2Beauty. With the proper respect that the author deserves, I decided
3to write the not mentioned scenes I imagined Valerie lived since
4she found the old spell book until a few weeks later after the 
5original story ends. Dialogs from the original story were reposted

13Valerie sighed at the sight of her attic. Covered in dust were 
14dozens of boxes. Some of they had come with the house and 
15since her family and her moved in, nobody had checked them.

17After managing to pass her chubby body over the stretch 
18entrance, Valerie started to clean the boxes. She didn't like to be 
19doing that on her Saturday, but since she wasn't a pretty girl, for 
20not saying ugly, she didn't have other thing to do.

22Her mother and sister did know it too, so by taking advantage of 
23her shy personality, they gave the hard work to Valerie as 
24always.

26The hours passed and Valerie slowly made a progress of all the 
27contents in the boxes until she found a strange chest in the back 
28of the attic. Even it was all dusty, it indicated that it was wrapped 
29with chains recently since she could see the shape of them in the 
30dust.

32"Strange? My mother must have need chains for something and 
33took them from here" reasoned Valerie as she opened the chest 
34curious to find what was inside.

36Great was her disappointment when she only found an old book. 
37Carefully she began to read the yellow pages it contained and 
38Valerie discovered that it was a spell book.

40The book contained several spells. Most of them required a lot of 
41weird items that certainly Valerie couldn't found. Suddenly, she 
42found an easy spell. It didn't require anything more than just 
43pronounce some words. Fortunately for Valerie they were written 
44in English.

46As Valerie revised the spell, she mocked at the meaning of it. 
47"Like it could be so easy" she sighed. For a moment, she 
48imagined how her life could be if the spell could actually work.

50A smile appeared in her face and with that idea in her mind; she 
51read the words of the spell. "Force of Balance hear my request. 
52Grant me anything a person agrees to share with me"

54With no lights, or burning flames or anything that indicated that 
55the spell worked, Valerie blushed at how silly she should have 
56sounded. Placing the book back into the chest, she went 
57downstairs to take a shower.

59The shower proved to be very refreshing, but when she started to 
60dress her mood got down again. Her reflection in the mirror 
61wasn't appealing even for her. Her pale skin didn't help at her 
62other flaws either.

64"Did you finish with the attic?" grinned the sister as Valerie 
65entered into the kitchen.

67"Yes. Here is the list of everything I found in the attic" said 
68Valerie handling her list to her mother.

70"Very good Valerie. Now eat something and go to sleep. You 
71have a lot of work tomorrow" said the mother.

73Seeing at her plate of food, Valerie wished she wouldn't eat that 
74much. She always wondered how she could look with a pounds 
75less. Those thoughts always sad her as she knew that she 
76couldn't change the way she was.

78It was that feeling that reminded her why she cast the spell in the 
79first place. 'What if I'll be able to..." wondered Valerie.

81Looking at her mother and sister were entranced with the soap 
82opera on the TV, Valerie decided that it wouldn't hurt trying to 
83see if the spell could really work "Mom, sis. I'm doing 
84experiment and I need to know if you will agree to give your

88"Whatever" replied her family as they continued watching the

92confirm that the spell worked, but she decided to try her voice

95"Testing" she said and quickly covered her mouth. Her hears 
96couldn't believe what they heard. "Testing" she whispered and 
97again her surprise was incredible. For unbelievable as it sounded, 
98the spell worked. The strong, but still feminine, voice Valerie 
99couldn't be compare to the one she had moments ago.

101"It worked!!" yelled Valerie in her new voice calling the 
102attention of her mother and sister.

104"What happened..." the mother and sister were about to ask at 
105Valerie for her voice when they realized the change in their own 
106ones. "... to our voices!!" they said in a very low voice like it 
107sound more like a whisper. Both women held their throats

109"Don't worry" said Valerie. "I will go to the drugstore and get 
110something for your throats". Valerie's enhanced voice sounded 
111like it was commanding and relaxing at the same time.

113Her family nodded and Valerie rushed to the drugstore.

115In her way to the drugstore, Valerie's mind was racing with the 
116recent events. "I can't believe that the spell actually worked!!" 
117she said trying to get used to her new tone. "I must check the 
118book again to find out a way to reverse the process, otherwise my 
119mother and sister will kill me" worried Valerie.

121When Valerie entered into the drugstore, she found out that 
122Karen Hewers was there buying her usual stuff. She decided to 
123stay quiet for a moment to watch how Karen 'works' at the

381started to convulse and then they fell flat to the ground. "Mom, 
382sis?" asked Valerie to her relatives. "This isn't funny. Stand

386When she couldn't find it, she checked at her mother. The same 
387result. "They are dead!!" gasped Valerie. "This shouldn't

391Inside, she unlocked from her closet the book and checked the 
392description of the spell. She gasped as she read a warning that 
393she was sure it wasn't before. She realized that taking more than

400Quickly Valerie cleaned her eyes as she could swear some words 
401appeared in the book, but there was only her imagination. After

406good with her, but they were the only people in the world that 
407care about her, in a very small degree, but care after all.

1821people was filling her head. She could hear their sorrows and the 
1822pain they were suffering. Valerie cried and using her mighty 
1823voice she asked forgiveness to the world in her last seconds in 
1824this realm.

1826When Valerie's beyond belief beauty left the world, people 
1827began to regain their senses. In the following days, the survivors 
1828of the mankind restart their normal lives forgetting everything 
1829that had happened just a month ago.

1833as it was Valerie's duty to restore the happiness in their lives.
