Hi,

I asked your email on twitter the other day. I love your company games, in fact, I almost only play Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 since I got the PS3 (as a 30'something I don't have much time for games).

With my friends I usually play Modern Warfare 2 on domination. One thing I've noticed is that in a lot of matches, usually when the other team is composed of non related, random players. a lot of people doesn't try to play domination but instead just choose the mode as nice, easy way for killing players that do. Not only "campers", but also run & shot type players that never stop by the flag. Lately I've noticed there has been a surge of these types of players. The nice effect is that we win 8 out of 10 matches, that not so nice one is that it is not very fun to win against a team that doesn't try to score any points.

I've been thinking about how your studio could change that, so I tough about the motivations of these people. One motivation is to improve the kill/death ratio. Some people only care about that ratio and doesn't care about the win/lose ratio at all. One small improvement could be to give some weight to the win ratio, like directly showing the win ratio it on a big typeface on the player profile, even before the statistics screen, or even in the player overlay with the name and the tag when you select it on the lobby players list.

The other motivation these people have is the killstreaks. These "non-dominating" players usually get a lot of kill streaks when the other players are trying to dominate or playing the objective on other game modes, since it is easy to stay around your flags or the enemy spawn points and rack a lot of kills. If you think about it, the reward that the killstreaks provide is directly against playing the objective, since when playing the objective it is easier to die and thus harder to get big killstreaks. The fix for that could be to rename the "killstreaks" to "streaks" and make attacking or defending the objective count for it. For example, in domination:

- Successfully dominating a flag: +2 or 3 streak points
- Defending a flag: +2 streak points for player killed
- Killing a random player: +1 streak point.

(more powerful streaks like the chopper gunner or the bomb should need more points that now, since a good player taking a lot of objectives and not dying a lot could easily add a lot of points)

In demolition points could be provided by planting the bomb, defusing it, defending, etc. If playing the objective in objective games could count for the streak, I believe that a lot more players would try to do it, thus improving the multiplayer experience a lot.

What do you think?
