothing all that amazing, mind. It seems Sorshen has no idea where Alaznist has gone. I didn't tell her any details about what we're planning to do either. I thought it'd make a better surprise."
Aliandara nods to Lilith. "That's good. Now, since we're nearing our departure, I've told you what I could find out about our destination." She holds up her wrists, where a pair of vambraces now sat, "these are similar to Angelique's and will provide protection from the frigid environment, and I believe the rest of you are similarly prepared to face it." She lowers her hands to her thighs. "Which leaves just one issue."
Conleth snaps his book shut with a sigh. "One that feels like we put it off a bit longer than necessary. Did you have something in mind, or are we going to have to make a Sending to Windsong?"
Aliandara looks to Angelique. "Unless an alternative is ready," she notes, leaving it open for her to interject, "we will need to seek out the magic of a cleric more powerful than I. I have made my prayers, but the magic needed to regrow my legs is presently beyond my ken. Had I focused exclusively on divine magic perhaps, but that matters little now."
Angelique just shakes her head
Lilith shrugs her shoulders. "Sounds like there's not a lot we can do other than ask for help."
Aliandara nods. "I have some funds left after we disposed of Zevrania's valuables, so I should be able to afford such a potent spellcasting service, we simply need to find someone who can cast the spell. Magnimar has a few High Priests that should have the capability, and I believe Casamir may as well." She looks to Conleth.
Conleth nods, stretching and leaning back. "Worst case scenario... Given how much cash we have, I'm sure we could find a scroll of it somewhere. Probably should be carrying more of the things around anyway, given how useful the last few I bought turned out to be." he says, tapping next to his eyes with a smirk.
Aliandara nods. "I do have plenty of scrolls yes, I just didn't have that one in particular, nor could I find one when I last went looking, so we'd have to get it made." She floats up gently, looking to Angelique and offering a smile. "Thank you, for looking after me and trying to mend it, you did everything you could."
Aliandara:Persephone offers a shrug. "Pity my fix didn't work, but at least I captured a nice moment in the attempt." Alia tries not to blush and clears her throat.
Before Alia can dismiss them though, a projected image of Corstela appears among them, offering a curtsey. "Good day Heroes of the Cove," she offers to them, before looking to Aliandara. "High Priestess, there is a matter of urgency in the temple. It um... it's her. The Divine Serpent has returned and is asking for you."
Angelique looked away, still feeling guilty about what happened. She gave a curious eyebrow raise when Corstella appears.
Conleth blinks, an incredulous look on his face. "Awfully convenient timing." he states, looking over to Alia. "This a public or private summons?"
Lilith scratched behind one of her horns. "Mmmh. Well sounds like it's public enough for her to show up at the temple, rather than directly in Alia's presence. So maybe we all ought to go see what's going on?"
Aliandara looks surprised and shakes her head. "I did not call her here," she notes, extending her hands to teleport them quickly to the surface, not keen on keeping a divine herald waiting.
Conleth rolls his eyes. "You aren't the one 'sending the summons', in this case, but this should be good." he pulls out a different journal, flipping some pages.
Aliandara:They arrive in the main hall of the temple, where much of the congregation sits in awe at the returned presence of Kurshu. The Divine Serpent looked considerably more... whole than she had before, no longer chronically wasting, and she had made a point to bedeck herself in finer attire than the rags she had previously worn in her isolation from the Goddess. Corstela, who had been concentrating on her illusion up on the pulpit, opens her eyes and returns to her physical location mentally.
Aliandara is unable to bow to the herald, in her current state, but dips at the waist and lowers her head respectfully.
Lilith raises her eyebrows in some surprise, but makes a point not to mouth off given the persons present.
Aliandara:Kurshu looks to Aliandara and shakes her head. "There is no need for that, not presently," she offers. She looks at Alia's missing legs and frowns. "Lissala told me of your prayers, and that you had been maimed by a treacherous demon. She is not pleased about her High Priestess being dismembered, but is bound by the laws of the gods and so cannot directly intervene to grant you power beyond your present ken. That is why I am here."
Aliandara looks up as Kurshu directs her not to bow her head. "I am afraid I do not understand, though I am glad to see you returned to what must be your former splendor."
Aliandara:The serpent extends her wings, the feathers now pristine and lacking the persistent molting, her scales also glossy and no longer flaking away in places. "This," she says firmly, "is not a gift. You have done me an immeasurable service in reuniting me with Lissala, and such service, above and beyond your work to re-establish our patron's faith here on Golarion, is not to go unrewarded, though it took some time to devise a suitable means." She places a hand on Alia's head, and the half-elf's eyes roll back as there's a sudden influx of knowledge. She nearly drops from her hovering as she staggers back a moment.
Kurshu looks around to Alia's companions as she reachs back to pull a scale from her own tail, wincing a bit and handing it to Aliandara. "You will need this," she notes, before addressing the rest. "I hope that as you continue your adventures, you do not allow further dismemberment to come to Lissala's High Priestess, for she will determine the future of our Goddess upon this world."
Conleth smirks, glancing to the others and stretching out. "I think we'll be keeping her from running too close to any demons or dangerous shit in the future-hell with whether she's the high priestess, she's just not someone any of us want to lose."
Lilith nods her head and scowls. "It wasn't exactly a deliberate choice to allow this to happen either. She tried to banish a demon that proved more powerful than we expected, and it reached her before we reached it."
Aliandara takes the scale and nods to Kurshu. "Thank you, I will not squander this reward," she notes, hurriedly flying off to make some preparations.
Aliandara:Kurshu nods to the group. "By choice or not, I recognize that there is heavier burden upon your futures than I fully comprehend. The Goddess' vision is clouded and she knows only that her High Priestess will play a vital role in ensuring the fate we desire. Naturally this means you too will be a part of it, but Alia retains the means to call me should the urgent need arise. Until such time as I am needed again, I will depart and encourage you to manifest the fate you desire as well."
With that, the Herald vanishes, slipping back across the planes.
Angelique looks back and forth between where the herald was and where Alia went, frowning. "Did she just put knowledge right in her head? I wonder what it was..."
Aliandara darts about quickly, grabbing a few supplies from the laboratory below, and also stopping to milk Sigil of a dose of his venom, mixing it with the scale from Kurshu into an admittedly foul smelling concoction. She returns to Angelique after her brief runaround. "Can I request your assistance?" she offers. "What Kurshu gave to me was a ritual, and I just finished putting together the needed material components, but... there's a risk involved and if anything goes wrong I'd like you to be there to tend to me."
Angelique nods, putting down the book she'd picked up. "Right. I can't see inside your head though so I'll need you to tell me what you're doing."
Conleth frowns, stepping up. "Anything any of us can do to help is gonna need you to pipe up, especially with you rushing around like this. Take a second to breathe."
Aliandara nods and lists the ingredients of her little cocktail. "Viper Venom, a scale from a magicalserpent, which Sigil and Kurshu have graciously provided." The snake looks a little woozy as he pokes his head out but nods affirmatively. "Mixed with a healing potion," she holds up the vial, "I have to drink it," she notes calmly, "and then spend some time channeling magic to create..." She focuses on the mental image for a moment, "a powerful restorative effect, an enhancement even."
Angelique nods, thinking. "Well if you're drinking venom make sure you've no ulcers."
Conleth:"Well, we're here for you if something happens. You feel like describing what it's supposed to be doing, or do you only have the 'how to do it' part?"
Aliandara nods and moves back to her room, gently setting herself down on the bed and taking a deep breath. Sigil slithers out of the satchel and onto a little bedding on the desk. "I don't believe I'm suffering from any other conditions at the moment." She pulls out some chalk to draw an array on the ground. "I believe this ritual is meant to replace what I've lost, but it's a bit different," she notes. "It's a transmutation effect, rather than a conjuration like healing spells normally are, so... I believe it may be an imitation of the ability of reptiles to regrow their own limbs, but that kind of process isn't as quick as it would be with regeneration magic, so I may be incapacitated for a time."
Conleth:"Well that sounds... Interesting. In perfect company to recover from it at least."
Angelique wracks her brains, thinking back to all she knew, looking carefully at the concoction and the markings. "...Oh, you're going to be incapacitated for a while. I think I know what this is. And I should warn you it's not going to be a fun experience. But I will do everything I can to help. And don't worry I'll make sure the little steam pipe is fed."
Aliandara:Sigil glances at Angelique tiredly, but flicks his tongue in acknowledgement. Alia chuckles. "He appreciates it," she notes, finishing up the array. Heedless of Angelique's commends, she seats herself in the diagram and starts to work her magic for the better part of an hour."
As she does so she mixes some diamond dust into the concoction before drinking it with a rather disgusted face.
Angelique watches as she works and before she drinks it speaks up. "Before you do that you should strip, or would you rather I do that for you?"
Conleth thinks it over, frowning. "I... Is this going where I..." he trails off, lost in thought as he scrambles to write everything down.
Aliandara pauses to look at Angelique, nodding and removing her skirt and blouse, setting her magical accoutrements aside carefully, leaving her in just her smallclothes. She seems less self conscious about her leg stumps, but still tries to focus on her incantation.
Angelique:"Those to." She said.
Aliandara opens her eyes again, blushing and frowning a bit at Conleth and motioning for him to not look. Angelique at least she trusted to be professional as a medic as she undresses completely. She feels exposed, but that is quickly replaced by a burning sensation in her belly as the ritual takes hold and the concoction she'd imbibed starts to rumble in her gut. She manages to maintain her focus through to the end of the incantation before her eyes shoot open and she groans, her whole body shuddering violently as she collapses on her side, curling up and clutching herself. She passes out from a mix of pain and exhaustion as the flesh at her legs starts to roil and warp.
Angelique groans as she watches Alia begin convulsing "I knew it. This is just as much a test as a reward. Lydia! all hands on deck! Fleshwarp!"
Conleth had rolled his eyes, but obliged and turned around, opting to let his ears lead him. "Of course-if it's already started, then we're probably too late to stop it if it's... How's she looking?"
Angelique: "Like her body is made of molten clay. It's self guiding it seems so all I need to do is make sure it doesn't kill her."
Angelique sat down beside her, doing what she could without injecting her with anything, lest the medicines interrupt the process. She rarely if ever left her side as things went on, observing and noting the changes as she takes notes and reads potentially important books. Within a week she finds the others to let them know it was close, but she'll survive, before returning to her side.
Lilith had kept out of the way, sitting nearby as the ritual took place. "Well if it's not killed her quickly then she'll probably be okay in terms of immediate effect. I doubt that Kirshu would give her something likely to kill her, given how important she is to Lissala."
Angelique shook her head. "Actually there was a small chance it could've killed her. Thankfully her healthy body minimised the risk, but it was there."
Aliandara gags and sputters even after she loses consciousness, not spewing any bile thankfully, but curling her fingers and trembling as Angel hoists her into her bed, trembling and shaking, though not thrashing violently thankfully. She seems to relax after the venom runs its course, her body weak, but regaining its stamina gradually as the changes take place. A groan announces her return to the land of the living after a week.
Conleth sticks around... Albeit avoiding watching unless he HAS to. "Fan-fucking tastic, anything you need me to grab?" he asks. He stays busy over the week, even if he doesn't have to directly help, but ends up looking troubled...
Angelique shakes her head. "No, it's alright, I've got this. You probably have projects you need to deal with. Lil, think you can keep Persy from worrying?" A week later she was woken up from her nap by the snake, having told him to bite her if any changes happened to wake her up. When she'd settled she'd put a few beds together to make sure Alia had enough space, and she'd put a thick blanket over her when she noticed drops in her temperature. She put a hand on her forehead and listened carefully to her breathing. "Alia, can you hear me? If you can, try not to move."
Lilith spends most of the week assisting Angelique however she can. And making sure Persephone doesn't interfere with Alia's treatment too much.
Aliandara opens her eyes and stares blearily at Angelique. "WHat happened?" she asks, her mouth feeling strangely clumsy. "It hurt, and then I passsssssed out... how long wasssss I out?" she doesn't seem to take notice of the slurred s sounds just yet
Aliandara:Persephone is a little grumpy, and steals a peek in now and again, but is easily shooed out by Angelique before she can see her lover in the rather unpleasant looking state she'd been in while the transformation took place.
Angelique looks at her watch on the cabinet and frowned. "Roughly a week." She yawned. "You were fleshwarped and it nearly killed you, just try to rest for now, here." She had a glass of water with a straw in it, holding it close. "Try to drink some."
Aliandara moves her arm, which felt heavy, under the sheet, instinctively grabbing for the glass even as She tilts her head to try and grasp the stray. "I'm really warm," she offers, sipping the cool water eagerly.
Angelique nods. "Good, you'll need to make sure you keep that way. Your test slash reward has left you with more responsibilities not just to your cult, but for yourself as well."
Aliandara blinks, looking a little confused as she swallows the drink. She attempts to push herself up into a seated position. "My mouth feelsss funny..."
Angelique leaned forward to help her. "Carefully now... Everything should feel funny. Aside from your hair your whole body has changed."
Aliandara blinks as she feel's Angel's hand on her arm, the sensation of her touch feeling different. She moves her arm to feel for her glasses, then stops abruptly when she sees the green 'skin' running down her arm. "What..."
Angelique signals to have the lighting turned up. "Are you ready for this?" She had a large mirror placed in front of the bed and put a hand on the sheets really to pull it off if she said yes.
Aliandara picks up her glasses and slips them on, wincing a bit as the scales on her hand brush the ones on her cheek the wrong way. "Ah, what in-" She stops cold, struck speechless as she looks at herself in the mirror, seeing her scaly cheeks, forked tongue, and scale covered arm, the green scales highlighted by gold patterns creating runic shapes where her tattoos had once been.
Angelique pulls back the covers to show the full extent of the changes. "Now I know this may be a bit of a shock and you'll want to get used to everything, but for now I'm ordering you to stay in this bed. If you want something, tell a zombie. Once I'm sure you've got your strength back, then we begin training. But for now, let's see if you can keep some soup down."
Conleth flips through a list as he walks, frowning, wondering if that was everything done, or if he should double check... Catching muffled speech in the room Alia had been in made him stop and knock, though. "Everything good in there?"
Aliandara gasps in surprise as the covers are thrown back, revealing now, as she had anticipated, legs as scaly as her arms, but a full blown serpentine tail. She looks flabbergasted, and gingerly reaches out a hand to feel her new tail, a hand brushing over the spot where scales met skin and making her give a little gasp.
Aliandara: Having undressed turned out to be a good call, and she's too fascinated by her new appearance to notice Conleth entering. The scales topped out at the top of her hips below her navel, but followed her abdominal V down between her legs, or what would have been her legs before switching to the muscular underbelly scales. Her stylized eye tattoos remained unblemished on her backside, the scales picking up just below her cheeks, wavy lines of those same golden runic patterns running down the sides of her tail all the way to the tip. The scales on her cheeks hadn't affected the tattoo on her forehead, nor were the ones on her back, chest, or belly altered
Angelique nodded to the door. "Everything's fine, Connie. The changes are complete, she just needs time to recover and then learn how to work her new muscles." She gives a smirk as her zombie heats up some soup nearby. "Welcome to monsterhood."
Aliandara finds herself tearing up. "I... this is... I didn't expect all this," she offers, momentary confusion giving way to unbridled joy at the blessing she had been given.
Conleth hadn't actually intended to enter, but the door giving way anyway when he knocked meant, well, leaning in was inevitable... "I guess she's doing well, then." he says with a straight face. "It... Uh... Suits you?"
Angelique gestures for the zombie to bring a bowl of the simple chicken soup she had heated up. "The new tail isn't the only thing you'll have to get used to. Taste, smell, hearing and sight could very well be altered. You may even have a jacobson's organ."
Aliandara flicks her tongue out, then gasps and covers her mouth, looking embarassed at the instinctive action, Sigil almost seeming to snicker, and some drool runs down her chin.
Conleth tries not to laugh. Tries really, really hard.
Angelique also shakes with silent laughter as she lifts up the spoon, blowing on it to make sure it was cool enough to eat. "Oh Lil is going to have so much fun with that. Come on, open up."
Lilith comes around at the sound of ongoing commotion. "Alia's finally back in the land of the conscious, huh?" She pokes her head in around the door frame. "Ooh. Lookin' good too! I know some guys back in Magnimar who would... MMmh." She kisses her fingers and flips them out like a blessing.
Aliandara turns a brighter shade of red a the disguised snickering and Lilith's comment, her tail giving a shudder as her attempt to turn away and hide her face just makes the whole thing jump a little. She takes the soup in her scaly hands, or at least tries to as Angel slaps them away, before opening her mouth, her tongue lolling out a bit.
Conleth rolls his eyes, even as he suppresses snorts of laughter. "You can do your own scale 'sample examinations' come after she can wa... Move properly on her own."
Angelique did her best to keep a straight face as she fed her. "I think Persy would prefer if she got the first try, but that comes later." She looked at the tongue and shook her head as she fed her. "Try not to worry too much about that, you'll learn to control it. And the word you're looking for, Connie, is slithering. Unless she prefers the hognose method and inches forward instead."
Lilith raised her hands defensively. "Hey, hey! I didn't say I was going to do anything! Poor girl's going to be getting enough stares without me adding anything to it." She grins broadly. "Buuuut. Now that you mention it. I guess I will have to teach her how to move with style, and how to survive under the withering glares of people who disapprove of her appearance. Plus the ones who approve of it a little too much." She winks to Alia. "Don't you worry. By the time I'm done, you'll be perfectly capable of moving through a crowded room and you won't even notice the stares."
Aliandara looks down at her tail. "I mean, this is a blessing from my Goddess, as if I could be made to feel ashamed of it," she notes defiantly, "but yes... I can't seem to make it move the way I want." The tip flicks back and forth a bit.
Conleth looks to Lilith, then to Alia. "I... I don't know if I wanted to know that you're planning to teach her to 'power slither'."
Angelique rolls her eyes. "It's a new muscle, you'll get there."
Aliandara nods slowly, sipping the soup as Alia offers it to her, hissing a bit at the heat on her sensitive new tongue. She looks over to Lilith. "I um... suppose I'll need new clothes as well."
Conleth shakes his head, a hand to his face. "Well, Lilith did want an excuse to go shopping at some point anyway." he says, hand dropping down to tap his chin. "Though... I suppose this gets me off the hook..."
Lilith grins broadly at that, looking side-long at Conleth. "You think so, hm?" She clapped her hands together excitedly. "I think I might just drag all three of you off to go shopping together when Alia's feeling better. Connie's been wearing the same outfit for months now. Alia's going to have to replace all her pants. And I don't even know how old Salome's robes are, but she deserves at least a reasonable wardrobe!"
Conleth grunts and looks down. "Hey hey, not my fault all you see is the duster... Changed other stuff a few times, had to refit some stuff for the new armor..."
Angelique:"We should at least contact our tailor, get her ceremonial garb updated."
Aliandara rubs the back of her head. "I mean, I was mostly wearing skirts and robes," she offers, "I don't think I have any pants." She raises a hand to consider. "I should think Salome's dress is thousands of years old, we never asked when she created the robes."
Angelique shakes her head. "Well let's put it this way, they're probably so out of date they've been back in style. Twice. But for now we'll find something loose for you to wear. Step one is making sure you don't accidentally kill yourself by forgetting how to keep your fangs sheathed."
Conleth frowns, finally stowing his list with a sigh. "Rrreeegardless, yea, Allie's health comes first... Anything else, well... We'll get to it when we get there, eh?" he asks, looking to Lilith. "And... Stars in the spheres, you're not calling on 'that' for this, at least, right?"
Lilith blinks at that. "No. Well, not unless you want to anyway." She smirked a bit. "I'm going to get you to go out shopping that way someday. But it's not essential right now. But considering you keep ending up that way, we really should buy you some clothes that fit you."
Aliandara blinks in surprise. "Fangs?" She looks to the mirror and pulls her cheek aside, noticing now that her canines were slimmer and more pointed. "What elssssse do I even..." she looks to Angelique.
Angelique shrugs as the zombie moves the empty bowl away. "Becoming a snake gave you retractable fangs, crazy, right? I wasn't too invasive as I examined you but you've developed much greater muscles in your neck and upper body. So I'm suspecting you have both a toxic bite, and the ability to spit it. You'll need to regulate your own body temperature or you'll suffer the effects any snake does, and I suspect you're going to need much larger, purely carnivorous dishes." She raises a finger as she adds a point. "And speech training."
Aliandara flicks her tail some more, hissing obliviously as she thinks about it, trying to mind where her tongue was in her mouth. She makes a bit of a grossed out expression at the mention of spitting but nods. She points to her magic items on the desk. "The bracersssss should help prevent environmental problemssss," she notes, "and the necklace protectssss against poissson."
Angelique:"You aren't wearing them in bed. For now you rest, I might know a good way to help you learn how to slither and swim at the same time."
Conleth thinks it over with a tired look, as his gaze averts from Lilith. "Think it's... Mostly worked out to prevent it happening by accident, at least. At some point, then."
Aliandara finishes the soup off before leaning back down, pulling the sheets up and looking tired already. "Resssst sssoundss nice," she offers, still blushing at her tongue flicking and making her hiss.
Angelique nods and sits herself down. "We both need it. I've only had like ten hours total through this entire week."
