2Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Hallo
3Herrrrooooo?
4Wizzzargh (GM): I stepped away to shower
5Charles P.: Yeah.
6Wizzzargh (GM): Ayup.
7Charles P.: How d'yall do this fine day?
8Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): I just got outta a nice warm shower
9Nothing like a midday shower
10except maybe a midnight one.
11Charles P.: Ima need you to preface comments like that with NSFW in the future, please.
12Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Sorry?
13Wizzzargh (GM): Charles plays on his phone at work
14his boss could see talk of showers and fire him
15or so I follow the joke
16Charles P.: ^
17Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): The potential person is asking if item making wizards are a thing
18or can be a thing
19Charles P.: Seems like a thing. The sky elfs can do it for sure.
20And PCs can learn skills from masters.
21Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): I am trying to steal them away from a game that is... well the GM has taken a sudden and unaanounce two month break, and a month break before also unannounced.
22Charles P.: I don't see why they'd even hesitate, really.
23Wizzzargh (GM): Item making wizards are not a common thing, but a player could potentially be a magic item making wizard person if that's why they were asking
24I suppose anyone who assembles that Manibuscope counts, really
25Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): WHICH I WILL
26Thats what i want this game
27to do that
28Trilly knows how to now.
29From the potential "id like to play as like a genius artificing wizard, preferably who is (or thinks he is) being whispered to by the gods of tool making/tool use. (not sure if your setting has one. but he could easily just be an eccentric savant hearing voices that are not really there.)"
30Charles P.: It's weird to me that she's aquired that skill.
31Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Shall i throw an invite boss?
32Charles P.: Lol.
33That is not even close
34Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Also... Yeah trilly is wierd.
35Wizzzargh (GM): Sure

37Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Heck i don't even know what Trilly is good at anymore
38been so long
39Wizzzargh (GM): Like a week and a half
40maybe more
41Charles P.: 17 days.
42Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): ....Rude
43Wizzzargh (GM): my soul when 17 days of no game

45Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): So drama

90Wizzzargh (GM): You all probably met Zeven in town while looking for someone to advise Manibuscope construction
91Zeven K.: (since 4 is melee on the chart. and i got it twice. does that mean im good at duel wielding?.)
92Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Trillllly.
93Derf the Bushwhacker: means you can give me one to help hit stuff harder
94Charles P.: Can I retcon picking up some spab moon on the way home. I forgot last time.
95Derf the Bushwhacker: .... oh wait some one bought us all axes at one point
96Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Tib

126Wizzzargh (GM): Alright, you are aware of how to make Plague Amber- A small chunk of treated treesap that can trap disease spirits inside.
127Derf the Bushwhacker should have monster killer cred
128Wizzzargh (GM): Then if you smash it, they get released
129Charles P.: That'd awesome.
130Zeven K.: (whats plague amber?)
131Charles P.: That's*
132Zeven K.: (it traps disease spirts inside?)
133(and you throw it?)
134(to release em?.)
135Wizzzargh (GM): I mean, only if you WANT to release em
136Charles P.: Yeah. You don't catch colds here. You are possesed by disease spirits.
137Wizzzargh (GM): Germ theory? What's that?
138Zeven K.: (does that mean i can cure colds by using plague amber to trap the disease spirits that are effecting somebody and make them go away?.)
139Wizzzargh (GM): Yup
140Derf the Bushwhacker: haaaaaaaaaa choooooo
141Zeven K.: (do i have a saw or knife available?.)
142Charles P.: Ok. So, a little setting. The party is living in an old abandoned mansion that's been cleaned and renovated. It was subject to a landslide a long time ago.
143Wizzzargh (GM): Knife could be a starting weapon, or you could buy a saw for 3coppers or a knife for 5 coppers
14410 coppers= 1 silver
145Derf the Bushwhacker: wimpy knives ... but I did use mine well to make an escape from the sewers
146Charles P.: There are some floating mountains above us that where ensorsceled by Lord Maka, an ancient and powerful wizard who once lived in the aforementioned mansion. They contain his Labrynth. We can't reach them yet.
147Zeven K.: (whats the price of an axe and was i rolling for weapon proficiency or was i rolling for starting weapons?)
148Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): startung weapons
149Zeven K.: (can i have a hammer and a combat pickaxe then?.)
150Wizzzargh (GM): 1 spell replaced one starting weapon
151Zeven K.: (oh )
152Wizzzargh (GM): so you'd just get either the hammer or pickaxke for free
153Zeven K.: (ill go with the pickaxe)
154Charles P.: What we're up to these days is mostly poking around a nearby city, 'Annu Nki' which is... A whole other story. But! There's a wizard there who can fly, I was hoping to aquire that skill and use it to reach the mountains.
155Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): Possibily we should um... visit there again
156And if yall want Beat along for the ride...
157Charles P.: Fun fact. Lord Maka left behind instructions for a magic item called a manuscobe. It seems to function as the spell mage hands, with unlimited uses and range.
158Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): You can try to convince her to allow you to the spab moon
159And trilly knows how to build it
160and wants to
161Dramatically
162Charles P.: Hey that's neat. Do you get a +2 to assemble it?
163Zeven K.: (id like a Saw and a bedroll)
164Wizzzargh (GM): 10 coppers for those then
165Zeven K.: (bedrolls are expensive)
166Charles P.: Also, meet my character...
167Zeven K.: (guess i cant get a knife but i can get a saw and a bedroll ?)
168Tibulus: is an elderly man who can swing a sword or cast a spell, but his real joy in life is the comfort of a soft bed, a warm fire, and a well cooked meal.
169Derf the Bushwhacker has been studying how to help make the manuscobe since he is good at tinkering
170Beatrice Blithesea drinks quietly at the table.
171Tibulus: I'm done with the data dump now. Can Trill roll a D8+2 to attempt to assemble the manuscobe?
172Trillby Dunlow: rolling d8+2
173(
1745
175)
176+2
177= 7
178Wizzzargh (GM): It doesn't much matter who rolls I suppose, but Alazar or Derf really should have since they had relevant skills.
179Zeven K.: (Can my character go outside and saw off part of a sun absorbing plant such as a tree in order to create a "magic item" that releases part of the absorbed sunlight stored inside the wood in order to provide light in the darkness when activated?. or a non magical version that basically does the same thing but instead of releasing the energy as light it releases it as Fire?.)
180Tibulus: Lol, a torch.
181Wizzzargh (GM): That magic item is called a Torch
182Zeven K.: (yea the magic version is not hot though.)
183(because its not releasing it as fire.)
184Wizzzargh (GM): Nah
185Zeven K.: (but it seams like if i need a moon light absorbing plant to make a moonlight absorbing thing. then a sunlight absorbing plant to make a sunlight magic item should be easy)
186Wizzzargh (GM): Fire is already magical and derived from the sun
187so I'm not even kidding when I say you described the in-universe reason that wood burns
188Zeven K.: (ok. so id like to make a torch when i get get the opportunity.)
189(but for now i guess ill assist the party with what ever. preferably after i get the armor off since you said were in a safe mansion?)
190Wizzzargh (GM): When you next pass a hefty tree
191Trillby Dunlow looks at her work
192With the newfound aid of the Artificer Alazar, the steady fingers of Derf and a chunk of moon from the crater courtesy Beatrice, you puzzle out the blueprints for the Manibuscope and assemble the strange device.
193It looks like a clunky gauntlet with a built-in telescope
194Tibulus: Who wants to carry it?
195Trillby Dunlow: It is mine.
196Old man.
197Alazar Beldrith: "would it be possible to make more then one?."
198"it seams like a very useful thing."
199Wizzzargh (GM): You don't see why not- you'd just have to buy more materials.
200Tibulus: "Yeah, the components cost about 3 gold coins though."
201Alazar Beldrith: (so its like mage hand at will right?.)
202Wizzzargh (GM): Correct- by looking through the telescope and miming grabbing things at a distance, you can actually grab them.
203Beatrice Blithesea holds up one finger and shakes her head.
204Tibulus: With unlimited range.
205Like unlimited.
206Alazar Beldrith: (what component supplys the grabbing at a distance effect?.)
207Wizzzargh (GM): The chunk of moonroock placed in a sealed chamber in the gauntlet is what activates it
208without that, it's just a silly gauntlet
209And awkward to use telescope, I suppse
210Beatrice Blithesea clicks a few times.
211Alazar Beldrith: (if we had more and better and better aligned enchanted lenses and a more powerful moonrock or lots more of them could we make far away things look closer yet smaller and pick them up from a distance as if they actually -were- smaller?.)
212Wizzzargh (GM): Sounds like a good time on the Magical Reasearch Carousing tables Alazar...
213Alazar Beldrith: (and thus lighter?.)
214Trillby Dunlow: "I think Misses Mute over there is telling us she won't let us grab any moon from her friend.."
215Tibulus: Ok, more data dump now.
216Charles P.: Annu Nki was a large city ruled by the witch queen Agayba. Long ago a conflict caused the realease of a powerful monster: The Tree of Life. This tree's roots are ever thirsty for water, the essence of life.
217Alazar Beldrith: (how does magic research work?)
218Wizzzargh (GM): You'll want 1000 copper coins and then you'll get to roll on some silly tables
219Charles P.: The invading army and townsfolk alike were sucked dry, placing them into a mummified stasis. The town has been stuck in that moment of time ever since.
220Alazar Beldrith: (oh ok.)
221(i take it plague amber is probably made from tree sap thats some how kept "alive" despite being removed from the tree, and likely works by fooling disease spirits into thinking the amber is the living thing they are currently in or effecting when its actually not so they unwittingly move into it because they cant tell the difference between it and living things there trying to be in or effect. and then when they are in it they cant get out again?.)
222Wizzzargh (GM): Sounds good to me
223Charles P.: The drained people are called Husks. Water can revive them to a state of life. Some Husks have grown desperate and roam the city, searching for the water of life to drink from anything that posseses it.
224Lord Takas mansion currently houses six revived Husks. Tibulus wishes to awaken the entire town.
225There also happened to be a massive thunderstorm brewing, when last we played...
226Tibulus: "So, who wants to visit Annu Nki in a pitch black thunderstorm?"
227Wizzzargh (GM): That's right, so your mad science assemblage of the Manibuscope took place among thunder and lightning...
228Trillby Dunlow: "If you're paying premium rate, old man.. Sure."
229Tibulus: "I sure am."
230"Anybody else?"
231Derf the Bushwhacker: Huh?"
232What would water do to those roots?"
233Trillby Dunlow: "Maybe help them not to notice us..."
234Alazar Beldrith: "how tough are the roots?. do you think they might be able to retain their life sucking quality's if some were made into spears?. that might be a terrifying weapon."
235"might be even better as arrows or crossbow bolts..."
236Derf the Bushwhacker: "Is there a way to poison the tree roots ? Like they seemed to only appear out of one location but move real fast around the place."
237Trillby Dunlow: "And speaking of polearms...I want that one woman's...you know.. the one I killed."
238Alazar Beldrith: "well if we poison water and give the tree poisoned water wouldn't it suck the poison up?."
239Derf the Bushwhacker: "We have never been able to stay around to try to cut the roots off. They are Huge."
240Alazar Beldrith: "..actually if we want to mess up the tree i have an idea.."
241"if we could find disease spirit's that harm plants i know how to make something that might be able to trap them and transport them."
242"then we could unleash them on the tree."
243"and it might distract or weaken it."
244Discussion helps keep up spirits in the few hours march to Annu Nki, though halfway there, the sliding mud of the mountains and flashing lighting paint some ominous scenes of potential landslides. Will you press on, or turn back to the mansion?
245Trillby Dunlow: "We tried to klll the roots at her source... It wasn't great."
246Derf the Bushwhacker: "When?"
247Tibulus: We'll press on.
248Trillby Dunlow: Press on
249Tibulus: "We'll keep an eye out for diseased trees, then."
250Alazar Beldrith: "also ill need a healthy tree to use for materials."
251Wizzzargh (GM): Alright then. Tib, you seem like the lead navigator make a survival roll, 1d8
252Alazar Beldrith: "so let me know if you see one."
253Tibulus: 5
254This is gonna be a miserable march guys. But hopefully we'll come out of it with plenty of revived Husks, and enough loot to make all four of us flush.
255Alazar Beldrith: "i have a question."
256Derf the Bushwhacker: "Plenty of trees in the forest. Not so many around Annu Nki."
257Though the travel is dark, wet, and perilous, Tib has treaded this path many a time, and you reach the gates of Annu Nki with the only side effect being that you should add an inventory slot of 'Wet'. Something flees south from the ruined gates at your approach- a large dog, perhaps.
258Alazar Beldrith: "if the husks need water to revive, whats to stop the rain from doing it?."
259Trillby Dunlow: "I like being paid... "
260"The roots our new friend.."
261Tibulus: "The roots drink them dry as fast as they can drink up the water. Many husks are inside buildings, as well."
262Derf the Bushwhacker: "I have my Bathosphere"
263Alazar Beldrith: "if the roots drink the husks dry whats to stop them from drinking us dry?."
264"we shouldn't go near there with out some method to stop the roots first.."
265Trillby Dunlow: "Nothing..."
266Tibulus: "We have revived Husks by pulling them onto the rooftops, where the roots donot reach. That should be an even easier task now."
267"As well, the Husks that have awoken and wander the streets havr also developed a greater apetite than the ones that sleep. They require a lot more water."
268Wizzzargh (GM): So is the plan to head to the central cathedral, or just see if you can rescue lots of husks wandering the streets?
269Tibulus: "Let's get inside and up onto the roofs as quickly as possible."
270Trillby Dunlow plays around with her toy
271Alazar Beldrith: "hey how much power does that thing have?"
272Tibulus: We're going to go to rich people houses.
273Alazar Beldrith: "i have an idea."
274Derf the Bushwhacker: "Here we go again."
275Alazar Beldrith: "if we had a cup or bucket we could put water in it and use that new thing to move it at a distance to lure the husks into an ambush"
276Tibulus has a giant pot on his back, and carries a roll of tarp.
277Wizzzargh (GM): Tibs been doing that with tubs of water placed outside the city, though it's less 'ambush' and more 'rehydration and relocation'
278In any case!
279Alazar Beldrith: "we might even trick them into climbing onto the roof themselfs to get the water."
280"cause they might chase the floating cup up there."
281Derf the Bushwhacker: "No thanks for that . Some of them want to attack us."
282Alazar Beldrith: "well.. im confused why we are here now.."
283"if we are not here to turn them back to normal."
284"why are we here?."
285Trillby Dunlow: "People and money...blah blah blah.."
286Alazar Beldrith: "oh. we are here to loot the messed up town??..."
287Derf the Bushwhacker: "The secrets of the second floor."
288Tibulus: "We're here to tend the sick, and gather resources for the upkeep at the mansion."
289You traverse the roofs of the stormy, rain-slick old city towards the interior rich district. Strange sounds echo through the city, as the rain has doubtless done much to change the disposition of the husks.
290Alazar Beldrith: "is there a library?. or a place with lots of interesting books?."
291Derf the Bushwhacker: "Front or back door?"
292Tibulus: Lemme know if we get close to anything, we'll be wanting to inveatigate.
293"I wish."
294Trillby Dunlow: "I am raring for another axe murdering."
295You can see a light burning in one of the high towers of the central Cathedral, which even as a black silhouette against the dark and stormy sky, makes you slightly nauseated to look at.
296Tibulus: "We'll be looking for upper story windows, preferably."
297Derf the Bushwhacker: "I don't like the look of that window."
298Tibulus: "We're not here for the castle today."
299"We're here to revive as many husks as possible."
300Derf the Bushwhacker: "Sure sure"
301A little nearer, you will also see a pile of not husks, but corpses piled up in one street below. Atop it like is a spherical cage of thorns the size of a carriage, from which you can see, illuminated by the occasional flash of lightning, skeletal arms holding on to the bones of arms and legs emerge, creating an insanely long composite 'arm' of skeleton bones.
302Alazar Beldrith: (do the roof's around here have rain gutters?.)
303Tibulus: Hp 14
304Derf the Bushwhacker: "Trilby, use the catcher thing to draw one close."
305Wizzzargh (GM): They do not, but the buildings are in such disrepair that the water usually just drains through a crack or off a damaged part of the ceiling
306They are flat roofed, for the most part.
307Tibulus: "What in the hell is that thing."
308Derf the Bushwhacker: "What thing?"
309Alazar Beldrith: "something we should stay away from im guessing."
310Tibulus: Scroll up to the bold text, bc I think you missed something important.
311Trillby Dunlow: "How?"
312"Like... the ball or the arms...?"
313Tibulus: "Yeah, we aren't going near that abomination."
314Tibulus waves the group onward.
315Derf the Bushwhacker: "That is the window I mentioned. I dunno what it is unless it was the figure who I saw flying in once."
316Wizzzargh (GM): You leave the undead creature to squat above it's harvest of the dead and look elsewhere in the city... if you head north you can keep the illuminated window in sight, if you head south, it will no longer face your general direction
317Tibulus: South works for me then.
318Hey, would the manuscobe be able to put a gapple up into that window?
319Wizzzargh (GM): You believe so, though the nausea from peering at the stronghold through a telescope would be most unpleasant
320Tibulus: Someone'll have to take one for the team, if we decide to do that.
321In the meantime, we head south!
322Wizzzargh (GM): 8
323Ni'Len (Beat/Trilly): b
324Wizzzargh (GM): The next meaningful encounter in the rain-slick city will be 2 men clad in rags and wielding ruined bits of building as weapons.
325Tibulus: No promising houses yet?
326Wizzzargh (GM): They're squatting in a relatively unruined rich looking house
327Trillby Dunlow: "Oi... You put that down now."
328Derf the Bushwhacker gets ready now
329Tibulus: "Who wants to lurk in the shadows, and who wants to talk to them?"
330Wizzzargh (GM): Looks like Trillby already talked to em
331Tibulus: Or yeah, announce our presence.
332Derf the Bushwhacker: I'll try lurking and ready for trouble."
333Rag-Clad Man: Not likely... though I don't take you for one of the defenders of the city.
334Alazar Beldrith: "im not feeling very well today. i think i'd like to stay out of danger if i can."
335Trillby Dunlow: "Look Rag-man... We are here to transport you aeway from danger..."
336Alazar Beldrith looks around for random low value junk that could be salvaged from the surroundings
337Trillby Dunlow: "Unless you are a danger for us.. then well..."
338Tibulus: The great diplomat, trillby dicklow.
339Rag-Clad Man: Well, our army is broken... If you know of a safe space, we've little reason not to turn deserter.
340Tibulus: Oho! It worked. I did not forsee that even a little.
341Other Ragged Man: Safe... ha! Those roots'll be back, sooner or later... damn witches!
342Tibulus: "Yeah, we can get you out. We're rounding up folks to take out of the city."
343Trillby Dunlow: "This isn't our first skull moon, gentle rag-men."
344Rag-Clad Man: Tell us a path out of this accursed place then, and we can be on our way.
345Alazar Beldrith: (what are the walls of the near by buildings made of?.)
346Trillby Dunlow: "We can escort you out... the safe paths are always changing with the protectors' whims."
347Wizzzargh (GM): This section of the city is mostly of stacked stones
348The mortar holding the stones together being in bad shape
349Tibulus: "Sure, but if you travel with us we can give you shelter in this foreign land as well. We'll be wanting to sweep this house for anything we can use or sell, by the way."
350Derf the Bushwhacker: ""It is Very different away from the city. You won't recognize much. The time here has stopped for you."
351Rag-Clad Man: Loot the place and get out? Sounds like a plan. He grins
352Alazar Beldrith: (can i use my pick to pry a appropriately sized stone loose and then use my saw to cut it into a sharpend throwing stone?.)
353Tibulus: "Great!"
354A discus!
355Wizzzargh (GM): Your pickaxe would be better for splintering the stone than the saw, but yeah, you could do that
356Trillby Dunlow moves to loot
357Alazar Beldrith: (ok then ill use the pick and try to craft a throwing stone)
358Tibulus: I don't know how much authority the party leader has, but...
359Alazar Beldrith: "hey how is everyone on ranged weapons?."
360Tibulus: Ima try this; We all loot the house.
361Alazar Beldrith: "i may be able to make us some."
362Trillby Dunlow hols up her device and a knife.
363Trillby Dunlow: holds*
364Derf the Bushwhacker keeps an eye out from above. "Save me something good."
365Alazar Beldrith: (are there any wooden doors in the house?.)
366Tibulus: Tibulus has a once a day ranged fire attack.
367Wizzzargh (GM): There are some inside Alazar
368Alazar Beldrith: (can i saw them apart to get material to carve some throwing javelins with?.)
369Wizzzargh (GM): Probably not unless you spend a few hours here, which seems unlikely....
370You loot a total of 60 coins from a small, rotten chest, and find some bronze knives and clay plates.
371Trillby Dunlow: "Only the best for our brave protector."
372Alazar Beldrith: (what about just a decent length of wood and sticking a bronze knife on the end?)
373(To make a spear?)
374Wizzzargh (GM): You could manage that pretty quick
375Tibulus: So if we can do that ten more times...
376Wizzzargh (GM): Be sure to write it down as 'crude spear'
377Alazar Beldrith: "hey should i make us some spears?."
378"i could use some of those bronze knives to do it."
379Ragged Man: Better than nothing, I'd take two for me and my friend here
380Tibulus: "Go ahead."
381Alazar Beldrith makes three nice long two handed crude spears
382Wizzzargh (GM): Coast is clear Derf- nothing approaches while the others loot
383Alazar Beldrith gives 2 to the rag men
384Alazar Beldrith: (so they have something to defend themselves with)
385Ragged Man: Now some shields and We'd be a phalanx again, eh?
386They seem much more confident with weapons in their hands.
387Alazar Beldrith: (is there any metal in the chest?)
388Wizzzargh (GM): The hinges
389Alazar Beldrith: (like metal bindings holding it together?)
390(also how are the door handles shaped?)
391Wizzzargh (GM): nah, it wasn't that fancy
392Alazar Beldrith: (could i salvage the door handles and use them and other door sections to make a pair of shields?)
393Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, you could make wooden shields, but that would take an hour or two.
394Trillby Dunlow lifts her sheild and polearm...
395Trillby Dunlow: "Rag-men after my own heart."
396Wizzzargh (GM): Might be best to just collect the materials for now
397Alazar Beldrith: (what if i just saw the door apart in such a way that the existing door handles work as the shield handles?)
398"is there any cloth or rope?"
399Trillby Dunlow: "Leave the men's rags on their bodies."
400Alazar Beldrith: "i have an idea on how to maybe make some quick and not very balanced shields."
401Ni'Len: Brb I wanna grab some foodz.
402Wizzzargh (GM): Cloth has rotted away long ago in this place. Sawing the door in half would give you some VERY ungainly shields.
403Tibulus: Just bring a door and craft that stuff back at the mansion.
404Alazar Beldrith: "if we tied rope through a door segment sawed correct it could help brace the door to their arm. then they just use the existing handle and the tied down binding. and they have shields."
405Derf the Bushwhacker is looking for more wandering husks
406Tibulus: "It'll take too long and the roots might show up."
407"We're moving on."
408Wizzzargh (GM): Derf, you can hear noises in the distance, but it's too far to see for sure.
409Tibulus: Next house!
410Alazar Beldrith: "ok."
411Tibulus: Bring a door though! Hoplites sound awesome.
412Alazar Beldrith attempts to pry the nails out of a door and keep them and bring the door (plus the no longer attached hinges) with
413Derf the Bushwhacker: "Let's switch houses."
414Wizzzargh (GM): Another relatively intact house... the noises Derf heard are a few blocks south from the new house, he reckons
415Tibulus: We loot it.
416Alazar Beldrith: "i might need to saw the spears down in size a little."
417"they need two hands for them at that length."
418Wizzzargh (GM): 5
419Alazar Beldrith: "so i dont know if they could have both the spears as they are and shields."
420"but it would be easy to fix."
421Trillby Dunlow tries to flirt with rag-men....
422Trillby Dunlow: "You boys like scars?"
423Wizzzargh (GM): 9
424Tibulus: I believe hoplites had long af spears.
425Wizzzargh (GM): Trillby, your flirting goes over with disappointing results... It's tough having a acid-melted face....
426Alazar Beldrith: (by IRL logic i agree. but by game logic i made spears attempting to be 1d10 dmg items.)
427Wizzzargh (GM): Nothing of value in this house, but you do find a very well-made cellar door of bronze, with an engraving of the bell upon it.
428It's locked though.
429Tibulus: A bell, or The Bell.
430Alazar Beldrith: (they are crude tho so no idea if that worked or not.)
431Trillby Dunlow: I am really not surprised.
432Like ever.
433Alazar Beldrith: "oh hey bronze."
434"can i ditch this door and take that one?."
435Wizzzargh (GM): (they're like, 1 damage die step down, so 2-handed would be 1d8 and 1-handed would be 1d6
436If you can find a way to get it out of it's stone flooring....
437Tibulus: Hey! Let's get Derf in here! Or maybe Alazar can just take the whole door off.
438Alazar Beldrith attempts to break the door's hinges with his pickaxe
439Trillby Dunlow: ?"
440Could we try the bell first*
441Tibulus: "Derf! We got a lock needs pickin!"
442Alazar Beldrith stops if it can in time
443Alazar Beldrith: if he*
444"good idea."
445"i just assumed it was abandoned"
446"or full of things out to get us."
447Derf the Bushwhacker: "Ok. Who wants to be lookout?"
448Wizzzargh (GM): It'll take some time to pickaxe through the stone and bronze hinges, one hit won't ruin em...
449Tibulus: Yeah, ring that silver bell while you're at it. It worked before right?
450Ringing the bell yields no results.
451Tibulus: "Everyone wants to be the lookout."
452Derf the Bushwhacker climbs down
453Tibulus: "Except Trillby, she'll assist."
454Derf the Bushwhacker: "Where is this door?"
455Alazar Beldrith: (yea it takes time. guna take at least 3 solid hits minimum to get the lock. and both hinges. more if theres more then 2 hinges.)
456(likely more)
457(if they dont each break 1 part of it in a single hit.)
458Derf the Bushwhacker: "Don't break a lock."
459Trillby Dunlow: "Never break a lock."
460Alazar Beldrith: "why?."
461Wizzzargh (GM): The door is an old bronze cellar door Derf. The lock is different from those in the castle, and hopefulyl easier to pick'
462Derf the Bushwhacker: "They are useful and fun"
463Alazar Beldrith: "oh."
464"it would take alot more swings to get the rock around the lock."
465"but i suppose a lock has alot better resale value if its intact"
466Derf the Bushwhacker takes out something and studies the lock before trying to open it
467Trillby Dunlow: "If you want some help...."
468Derf the Bushwhacker: "Sure, Tril."
469Wizzzargh (GM): Always nice to have a hand to hold picks... roll 1d8+2 when ready derf
470Alazar Beldrith keeps an eye out for threats
471Trillby Dunlow gives encouragement and advice and guidance.
472Wizzzargh (GM): The rainy streets seem clear, but the noise from the south Derf noted might be drawing nearer
473Derf the Bushwhacker fiddles with the lock maneuvering some picks 8]
474Wizzzargh (GM): With a satisfying click, it opens!
475Tibulus: "Oh dear. We should check that out after sweeping the cellar..."
476Derf the Bushwhacker: "~click~ "Cheap thing."
477Wizzzargh (GM): Derf, Trill- this is no cellar after all!
478Tibulus: We head inside in battle formation.
479Derf the Bushwhacker hopes a monster isn't hiding below.'
480Wizzzargh (GM): It's a long tunnel lined with empty torch sconces- looks to be heading towards the central Cathedral
481Trillby Dunlow pulls out her torch..
482Trillby Dunlow: "Gentlemen or rags and riches?"
483of*
484Tibulus: "Fancy."
485Ragged Man: We've gotten slim picking from looting so far..
486But we've got these now.
487Alazar Beldrith: (id like to stay second last in the marching order if i can)
488Tibulus: "Before we investigate this, we should deal with that noise, to make sure our escape route is clear."
489They clucnk their shoddy armaments together
490Trillby Dunlow: "Is that a 'Let us keep looting?' or a 'lets get out of here."
491Alazar Beldrith: (or third last)
492Derf the Bushwhacker makes sure the door won't lock behind us and follows.
493Wizzzargh (GM): Tib, you want to take a quick scouting excursion to check out the noise before enering the tunnel?
494Trillby Dunlow: "...if the old man is going I ought to too..."
495Derf the Bushwhacker: brb
496A quick look around a corner reveals what looks like a dozen husks dancing in the rain and, apparently incidentally, moving north. Despite the hydration from the sky, they still look withered and mummified, corpselike with their sunken eyes and long white hair.
497Tibulus: Yep.
498A dozen. Let's revive em!
499Trillby Dunlow: "Sir...they are mummified still...but the rain..."
500"I feel a trap."
501Alazar Beldrith: "i dont wana go near them. theres probably roots draining them right now."
502Tibulus: Everyone should already be up on the roofs, so we can just hook as many as possible and bind them. The tarp is for making a sluice so we can hot them with maximum water.
503Hit them*
504Wizzzargh (GM): The lighting is pretty bad- you'd have to get a light source closer to them to see if there's roots sucking their legs or something
505Tibulus: Lasso rolls, anybody?
506Are they steaming, btw?
507I remember they steamed last time.
508Wizzzargh (GM): Yup
509Derf the Bushwhacker: "Lasso again? I'll try
510Tibulus: "Thanks, Derf."
511Wizzzargh (GM): Water vanishes as it touches them anywhere- it's not just their mouths that is removing water
512Trillby Dunlow: "Lasso...eye old man."
513Derf the Bushwhacker makes a lasso and swings it out trying to snatch one. 17
514Derf the Bushwhacker: "Got one."
515Tibulus: Prolly why they're dancing: Loadsa roots gnawing they're feet!
516Derf the Bushwhacker starts hauling it up
517Tibulus: Their*
518Wizzzargh (GM): You drag one up!The others don't seem to notice, but it seems feisty and flails long-nailed hands at you as you haul it up. Vague muttering sounds of 'wa wa wa' come from its parched throat
519What'll you do once it reaches the rooftop?
520Tibulus upends his pot onto it's head.
521Derf the Bushwhacker: "Give it what it wants."
522Wizzzargh (GM): 20
523Tibulus: Oh dear.
524Trillby Dunlow: oh dear...
525Wizzzargh (GM): (nono it was saving vs accursed thirst!)
526There's a puff of steam as the water flows over it, but then the remaining water from your pot flows over a perfectly ordinary looking 1 1
527Tibulus: Oho!
528Wizzzargh (GM): Middle-aged man with strong looking muscles.
529Tibulus offers him a hand up.
530Tibulus: "C'mon up, youngster."
531Trillby Dunlow: "Heeelllllllo"
532Wizzzargh (GM): You pull him up, give him a rundown, etc etc?
533Tibulus: Yep.
534Wizzzargh (GM): He is Moctlot, armorer and bronze smith.
535Derf the Bushwhacker recovers the lasso and looks for another.
536Tibulus: Swanky.
537Keep rollin those lassos!
538Wizzzargh (GM): We'll just use one roll as a rough estimate of how many you catch before they dance away
539Trillby Dunlow: 1
540....
541Tibulus: You suck trillby.
542Trillby Dunlow: .....
543....
544Derf the Bushwhacker: can I roll it?
545Tibulus: Nope!
546Trillby Dunlow: "I am not great at this throwing thing..."
547Tibulus: We got a smith, that's a win.
548Pulling others up proves impossible! Looks like 'dancing because roots were sucking at their feet' was dead on
549Some fruitless tug-of-wars with sucking roots ensues
550Derf the Bushwhacker: "I'll try showing you some tricks.'
551Wizzzargh (GM): But eventually the 11 remaining have danced/been pulled by roots to other portions of the city, where youd have to leave the rooftops to pursue
552So you CAN pursue, but you'd definitely be fighting roots if you do.
553Tibulus: We'll worry more about Moctlot when we get to the mansion. At the moment he'll be brought along and offered Tibs crude spear.
554Derf the Bushwhacker: "So mister where was your home?"
555Trillby Dunlow: "I want to get more of them..."
556Wizzzargh (GM): 10
557Tibulus: Back to the new castle entrance!
558Wizzzargh (GM): Moctlot and the 2 invaders get along well enough. It seems neither of them take their long-ended war seriously now.
559Tibulus: Thank goodness.
560Trillby Dunlow: Invaders willing to bunk up with us?
561Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, they wanna loot stuff!
562Trillby Dunlow: "So Rag men... what are you all about?"
563Wizzzargh (GM): They were soldiers sent to sack this city long ago.
564Derf the Bushwhacker: (( where are we going? ))
565Tibulus: Into the door you picked earlier.
566You return to the tunnel in the 'cellar' and walk a long ways...
567Trillby Dunlow: Well yes.. but i am sure they have hobbies.. or professions besides
568Wizzzargh (GM): Not really
569Tibulus: Prolly farmers. That's what most soldiers come from.
570Derf the Bushwhacker takes his time incase of surprises
571Wizzzargh (GM): Professional soldiers, actually
572(if you take them at face value anywya)
573Tibulus: We can do chatting at the safety of Lord Takas mansion though. Silence is best for dungeon looting.
574Eventually, the tunnel opens into what looks like large catacomb.
575Derf the Bushwhacker: " and watching for trouble"
57613- Place of the Skull
577Wizzzargh (GM): This is an earthern cavern with a sandy floor and two stone structures filled with alcoves the right size for a skull- 26 of them are occupied by skulls, but many others are strewn about haphazardly.
578There are 26 skulls here. Their alcoves are labelled and there is a riddle scrawled in large letters in the dirt.
579Alazar Beldrith takes a hand full of sand and puts it in pack
580Alazar Beldrith: (sand in eyes trick for later)
581Wizzzargh (GM): There are two tunnel to the north.
582as well as the one you came through to the south.
583Tibulus: Or, sand in all you stuff, for later. Heh.
584What's the riddle?
585Riddle:
586Wizzzargh (GM): "There once was a man out for plunder
587X marked the spot, 6 feet under
588but alas, he still read on
589he was naught but a simpleton
590and so he was torn all asunder"
591Derf the Bushwhacker checks the edges of the room and doesn't mess with skulls or weird writing.
592Wizzzargh (GM): The riddle is simply drawn in the sandy floor as it by someone dragging a pole through the sand.
593Tibulus: Any Xs around here?
594Wizzzargh (GM): There's a big boulder blocking the tunnel here, Derf.
595It's yellow-brown and very smooth, but not perfectly spheriical
596Derf the Bushwhacker: (( which one? ))
597Trillby Dunlow: "soo... don't dilly dally?"
598Derf the Bushwhacker: "somebody blocked this tunnel up."
599Wizzzargh (GM): In addition to the riddle, there is script on the skull alcoves
600Looks like names, a few of which have X's.
601Derf the Bushwhacker: "I listen before looking down the other tunnel
602Wizzzargh (GM): Sounds silent, Derf, but the other tunnel is at least clear,
603Tibulus: What're the red and blue dots?
604Wizzzargh (GM): Heck if I know
605Tibulus: We proceed.
606Derf the Bushwhacker: I go down a short way to check it out.
607Wizzzargh (GM): Derf scouts ahead
608Derf the Bushwhacker: "Looks like a passageway in this one."
609A huge room, the center choked with a massive taproot and a veritable forest of smaller roots around it
610Wizzzargh (GM): Presumably this is below the tree on the ground level
611Tibulus: Eesh.
612Derf the Bushwhacker: "shit"
613Tibulus: Let's try the other way first.
614There are exits in each corner of the massive room- you can reach them without disturbing the (for now) dormant roots
615Wizzzargh (GM): The other tunnel was blocked by that weird boulder
616Tibulus heads back and starts singing to the boulder.
617Derf the Bushwhacker: "Leads to the big tree room."
618Tibulus: 4
619Wizzzargh (GM): Tib, the earth grumbles at you and not much happens... but the boulder was utterly unreactive. You don't think it's actually rock.
620Tibulus: Ugh. Stupid spell that plays like a game of craps.
621"Well, that's weird."
622Tibulus examines it more closely.
623Trillby Dunlow: "Lemme try..."
624Wizzzargh (GM): Tapping it, sounds hollow, maybe... looks like the coloration is discoloration from time, not it's base color.
625Tibulus: "Anybody wanna try cracking it open?"
626Trillby Dunlow pulls out her polearm
627Derf the Bushwhacker: "maybe water it,"
628Tibulus smears a wet hand across the surface.
629Wizzzargh (GM): No response from the smooth but gritty surface. Looks like it's not thirsty for water.
630Trillby Dunlow: 18
631Whacks it
632Wizzzargh (GM): You jam your polearm through it with a stupendous effort, creating a tiny crack.
633Derf the Bushwhacker: "hope it isn't an egg of some kind ......"
634Wizzzargh (GM): Enough to peer through if you wished
635Tibulus: That is a very ominous offer.
636Tibulus peers in
637Trillby Dunlow: yes
638Wizzzargh (GM): Looks like an interior of an egg... no, there's some strange holes facing down... oho
639You figure out what it is, though it takes a while due to your unusual angle
640You are peering into the cranium of a massive humanoid skull
641Trillby Dunlow: "Where are it's insides?"
642Tibulus: Oh gods.
643Welp, can we push it back?
644Wizzzargh (GM): Looks pretty clean in there Trillby
645It's the size of a peasant's hut and by it's position, its face must be pretty well-set into the sandy ground.
646so no
647Trillby Dunlow: "Can I borrow that pick?"
648"Also... we probably shouldn't dally about that riddle there..."
649Alazar Beldrith lends the pick
650Alazar Beldrith: "dont break it or you owe me a new one"
651Tibulus: It should be fairly brittle. Tib will lend a hand.
652Trillby Dunlow works to open the skull more
653Wizzzargh (GM): Brittle but thick. It'll take maybe 10 minutes to hack an opening big enough for a person to enter
654Trillby Dunlow: "I am curious it is it a whole body or just the skull... or if it is even a real skull
655"
656Tibulus: I'll take that over having to traverse the root room.
657Wizzzargh (GM): Since Derf is probably keeping watch as usual...
658Tibulus: Sry fer the disrespec, mister giant.
659Wizzzargh (GM): Something comes crawling down the tunnel that leads to the root room!
660Derf the Bushwhacker: "Warning warning"
661Ni'Len: brb more snacks are needed
662Tibulus was taking a break anyway and goes to investigate.
663Ni'Len: shit nvm
664Wizzzargh (GM): Looks like a husk, but it is clad in black robes rather than old rags, and it crawls pitifully along the ground for one of its legs has been lopped off at the knee
665Trillby Dunlow: "MY WOMAN!"
666Tibulus: Hey! Neato.
667Can we stuff it into my pot.
668??m
669???*
670Trillby Dunlow: "Off with her head...i doubt she will be a friendly friend.."
671off with her head?*
672Derf the Bushwhacker: "I think I remember this one."
673Alazar Beldrith sets the door down at an angle trying to set it up as cover to hide behind
674Alazar Beldrith draws his throwing rock
675Wizzzargh (GM): Roll to stuff in pot as aan attack if you wish
676Tibulus: "Yeah, she's one of the elite guards. She probably has knowledge of the complex."
677Derf the Bushwhacker readies his axe for an attack
678Tibulus: Do I get a BAB?
679Wizzzargh (GM): Yer level 2 so yeah, you should have a +1
680Alazar Beldrith shrughs and sets his spear leaning against the wall to easily get it and use it once the rocks thrown
681Tibulus: 4
682Ugh. I hate dnd.
683Derf the Bushwhacker decides to jump up and help Tib do some stuffing.
684Wizzzargh (GM): 19
685Tibulus: Yay for derf.
686Less yay for dying...
687Trillby Dunlow: "STUFFING IT IS!"
688Wizzzargh (GM): Tib takes a fist to his face as he tries to grapple the husk... the feeble blow doesn't hurt him but he feels the moisture being leeched from him!
689Save vs Dehydration Tib!
690Trillby Dunlow: 6
691Tibulus: 2
692Trillby Dunlow: My luck tanight.
693Wizzzargh (GM): Tib has shrivelled into a husk!
694Alazar Beldrith panics a bit at the sight of the husk draining a comrade and throws his rock at it
695Tibulus: Yeah. It's gonna be one of those fights.
696Wizzzargh (GM): Anyone got water? Tib thirsts!
697Alazar Beldrith: (i roll a 1d20 right?)
698Wizzzargh (GM): right
699Tibulus: Well, Tib does.
700Derf the Bushwhacker changes direction for the water near Tib and dumps some on him
701Trillby Dunlow rushes to pour some of the water onto Tib
702Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d20
703(
70412
705)
706= 12
707Trillby Dunlow: So one of us helps
708Wizzzargh (GM): Tibhusk will spend his next actions chugging water and rehydrating into a real human bean
709roll 1d3 damage Alazar- you hit the husk!
710Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d3
711(
7121
713)
714= 1
715Tibulus: Do I lose more years? Bc Tib only had so many to start with...
716Trillby Dunlow: "I just wanted her kickass glaive..."
717Derf the Bushwhacker sees Tib re form and goes into attack mode.
718Wizzzargh (GM): The improvised weapon leaves a bloodles gash on the husk. It turns to you and you see it has bright green eyes in its sunken sockets, and it crawls towards Alazar at a not particularly impressive speed
719Tibulus: Ugh..ok, let's try this...
720Alazar Beldrith: "AAHHH help! stop it from getting me please!"
721Tibulus throws his tarp over it.
722Wizzzargh (GM): (And no, no age tib)
723Alazar Beldrith: ". ! "
724Derf the Bushwhacker slashes with his axe
725Wizzzargh (GM): Derf could get 2 actions in before tib is rehydrated tho
726so roll thens
727Derf the Bushwhacker: 7
728and yet another
729Alazar Beldrith: "Hey you two i gave spears to."
730Wizzzargh (GM): You hit the black robe to no avail
731Trillby Dunlow tries to stuff her again
732Wizzzargh (GM): 7 morale
733Derf the Bushwhacker: 6
734Trillby Dunlow: 4
735Alazar Beldrith: "could you pick this door up and push it so it falls ontop of the husk?."
736Ragged Man: You want us to shank that thing?
737Alazar Beldrith: rolling 2d6
738(
7393
740+
7414
742)
743= 7
744Ragged Man: Eh, or that...
745Trillby Dunlow: "Stuff it in the pot!"
746Alazar Beldrith: "that works too but i figure if we trap it under the door"
747Wizzzargh (GM): Roll 1d20+2 Alazar
748Alazar Beldrith: "then it wont be able to go anywhere"
749Tibulus: Or tarp...
750Alazar Beldrith: "and we can poke it from a safe distance."
751(yea but tarp is flexible)
752(and less heavy)
753rolling 1d20+2
754(
7551
756)
757+2
758= 3
759(keep in mind i asked them to do it)
760Tibulus: Tarp and tie, guys. Tarp and tie.
761Alazar Beldrith: (I am not going near it)
762(so im guessing they probably wont wana either)
763Wizzzargh (GM): The crawling husk gives a leap and they push the door down behind her, missing her by a good three feet.
764Alazar Beldrith: (since this was probably a diplomacy roll rquivelant?)
765(oh ok.)
766Wizzzargh (GM): Tib is reformed, and Alazar keeps backing away as the husk crawls after him
767Derf the Bushwhacker runs for the tarp to try to cover it.
768Tibulus: Tarp 3
769Yeah.
770Wizzzargh (GM): Tib trips over the fallen door
771BUT
772Derf the Bushwhacker grabs up the tarp tho
773Wizzzargh (GM): As the husk is TOO THIRSTY AND MAD to do anything but go after the one who hurt it
774and Alazar isn't standing still
775Tibulus: This is a shitshow. We dueled two of these guys last session. Wtf.
776Wizzzargh (GM): You can EVENTUALLY catch it in the tarp
777Trillby Dunlow: 12
778Tibulus: Lol.
779Trillby Dunlow: Finally.
780Wizzzargh (GM): Good timing Trillby
781Tibulus: Tarp, tie, stuff in a pot. Three easy steps.
782Derf the Bushwhacker hurls the tarp from behind to attempt to blind and entangle it 3
783Trillby Dunlow: Step four is a mystery
784step five is profit tho
785Derf the Bushwhacker: "Now get stuffed!"
786Tibulus: Always.
787Wizzzargh (GM): 1 husk orientation
788The husk is stuffed into the pot upside down
789To prevent it using arms to wriggle out effectively
790Derf the Bushwhacker: "That was not expected."
791Wizzzargh (GM): 1 foot dangles out the top from its double imprisonment of tarp and pot
792Alazar Beldrith retreives his spear while the husk is distracted and not chasing him as soon as he can
793Tibulus: Ok then! Back to the skull!
794Trillby Dunlow: "Anyone see it's weapon?"
795Derf the Bushwhacker goes back to guarding
796Alazar Beldrith attempts to retreive his throwing stone if he can do so and do so safely
797Derf the Bushwhacker: "Didn't see it Trilby"
798Wizzzargh (GM): The husk had neither weapon nor giant bull-head helmet
799More work at the skull, you break through!
800You can wiggle inside and get to work breaking through the far end if you wish
801Trillby Dunlow: "Seems...a dead head."
802Tibulus: Is there a neck hole to peer through?
803Alazar Beldrith retreives his door
804Wizzzargh (GM): Sure
805Tibulus: OMFG.
806Seems like a dead end of a collapsed sandy tunnel, but you can see the upper half of the huge skeleton is humanoid, with arms
807Wizzzargh (GM): but the bottom is like that of a fish
808Alazar Beldrith: (giant dead mermaid skeleton?.)
809Tibulus: "I've seen one of these before. Smaller though."
810Wizzzargh (GM): Seems a reasonable guess
811Tibulus hacks away with trillby.
812Wizzzargh (GM): You can squeeze through the area where the vertebrae connected to the skull without further haacking
813Ni'Len: brb snaaaaacccks
814Wizzzargh (GM): But the tunnel is collapsed and doesn't seem to go anywhere...
815Alazar Beldrith attempts to figure out what manner of creature this skeleton came from
816Alazar Beldrith: (are knowledge rolls a thing in this game?.)
817Tibulus: Does he have a pack with silver like the last one... Only with GIANT sized coins??
818Wizzzargh (GM): Fraid not
819Anyone have the 'Ningen of the Sea' book?
820Tibulus: It's at the mansion.
821Wizzzargh (GM): That's how 'knowledge checks' work- if you have a relevant book you can ask a question about that topic
822Books are good for 1d6 questions, generally
823then you need new literature
824Tibulus: I don't see how putting a name to the skelly would be a good use of a question though.
825Does Alazar want any giant fish bones? Those're like spears or rapiers right?
826Alazar Beldrith attempts to determine if the skeleton would have any useful functions if crafted using the art of artifice
827Alazar Beldrith: (perhaps something related to water?)
828(given it seams to have been a sea creature?)
829Wizzzargh (GM): You reckon the most valuable (magically speaking) part would be the vertebrae that joins the fish and human halves
830Tibulus: Oho! The specialest piece.
831Derf the Bushwhacker: (( would my book Old Lords before Men have any reference to it? ))
832Alazar Beldrith: "hey since you've still got my pickaxe. could you pick the vertebrae that joins the fish and humanoid halves out and bring it to me?."
833"i wana make something with it later"
834Tibulus picks it up and passes it through the hole.
835Wizzzargh (GM): There's no flesh remaining, and it will come loose with a single thwack
836Alazar Beldrith: "it seams like something that might be useful in magically joining a humanoid to something else."
837"or in a number of other things."
838Tibulus: Ok then, it looks like we've only got one path now.
839Wizzzargh (GM): Unless you care to head to the surface, yup
840Heading to the Room of Roots?
841Tibulus: Yep.
842Alazar Beldrith: "hey if your not going to do it"
843"can i have my pick back?"
844"so i can do it myself?"
845Wizzzargh (GM): Oh no, he got your the vertebrae
846Alazar Beldrith: (ok then. so ill add it to my inventory)
847(Guess i have to ditch the sand then. oh hey did the sand dry out the wetness while it was in my pack?)
848Wizzzargh (GM): Hah
849sure
850Tibulus: Lol. Sand should be permantent until you spend an hour cleaning your pack.
851Wizzzargh (GM): He can dump out the sand, what takes an hour is removing the sandy adjective from everything
852Alazar Beldrith dumps the sand out of pack
853Alazar Beldrith: (but all the contents are now sand covered)
854Wizzzargh (GM): anyway, there are 3 other tunnels out of the root room. Wanna just pick one so as not to linger in the root room?
855Tibulus: Ok then, exits?
856Wizzzargh (GM): NE NW SE
857Tibulus: Coin flip.
8582
859SE we go!
860Derf the Bushwhacker: "We know South and West"
861Wizzzargh (GM): You scurry across the room of roots. Some of them seem to move in the corner of your eye, but maybe it was ust your imagination.
862Down a stone tunnel...
863Tibulus: I need centering.
864Derf the Bushwhacker: "DANG!"
865Tibulus: Psychadelic.
866"Shush!"
867A strange mist swirls in this room, and there are colorful vortexes swirling in pits in the ground.
868In the mist you, catch glimpses of Bronze armored men and flaming catapults besieging the city.
869Derf the Bushwhacker: "looks magicy"
870Tibulus: Hol
871Holy cow*
872"Sure does."
873Wizzzargh (GM): You can see there are roots dangling from the ceiling in this room as well
874though there are not nearly as many as in the root room
875Tibulus: Aw, garbage.
876Alazar Beldrith: "i dont like this. lets leave..."
877Derf the Bushwhacker looks up
878Alazar Beldrith: (oh wait)
879(hes scouting ahead right?)
880(i dont see that cause im not there??.)
881Wizzzargh (GM): Well, nothing eats his face and we can assume he reports back to everyone
882Derf the Bushwhacker: "I think this is below the root source on the floor above."
883Tibulus: We're in a pod after the mad rush.
884Wizzzargh (GM): Or that
885Tibulus: Ok then. Tib sniffs it.
886Wizzzargh (GM): Makes you feel a little sleepy.
887Tibulus: Good stuff.
888Yawn "Yeah, let's keep working counter clockwise."
889Wizzzargh (GM): 4
890Derf the Bushwhacker looks for dripping water
891Wizzzargh (GM): None, these rooms have all been quite dry
892You head north, and even without Derf scouting it, you can smell the metallic tang of blood in the air down this tunnel.
893Alazar Beldrith: "i really think we should go.. one of us almost got stuck huskifyed and i think thats plenty of near death for now?."
894Derf the Bushwhacker: (( where are we? ))
895Tibulus: "Yeah, but we're fine so far, y'know?"
896Wizzzargh (GM): this is the NE tunnel in the room of roots
897Derf the Bushwhacker scouts a bit
898Alazar Beldrith: "ok but dont expect me to scout ahead. im feeling rather lousy today. my joins ache and my bones feel like as if id fall to pieces at the first solid blow or something.."
899(joints*)
900Wizzzargh (GM): Derf, you hold a burning torch high as you peer into this room...
901Derf the Bushwhacker: (( yes ))
902"whoa all red stuff"
903Swimming pools of red liquid reflect your torchlight- enough blood for a city, you feel... A grotesque and hunched figure rests at a point between them, like an unholy combination of man and flea
904Tibulus: Need centering...
905Wizzzargh (GM): 4
906Tibulus: Oh god go back.
907Wizzzargh (GM): You don't think it's noticed your light
908Derf the Bushwhacker: "uh oh some weird creature here."
909Tibulus: Best way to kill fleas is smear them with oil. We don't have that, so...
910Alazar Beldrith slowly backs away from that direction and prepares to run for his life
911Ni'Len: sorry back
912Derf the Bushwhacker: "man flea?"
913Wizzzargh (GM): Derf retreats to tell you of his findings
914Tibulus: I mean, it's 7v1.
915Ni'Len: got a call on my snack run
916Wizzzargh (GM): Unless "man flea" was you addressing the creature?
917Tibulus: Oh gods.
918Derf the Bushwhacker: "pools of blood"
919Tibulus: "Gross."
920Wizzzargh (GM): Seems like he's just giving a quick summary...
921Tibulus: So, who wants to fight it? I can give a rousing speech so you can reroll hp if you'd like.
922Alazar Beldrith: "i would like to make some ranged weapons for everyone first"
923Tibulus: "It's probably a monster created by Neroikos. I'd just as soon kill it as not."
924Alazar Beldrith: "before we fight it"
925"and honestly id rather get something better to kill it with but"
926"if we fight i'd prefer we do so right"
927"and not just rush in like a band of fools"
928Trillby Dunlow: "Will you pay me to kill it old man?"
929Wizzzargh (GM): If you're spending time to create some ranged weapon you may as well have a lunch break (another way to reroll your HP)
930Derf the Bushwhacker: "I'm not sure what it is. It did not seem to notice my torch."
931Alazar Beldrith: (good idea)
932Wizzzargh (GM): It was facing away from you Derf, to be fair, and it was at the edge of your torchlight
933Alazar Beldrith: (but after getting a saw and bedroll i had 0 money and did not think to get rations)
934Tibulus: What's the stats on my molotov, again?
935Wizzzargh (GM): Well, you can use it as acooking ingredient for lunch
936Tibulus pulls out a large bottle of clear liquid, with a wick.
937Wizzzargh (GM): otherwise it burns as oil and goes out on low damage rolls and gets hotter on high rolls
938Tibulus: Great. So, attack roll, d6 damage?
939Derf the Bushwhacker: are we eating?
940Wizzzargh (GM): yup
941to d6 damage
942idk if it's lunch time or speech time
943Tibulus: We've still got two peeps who haven't weighed in on fighting The Flea.
944Trillby Dunlow: "IT IS CLOBBERING TIME"
945Which two?
946cause i asked you to pay me to fight it
947Tibulus: Oh, right. Trills a hireling. Lol.
948Lemme deduct the eight silver for this week... cuz I fergot.
949Alazar Beldrith: (is some one guna share rations with me?. )
950(i rolled a 1 on the silver peices thing. and forgot to get rations.)
951(Even had to not get the knife.)
952(been trying to make due with what i can craft.)
953Wizzzargh (GM): Rations might be low all around especially given the 3 rehydrated husks
954Tibulus: Yeah, it's speech time.
955Wizzzargh (GM): 3
956Alazar Beldrith attempts to shave parts of the door off and make some throwing javelins if theres time
957Wizzzargh (GM): Probably not I'm afraid
958Trillby Dunlow: hehe Trilly is totes a PC hireling.
959Wizzzargh (GM): anyway the husks have not fully accepted tib as their leader
960so they won't be rerolling HP
961*rehydrated husks I should say
962Tibulus: Ok then, first round we charge it. After we find out how tough it is, we may want to run like scared cats, so I'll give Trill the molotov to toss while I throw down my Caltrops, if we call a retreit.
963Trillby Dunlow: "Right...flame on then retreat."
964Derf the Bushwhacker: 4
965Tibulus: I've got the best HP, so oldy will be tanking, who's got the best damage?
966Derf the Bushwhacker: "Dunno"
967Wizzzargh (GM): Trill I believe
968Alazar Beldrith: (i reroll my hp now right?)
969Wizzzargh (GM): big 2hander weapon
970Right
971Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d8
972(
9734
974)
975= 4
976Wizzzargh (GM): Tib's battle plan has inspired some determination
977Alazar Beldrith: (do i have time to make any javelins?)
978Tibulus: Terrific, she leads the husks on a flank, that's +3 damage, right?
979Alazar Beldrith: (if so how many?)
980Wizzzargh (GM): No
981but you could get some rocks to hurl
982or skulls
983that's heavy enough to deal 1d3 damage at least
984Trillby Dunlow: Two hander she sometimes uses with a sheild... knocking it down to a one hander..
985Tibulus: Flanking, so you're dps. Two hand that sucker.
986Trillby Dunlow: But also... a secret weapon.
987KK!
988Derf the Bushwhacker looks ready with that axe he was given last time
989Trillby Dunlow: "One roast flea coming right up!"
990Wizzzargh (GM): The nervous-looking armorer and confident seeming soldiers and Trillby make ready their makeshift spears
991Tibulus: Terrific.
992Wizzzargh (GM): Ready?
993Trillby Dunlow: Makeshift?!
994Derf the Bushwhacker: ".... i wonder how you destroy blood .....?"
995Tibulus: Yeah, let's do it.
996Trillby Dunlow: HOW DARE you
997Wizzzargh (GM): *makeshift spears and one sturdy glaive
998Tibulus hefts his torch and silently rushes into the room.
999Derf the Bushwhacker: "you'll see what I mean Trillby."
1000Derf the Bushwhacker follows
1001Trillby Dunlow: "Alright Gents.. One of you two hold my shield.. I'll sneak behind so I won't be part of the pharlax."
1002(will be upgrading these guys if they stick around)
1003Wizzzargh (GM): This time, your presence does not go unnoticed. The Flea-man rises and turns, and hops forward fearlessly, speaking to you as a whole!
1004Tibulus: !
1005Trillby Dunlow: !
1006Fleaman: Fresh blood in you's will soon be in me, but while we fight, let's have us buffoonery! For every jest made about blood, I'll tell you the secrets of each of these three floods!
1007Alazar Beldrith: (k ill get rocks)
1008(gah nvm to late)
1009Wizzzargh (GM): (nah, rocks can b yours)
1010Tibulus: Neat.
1011Alazar Beldrith: (k)
1012(i had to leave my door and some other things behind then)
1013Wizzzargh (GM): It takes a second to pause, cackling at its own strange rhyme, and then hops forwards, a probiscus on it's ugly, ugly face held out like a spear
1014Derf the Bushwhacker starts swinging a lasso going to try flea roping
1015Trillby Dunlow: "Well well.. looks like we has a bloody bleeder!"
1016Derf the Bushwhacker: "Let us see how to squeeze blood from a flea!"
1017Tibulus pauses for a second to cock his head, the gets in it's face.
1018Tibulus: Is grapple a thing?
1019Cuz Grapple 11
1020Wizzzargh (GM): It's surprisingly fast- or maybe not so surprisingly, being a flea. It attacks! 12 1
1021Trillby Dunlow sneaks to flank
1022Tibulus: A hit!
1023Derf the Bushwhacker: lasso going .... 11
1024Wizzzargh (GM): Dodging a few blows from Tib and the spear-crew, it lands a glancing blow on tib, sucking a bit of his blood before he breaks free.
1025Trillby Dunlow: 19 Backstabber
1026Tibulus has long prepared for a battle of dad jokes... "Your attacks are... In Vein!! Hehheh."
1027Wizzzargh (GM): No good Derf, the melee is too crazy... but Trillby strikes it mightily!
1028Alazar Beldrith attacks with a rock
1029Trillby Dunlow: 3
1030Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d20
1031(
10324
1033)
1034= 4
1035Trillby Dunlow: Plus if the frens help with that +3
1036Wizzzargh (GM): Do you want to hit or to damage?
1037Derf the Bushwhacker frowns and takes out his axe
1038Trillby Dunlow: Damage
1039Wizzzargh (GM): That's what Tib said earlier but I wanted to check
1040Trillby Dunlow: mhm
1041Tibulus: If me or derf gets the grapple, that'll be all the to-hit boost you need.
1042Wizzzargh (GM): Alazar and Derf both have to hold off on their ranged attacks due to the melee... but Tit got poked pretty good thanks to Trillby's attack!
1043fleaman save vs joke 9
1044Trillby Dunlow: "I don't want any bad blood between us Rag-gents!"
1045Ni'Len: I am so glad Beat wasn't my choice for tonight.
1046Fleaman: In... in Vein! It doesn't attack this round and cackles despite being under heavy spear attack Very well, the pool to your left is living blood, and it will gladly add you to itself if disturbed!
1047Wizzzargh (GM): all righty feel free to bash away at it, it'll save v trillby's joke after that
1048Tibulus: Grapple 10
1049Wizzzargh (GM): Tib reconsiders interposing his body between the flea and 4 polearms, at least for now
1050Derf the Bushwhacker charges in with an attempt to slash off it's probiscus so blood can't suck
1051Derf the Bushwhacker: 7
1052(( sigh ))
1053Trillby Dunlow: 17 Another swing
105410 Dmg +3 with the bois.
1055"Let us let bloodgones be bloodgones."
1056Wizzzargh (GM): It's skewered like a shishkabob, but doesn't die! Well, it is a monster, after all...
1057Any actions from Alazar?
1058save v bad blood 5
1059Alazar Beldrith: (i cant throw a rock?)
1060Wizzzargh (GM): You can
1061Alazar Beldrith: (ok if i wont hit my allies ill throw a rock)
1062(my lucky one that hit before)
1063Wizzzargh (GM): You will on a nat 1
1064Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d20
1065(
106616
1067)
1068= 16
1069Wizzzargh (GM): BONK
1070rock to the face
1071Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d3
1072(
10733
1074)
1075= 3
1076Wizzzargh (GM): yeeow
1077Wizzzargh (GM) Rechecks HP
1078Wizzzargh (GM): It looks badly wounded, yet if just cackles!
1079Alazar Beldrith: "we should throw a rope or tarp or something over it and drag it away from the blood."
1080Fleaman: Oh, I'm tickled. The pool to your right is from the moon of night, and drinking it will transform you into an immortal fright!
1081Wizzzargh (GM): Back to you lot
1082Trillby Dunlow: (Probs what he did)
1083Tibulus: "Alright! Lay off it. It's got one more secret in it."
1084Wizzzargh (GM): It will next save vs Bloodgones be bloodgones
1085Tibulus: Grapple 16
1086Trillby Dunlow: "Looking at your hideous face... You sure we aren't blood related.?"
1087Derf the Bushwhacker: "May the arteries be the ventricles of your future!"
1088Wizzzargh (GM): Now that it's held in place by spears to a certain extent, Tib tackles it successfully (cuz it doesn't wanna take HP damage instead)
1089Trillby Dunlow: And we don't want it to anyway
1090Derf the Bushwhacker slashes again 6
1091Derf the Bushwhacker: and still can't hit
1092Wizzzargh (GM): What a night
1093At least you lassoed a shusk
1094Trillby Dunlow: A great husk too
1095Wizzzargh (GM): 7
1096Derf the Bushwhacker puts the axe away and ties up the flea thing
1097Wizzzargh (GM): The flea howls with laughter at the barrage of jokes and is fairly easy to tie up. The soldier husks look disturbed, but glad everything went smoothly.
1098Derf the Bushwhacker: "Cut off the snout."
1099Tibulus: I don't think asking the party not to attack has ever worked.
1100Trillby Dunlow: Yo i didn't attack
1101Fleaman: The final pools the witches blood, her mortal form shucked and replaced by wood.
1102Tibulus: "Please don't maim him, he seems like a cool guy."
1103Fleaman: I would not wish to lose my snout, for then I'd starve, I have no doubt
1104Ragged Soldier: MAN that thing is ugly.
1105Trillby Dunlow: "Uglier than me?"
1106Alazar Beldrith inspects the fleman to try and determine what parts of them would be useful in artifice. just incase the others kill it, (but has no intention of killing it themselves right now)
1107Ragged Soldier: No question
1108Tibulus: "You ain't a dream to look at yerself."
1109Alazar Beldrith: (im guessing the spear like mouth thing?.)
1110Tibulus: "What do you eat down here?"
1111Trillby Dunlow: "Awww you flatter" Bats her eye's lashes
1112Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, though the spiny legs might be a good choice too
1113Fleaman: Blood of course. I had hoped you would provide new flavors.
1114Trillby Dunlow: "Did you swim in the second pool?"
1115Derf the Bushwhacker: Nah my blood is awful"
1116Alazar Beldrith is afraid to get too close to it but trys to determine if the blood in the pool could be useful in artifice... given what the flea man said it likely has transmutative properties.
1117Trillby Dunlow: "You guys heard about the third pool..."
1118Fleaman: Oh no, I came from the Blood Moon to the court of Agayba, long ago.
1119Derf the Bushwhacker: "I wonder what would happen if we drain pool 3?"
1120Trillby Dunlow: "Have you known any to swim that pool?"
1121Fleaman: As long as you didn't drink it, I expect nothing would happen. And as for the witches blood, returning it to the tree would make it mortal, I expect.
1122Tibulus: Noice.
1123Derf the Bushwhacker: "There see. I knew you were helpful."
1124Wizzzargh (GM): The blood is definitely useful Alazar
1125Trillby Dunlow: "Must to drink the death of your meal?"
1126Alazar Beldrith: (im guessing the blood from the moon of night that turns you into an immortal fright would be useful for turning some one into a monster. albit, A hard to kill monster)
1127Fleaman: Not necessarily, but I don't want to bother with little sips.
1128Ragged Man: This thing's a monster alright...
1129Alazar Beldrith: (perhaps with a bit of research and some of the mer person fish-humanoid connection vertebrae. and parts of an existing monster. the transformation could be a little more controlled to help fuse some one into a monster human hybrid?.)
1130Trillby Dunlow: "Do we know of any large sources of blood...besides here..."
1131Wizzzargh (GM): Seems quite possible Alazar
1132Derf the Bushwhacker: "Nope."
1133Alazar Beldrith: (sorta like an instant "were wolfifycation" thing but who knows how the blood of night might react with it?.)
1134Trillby Dunlow: "Hm...Do you only drink live blood?"
1135Wizzzargh (GM): werefishification
1136Fleaman: When I can get it.
1137Alazar Beldrith: "i think that blood of night stuff could be very useful if we could get some but im scared to go near it."
1138Fleaman: These pools do not coagulate, but they hardly count...
1139Alazar Beldrith: "it could be a very useful incredient if its chaos could be controlled i think."
1140"but ideally we would need something to stabilize it."
1141"perhaps part of an existing shape shifter?."
1142Derf the Bushwhacker: "talk normal man. You confuse me."
1143Trillby Dunlow: "Wonder if it would make be beautiful again..."
1144Alazar Beldrith: "well actually."
1145"theoretically...."
1146"if you drank that stuff right now you'd probably turn into a horrific monster"
1147"but if i could get parts from a shape shifter."
1148"and some of that blood."
1149"and parts from something that regenerates."
1150Alazar Beldrith: "i just might with proper tools.."
1151"be able to whip up some kind of substance that."
1152Wizzzargh (GM): 7
1153Alazar Beldrith: "could allow the drinker to assume the form of a monster."
1154"and turn back."
1155"and if you turned into something regenerative."
1156Ragged Man: Man, you wizard types are the same in any age, huh?
1157Alazar Beldrith: "you might be able to get your face back to normal."
1158Derf the Bushwhacker: "I'm more interested in dealing with the tree life."
1159Alazar Beldrith: "but i would need parts from a shape shifter or something."
1160Trillby Dunlow: "I wouldn't mind killing the tree either..."
1161Alazar Beldrith: "otherwise you would likely just get stuck as a monster for ever"
1162Trillby Dunlow: "Not a bloodless sacrifice..."
1163Alazar Beldrith: "but we should really get some containers and fill them with the magic blood."
1164"it could be quite useful in the future"
1165"potentially very valuble if used correctly."
1166"its just with out additional things."
1167"it would most likely just turn you into a monster as it is now."
1168"but its powerful i think.."
1169Derf the Bushwhacker: "I don't suppose mr Flea you would want to fill your body from pool 3 then go up with us and let us squeeze you dry all over the tree."
1170Wizzzargh (GM): You've got a waterskin which would work for 1 slot of Blood
1171Alazar Beldrith: "hey what ever happend to that pot?"
1172Wizzzargh (GM): There's a husk tied up in a tarp inside it!
1173Alazar Beldrith decides to investigate his bedroll and determine if its waterproof or not
1174Fleaman: That sounds absolutely disgusting, but I am your captive and can't complain too much about that plan
1175Wizzzargh (GM): It is not, Alazar
1176Alazar Beldrith: "im not sure its such a great idea though"
1177"if he drinks it first it might take on some of his essence when we remove it."
1178"meaning it might turn us into flee people if we drink it.?"
1179Derf the Bushwhacker: "But it would release you from forever guarding these pools of blood."
1180Fleaman: I've been drinking from the queen's blood for ages
1181IHasn't done me any harm yet
1182Trillby Dunlow: "Guys... Imma try it..."
1183"Obviously not the first...but the second or the third..."
1184Derf the Bushwhacker: "I have a water skin we could fill as well"
1185Wizzzargh (GM): So probably 4 waterskins of blood are available
1186You gonna squirt the queens blood on the tree roots using Fleaman as a giant syringe
1187?
1188Trillby Dunlow: I am going to drink it myself
1189Derf the Bushwhacker: (( unfortunately no since it may not work ))
1190Wizzzargh (GM): Well, the waterskins are just for taking blood with you
1191There's a swimmingpool of the stuff if you just wanna drink it now
1192(Trill are you waiting on me)
1193(cuz I was waiting on you to specify if you were drinking queen blood or the wild blood)
1194Trillby Dunlow: Some one to answer my implied question of which to drink
1195Derf the Bushwhacker would have no clue and not like the idea
1196Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, and ALazar wanted to do wizard stuff to it before you drank it
1197Alazar Beldrith: (if i have a water skin im going to drink any water in it now)
1198Tibulus: I'm back. If anyone noticed I was missing...
1199Alazar Beldrith: (and then ask that it be filled with the night moon blood)
1200(before any body drinks from a pool)
1201(lending the waterskin to them to allow them to do so)
1202Trillby Dunlow: I did
1203Alazar Beldrith: (Cause im scared to touch the stuff myself)
1204Trillby Dunlow: Which should trill drink
1205Alazar Beldrith: (k so i have a waterskin of night moon blood)
1206Trillby Dunlow: queen, moon?
1207Alazar Beldrith: (the one that turns you into an immortal fright according to the flea man)
1208Derf the Bushwhacker gathers blood to kill the tree
1209Tibulus: How much bllod is in the queen pool?
1210Wizzzargh (GM): Untold gallons
1211you could fill up the fleaman as per Derf's plan and it would barely drop the level
1212Tibulus: It seems like we'd need a pump. Is that a thing in days of olde?
1213Trillby Dunlow: "Hey Fleaman...what is your name?"
1214Alazar Beldrith attempts to craft the door into a barrel
1215Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, pumps are a thing if you think you need ALL the blood
1216Alazar Beldrith: (may take some time.)
1217Wizzzargh (GM): That's gonna take hours and hours....
1218Alazar Beldrith: (possibly. but ill get started now)
1219Tibulus: But maybe just a pot full.
1220Alazar Beldrith: (a barrel would allow lots of doses)
1221Fleaman: Just call me Flea.
1222Alazar Beldrith: (to be hauled back)
1223(what was said about the first pool?)
1224Wizzzargh (GM): It's alive and will eat you
1225Alazar Beldrith: (ah right thats why i was scared to go anywhere near any of the pools)
1226Derf the Bushwhacker: (( 1st pool = insta-death))
1227Tibulus: "So, if we give the queen a dose of blood, the tree might lose it's immortality?
1228Flea: That's right.
1229Alazar Beldrith: "we should get a water skin of queens blood before messing with it."
1230Derf the Bushwhacker: "He said it would become mortal."
1231Alazar Beldrith: "it might be useful too."
1232Trillby Dunlow drinks the queen's blood
1233Flea: There's a lot of things down here trying to collect her soul, but she outwitted them by becoming a tree instead of dying.
1234Wizzzargh (GM): Tastes like blood, Trillby. Disappointing.
1235Tibulus: "We'll use the pot. The husk can be carried in the tarp.v
1236Derf the Bushwhacker: "ewwwwww"
1237Trillby Dunlow blood dripping from her chin...
1238Trillby Dunlow: "Tastes just fine...Am i beautiful yet?"
1239Tibulus: -5 to reaction checks.
1240Ragged Man: Urrrrg... I'm gonna go watch the tunnel while you sickos play with blood
1241Derf the Bushwhacker: "Not yet"
1242Other Ragged Man: Me too...
1243Trillby Dunlow soaks her gladiolus in the first pool
1244Armorer: Me three...
1245Wizzzargh (GM): As you approach the first pool
1246Tibulus: The living one that'll kill you if you touch it? Smart.
1247Flea: Uh, that's the one that'll eat you if you disturb it...
1248Derf the Bushwhacker: "Don't go too far that tree is dangerous."
1249Trillby Dunlow: shiiit i forgot it was living
1250abort abort
1251Flea: Where would you all be without me...
1252In that pool, probably.
1253Derf the Bushwhacker: "In a blood red sea?"
1254Trillby Dunlow: "Lets just load up and try this thing."
1255Tibulus: "May I borrow your sword, Trillby?"
1256Derf the Bushwhacker: "Wish we had some cow stomachs"
1257Trillby Dunlow: "Careful with it.."
1258"It is special."
1259Alazar Beldrith: "actually"
1260"if you wait long enough"
1261"ill finish this barrel"
1262Tibulus staggers a bit under the weight.
1263Derf the Bushwhacker has filled his watersking with anti-queen blood.
1264Alazar Beldrith: "then we can bring loads of the blood back with us"
1265"could take while a while though."
1266"but if we can figure out how to control the immortal fright thing."
1267"im really interested in the whole immortal part of that."
1268Wizzzargh (GM): cough wandering monster checks every 30 minutes cough
1269Tibulus: "Ok, Flea. We're done here, but we can't take you with us."
1270Derf the Bushwhacker: "I don't want to take too long in this place."
1271Alazar Beldrith: "honestly neither do i. id rather work on this some where less creepy"
1272"but it is what it is."
1273"and we are where we are"
1274Derf the Bushwhacker: "We have just the place"
1275Flea: I'd hate to leave. Free food forever, here.
1276Tibulus: "Yes, but I need you to do me a favor. Can you tell me about the blood moon?"
1277There's a tunnel out of this place that I forgot to mention, but Flea will tell you it just leads to a building in the rich disctict
1278Flea: I suppose I could answer a few questions, though really, you'd be better off leaving me a blank book to fill.
1279Tibulus: Oho!
1280Hell to the yeah.
1281Alazar Beldrith: "if no one has one of those i may potentially be able to make a crude replica of one out of the tarp"
1282Tibulus: "I can definitly do that. Ok then, you've earned some trust with your helpful attitude."
1283Alazar Beldrith: "but i think the tarps kinda being used for an important job right now"
1284Trillby Dunlow: "...Can I have my sword back?"
1285Tibulus: "Not yet, it's for a ceremony."
1286Alazar Beldrith: "im beginning to think that perhaps instead of building a barrel"
1287"we should just loot one from the nearest tavern"
1288"im guessing they likely have some empty barrels"
1289Tibulus offers the hilt to the Flea.
1290Trillby Dunlow goes back to the queen pool and soaks her other weapons in it...
1291Wizzzargh (GM): Derf tied the flea up...
1292Flea: What do you want me to do with that?
1293Tibulus: "Touch it, and make an oath to do us no violence in exchange for your freedom. There's a specific oath that sailors use, but any oath that carries weight to you will do."
1294Trillby Dunlow: a blood oath
1295hehehe
1296Tibulus: Lol
1297Flea: Hehehe
1298I swear by my blood that I shan't seek yours. How's that?
1299Tibulus: "Good stuff."
1300Tibulus returns the blade.
1301Tibulus: Ok, let's fill that pot up with bloode and offer the tree a drink!
1302Trillby Dunlow soaks her sword in the queens blood too.
1303When you exit the tunnel, you find the armorer and soldiers are not standing guard. Looks like all the blood talk spooked them off and they split off.
1304Tibulus: Losers.
1305Trillby Dunlow: DAMNIT
1306Wizzzargh (GM): That or some monster silently and bloodlessly took them all out I suppose
1307In any case, they not here
1308Tibulus: Who the heck drinks blood anyway?
1309Alazar Beldrith: "hmm. now how do we catch a shape shifter?."
1310"also how do we defeat a monster powerful enough to be worth being able to turn into?."
1311Wizzzargh (GM): Fighting dirty!
1312Tibulus: Always.
1313Trillby Dunlow: "I was curious sir..."
1314"I am curious about being immortal too... just not sure about the fright part."
1315Alazar Beldrith: "my best guess is the blood turns you into a monster"
1316"i think parts of a shape shifter would at the least allow you to return to human form."
1317Derf the Bushwhacker: "Ok lets see how the tree likes its blood."
1318Tibulus: Ok! We're leaving Husky the elite guard in the flea room, we'll offer the tree a drink, then split through the exit tunnel.
1319Alazar Beldrith: "and at best allow you to keep most your human sanity while taking the form of a monster"
1320"since it was never specified what -kind- of fright you would become. just an immortal one."
1321"i suspect it could be more specific by using part of the essence of what kind of fright you wana become."
1322Tibulus: Maybe just make a potion for a one time transformation, eh?
1323Alazar Beldrith: "well... it might be one time... or it might be permenant."
1324Tibulus: Anywho...
1325Alazar Beldrith: "the main issue im worried about is the binding agent."
1326"to unite the human essense with the monster essence in a stable method."
1327Derf the Bushwhacker: "do you ever stop talking?"
1328Tibulus sets the pot down in the root room.
1329Alazar Beldrith: "it would probably work great for fish like entitys."
1330"but im not sure how well it would hold in other creatures?."
1331Tibulus: Does that taproot reach the ground?
1332Wizzzargh (GM): The roots are immediately drawn to the pot o queen's blood!
1333It does
1334Tibulus: Oh nice.
1335Drink up, guys!
1336Derf the Bushwhacker empties his waterskin in another area
1337Wizzzargh (GM): Animated roots snake over and drink all sources of the Queen's Blood dry, then slither about aimlessly as if in search of more... they seem blind to your presence for now, thankfully, as there's really too many to hope to fight in here. A nauseating aura you didn't even realize was bothering you seems to lift...
1338Tibulus: Sweet.
1339Let's go home. We can try that grappling up to the wizards study trick next time.
1340And maybe get some friggin treasure for once!!
1341Derf the Bushwhacker: "Which way out?"
1342Tibulus: The blood room exit.
1343Wizzzargh (GM): At least you're not entirely dependent on GP= XP...
1344Aight, retrieving Husky?
1345Tibulus: Yes.
1346Derf the Bushwhacker: "Right. Let's go"
1347Alazar Beldrith: (plus i found half of what i think ill need to make an awesome potion later)
1348(..or a terrible potion.)
1349(no idea if the transformations permenant. no idea if it comes with werewolve like compulsions to kill things and behave like a monster.)
1350(but it sounds like it will almost certainly make you immortal.)
1351Wizzzargh (GM): You emerge from the blood room tunnel in the northeast side of the city
1352Tibulus: It's moon magic, so probs yeah.
1353Alazar Beldrith: (and if we can get a shape shifter. it probably lets you turn back and forth!)
1354Derf the Bushwhacker ducks into a house to loot something quickly
1355Alazar Beldrith: (so even if we dont get lots of gold.)
1356(Atleast i found something i think is valuble.)
1357Wizzzargh (GM): Huh
1358How bout this house derf
1359Alazar Beldrith: (i guess it all depends on your perspective?.)
1360There's another small chest containing 30 cp and a longbow of ancient horn hanging above a fireplace.
1361Wizzzargh (GM): Looks like the string snapped over the ages
1362Derf the Bushwhacker stuffs his pockets with the coins and grabs the longbow and rushes back out.
1363Wizzzargh (GM): This house also had a bell-cellar door
1364Ni'Len: Sorry back... computer probs as usua
1365Derf the Bushwhacker: "Okay I feel better now. Let's go."
1366Wizzzargh (GM): If there was still interest in looting those as shields...
1367Alazar Beldrith: (nawh)
1368Wizzzargh (GM): If not though, will you head back to the mansion, or...?
1369Alazar Beldrith: (the guys id make them for are gone. so unless other PC's want shield doors)
1370Tibulus: We lost our Hoplites and smith :(
1371:(
1372Ni'Len: NO
1373Tibulus: :'(
1374Ni'Len: What?!
1375Wizzzargh (GM): Didja miss that>
1376Derf the Bushwhacker: they got scared of the blood
1377Wizzzargh (GM): They said they'd guard the tunnel but they just tots ditched yuo
1378Ni'Len: And survived?
1379Alazar Beldrith: (i dont blame em. IM scared of the blood even though im carrying a waterskin of it)
1380Wizzzargh (GM): Unknown
1381Derf the Bushwhacker: don't know
1382Ni'Len: They were cool thou
1383Tibulus: Because of a certain hideous person who started drinking blood...
1384Ni'Len: Hey now woah
1385Derf the Bushwhacker: lol
1386Ni'Len: It was bound to happen given how long we putzed around there
1387Tibulus: Ok! We go home.
1388Derf the Bushwhacker: mansion I assume
1389Wizzzargh (GM): Husky starts rehydrating in the rain back
1390Trillby Dunlow: Not attack the roots?
1391Tibulus: That's why I have her tarped and in the pot!
1392Wizzzargh (GM): Be like fighting an army
1393Aight, you just need to adjust the pot covering if you don't want her rehydrating yet
1394You return to the mansion!
1395Derf the Bushwhacker makes sure the pot is toally covered
1396Wizzzargh (GM): Derf, as someone who has experienced this, firsthand, you'll stop the others from entering the front door
1397Which was open just a crack, and has a knife glowing with blue runes lodged in it
1398Derf the Bushwhacker: "Halt!"
1399Trillby Dunlow: "Why we are home?"
1400Tibulus: Ah shit. Was that there when we left?
1401Wizzzargh (GM): It was not
1402Derf the Bushwhacker: "The knife."
1403Tibulus: "Shit."
1404Trillby Dunlow: "A magical knife?...so?"
1405Derf the Bushwhacker: "Cawwwwrla used it on me. It frickin hurts."
1406Alazar Beldrith attempts to determine what it does with out getting too close out of fear its dangerous
1407Tibulus: "Derf, Trillby, get us up to the roof!"
1408Trillby Dunlow: "Around then?"
1409Derf the Bushwhacker: "Let's try another way in."
1410Wizzzargh (GM): Hard to say without getting closer, and Derf seems to be indicating that's a bad idea
1411Trillby Dunlow: "Give me rope?"
1412Alazar Beldrith: "is the knife a magical trap?"
1413Trillby Dunlow: Microbudes it up to the roof.
1414Tibulus: *manuscobe
1415Wizzzargh (GM): *Manibuscopes
1416Derf the Bushwhacker: "The knife is fixed to harm whoeverenters through that door."
1417Tibulus peeks through a window
1418Wizzzargh (GM): You can snag the rope around some of the boulders from the landslide as an anchor point easily with this handy tool
1419Opening the shutters meant to keep the storm out, the interior is dark and quiet.
1420Derf the Bushwhacker: "Climbing time."
1421Alazar Beldrith: "What would happen if i removed the door and its frame?"
1422"And moved it elsewhere?"
1423Tibulus: Up and in, Tib will be leading.
1424Alazar Beldrith: would the knife guard that place instead?."
1425Trillby Dunlow: "Dunno if you can do that Wordsy...A lil lacking in the buff."
1426Alazar Beldrith: "im too scared to try it "
1427"i dont wana mess with it if its known to be dangerous"
1428Wizzzargh (GM): You going for the roof where Cawwrla had her little stone huts, or one of the 4 poster bedrooms on the second floor
1429Tibulus: Cawwrlas huts.
1430Derf the Bushwhacker goes up and starts looking for who should be there
1431Alazar Beldrith attempts to climb the rope with the others
1432As you climb to the top of the roof, a small black figure covered in feathers runs over to you, heedless of the rain.
1433Cawwwrla: Tib!
1434Tibulus snatches her up
1435Tibulus: "What happened!"
1436The small crow child clings to you, shaking from fear as much as cold.
1437Cawwwrla: The bad man sent the Najka. He must be mad about you sneaking in and out of the city and it followed your tracks and!
1438She sobs
1439Trillby Dunlow: "Najka?"
1440Tibulus: Ah shit. Looks like it's time to fight again.
1441At least Cawrlas ok.
1442Trillby Dunlow: This is it boyos.
1443Alazar Beldrith readys pick and lucky throwing stone
1444Trillby Dunlow: The defending our base of ops.
1445Derf the Bushwhacker: "I'm a bit angry now."
1446Tibulus: Ok, so what details about the monster can we get from Cawrla, and where was it last she saw.
1447Derf the Bushwhacker: "Is there any bowstring in this place ..... and arrows?"
1448Wizzzargh (GM): She's a bit hysterical but here's what you get
14491. The Najka has a poison stinger, is about dog sized, and it's smart, fast, and sneaky
1450Alazar Beldrith decides to give his lucky throwing rock a name. Face Gouger
1451Wizzzargh (GM): 2. Caz tried to shoot it with his bow out in the apple orchard but his little bow is more of a rabbit-hunter than a warbow and it didn't work
1452Alazar Beldrith: (its hit both times i used it. in the face of the target so.)
1453Wizzzargh (GM): 3. People hid in the house but it crawled in through a window and started hunting them down.
14544. She thinks its still looking for anyone left
1455Tibulus: Horror movie stuff.
1456Alazar Beldrith: "Ok. lets NOT split up. lets all stick together. and lets either hunt the thing down or set a trap for it."
1457Trillby Dunlow: "Lets split up to find it."
1458Alazar Beldrith: "if one of us pretends to be alone and all the others hide in ambush. then if its hunting us."
1459"it will probably find the one pretending to be alone"
1460"then we can all surround it and kill it"
1461Tibulus: I have, caltrops, a molotov, Cawlas ward spell, crow scare, and transport sunshard.
1462It sounds like save or die poison, so I don't want close combat.
1463Derf the Bushwhacker: "I need a bowstring and arrows."
1464Alazar Beldrith: "im new here. i dont really have much. just my favorite throwing stone. my pick. and my spear in terms of weapons."
1465"huh."
1466"actually i miiight be able to help with that."
1467Derf the Bushwhacker: maybe a rope trap can be rigged up"
1468Alazar Beldrith: "ill need materials to work with but."
1469"you'd be surprised at what can be used as a bow string."
1470"Animal tendon for instance could work."
1471Trillby Dunlow: "I only have close weapons... But I will use my shield...and my sword...and will be careful."
1472Tibulus: We can use the husk as bait. I'd rather she die than one of us.
1473Alazar Beldrith: "Great idea."
1474Trillby Dunlow: "Tsk..."
1475Alazar Beldrith: "then the rest of us can hide"
1476Derf the Bushwhacker: "blood scent?"
1477Alazar Beldrith looks around for salvagable items that could be used to get a makeshift bow string
1478Derf the Bushwhacker starts rigging up a snare
1479Alazar Beldrith: ". hey."
1480"how thick is that?."
1481"if its not too thick. -that- thing your using right there for the snare might be usable for a bow string."
1482Derf the Bushwhacker: "heavy duty"
1483Alazar Beldrith: "depends on how flexible a bow you have."
1484"dang."
1485Tibulus: "Trillby, try to grapple it's tail with the manuscobe. It might throw it off enough to stop a hit. Derf, take the molotov from Trillby, Alazar, I hope that stone is lucky."
1486Wizzzargh (GM): Downstairs, theres a storage room next to the kitchen
1487Derf the Bushwhacker shows him the fancy bow he found
1488Alazar Beldrith: "its hit the last two times ive used it."
1489"right in the face."
1490"if we kill the monster i call dibs on its stinger and poison"
1491"i can probably use that to make my lucky throwing stone alot more dangerous since i sharpend it."
1492Tibulus: We need to get the oil stored in the kitchen, there's a barrel full of it. The ballroom is probably our best bet for a fight, because it's open.
1493Wizzzargh (GM): Horn bows have pretty high draw weights... you might need that bowstring from the apple orchard, assuming it's long enough
1494Unless there's a good string in the storage room
1495Tibulus: I don't see why there would be, unless Caz had spares.
1496Wizzzargh (GM): Not a bowstring, but just A string
1497Tibulus: Yeah, there'll be that.
1498Wizzzargh (GM): In anycase, are you heading to the kitchen for the oil first?
1499Tibulus: String, oil, ballroom.
1500Wizzzargh (GM): Alrighty!
1501Derf the Bushwhacker: "arrows"
1502Tibulus: Well, arrows from the orchard, can't forget ammo.
1503Alazar Beldrith: "if you get desperate for bow strings let me know."
1504Wizzzargh (GM): 5
1505Alazar Beldrith: "i can attempt to unweave part of that snare"
1506Wizzzargh (GM): Heyo
1507Alazar Beldrith: "and use that"
1508"but no gaurntee it will work out well"
1509"be better to find a different thing."
1510Wizzzargh (GM): spare bowstring and simple wooden arrows in storage
1511Ni'Len: wasn't dark going to join us?
1512Wizzzargh (GM): I saw you mention it in chat but they never responded
1513Tibulus: So, at the least, Caz is confirmed dead, but probably everyone else too.
1514You hear a thump from behind the kitchen door
1515Wizzzargh (GM): The door to the wine cellar falling shut, maybe
1516Tibulus: Nuts.
1517Derf the Bushwhacker: "Still gotta do it."
1518Tibulus: I open the door.
1519Wizzzargh (GM): Trapdoor to wine cellar is closed, oil barrel is missing. Maybe someone else hoped to burn the thing out.
1520Kitchen is in general disarray too- cutlery spilled everywhere
1521Incidentally, since Tib is carrying cawwrla
1522Trillby Dunlow moves in front of everyone shield at the ready
1523Wizzzargh (GM): I should mention her Manibuscope is missing
1524Alazar Beldrith: "ill bet i could make some large ish caltrops out of some of this cutlery if we needed it."
1525"i doubt we have time for that though."
1526Tibulus: Ok. I put the husk pot on top of the door, then rap it and speak. "It's Tibulus!"
1527Trillby Dunlow: "Making such things takes time Wordsy... we don't have time to be dawdling."
1528Wizzzargh (GM): You hear a muffled voice from below- sounds like Axli
1529Axli: Sir Tibulus! It was horrible...
1530Unlesss...
1531What's my name?
1532Answer me at once!
1533Tibulus: "I recognize you, Axli."
1534Axli: Thank heavens... That horrible creature can mimic voices!
1535Tibulus: "Ready with your weapons, we'll have to sweep the cellar."
1536Axli: No need, I got down here before it could...
1537Tibulus closes the kitchen door and jams a chair beneath.
1538The cellar door opens and the middleaged woman Axli pokes her head up
1539Trillby Dunlow: "Just Axli..."
1540Tibulus: Or that. We'll check anyway.
1541Up and out Axli, you never know.
1542""*
1543Wizzzargh (GM): Axli hesitantly ascends the steps, and aks if you've found everyone else. She and Cawwrla seem to be glad the other is okay.
1544Tibulus: "No, only you two. Where is the oil, and manuscobe?"
1545..and Caz...
1546Wizzzargh (GM): Meztic and Otlot took the oil, and the manibuscope was left in the forest with Caz
1547Tibulus: Ok, trillby in first, since she's our heavy. Then Derf with the bow. Then me and Alazar.
1548The wine cellar is clear.
1549Trillby Dunlow: "Hehehe"
1550"I'll try a diet soon."
1551Tibulus: Ok! To the ballroom.
1552Cawla and Axli will hold in the kitchen. With a codeword, bc of the troubling new development.
1553Wizzzargh (GM): Cawwlra refuses
1554She's going to ride around on you, or hide on the roof
1555Axli's fine with the kitchen though
1556Trillby Dunlow: "This thing isn't a shapeshifter is it?"
1557Tibulus: Aw hell. I guess it's with me then.
1558Alazar Beldrith: "is it?!"
1559"i hope it is. ! i need one of those!"
1560Axli: No, we'd all be dead for sure if it was...
1561Alazar Beldrith: "for the potion im making"
1562Tibulus: Yeah, so. Any idea where Otlot and Meztic went?
1563Alazar Beldrith: "we should get everybody in one place and check that they can confirm their identitys"
1564"then if its a shape shifter pretending to be one of us we can discover it "
1565"i doubt im that lucky though."
1566"its probably just a creepy sneaky thing"
1567Axli: The lounges, I think... Please don't make such scary guesses.Addressed to Alazar
1568Alazar Beldrith: ".. is there any proof that it cant shape shift?."
1569Tibulus: Ok then, we'll sweep the ballroom then head for the lounges.
1570Wizzzargh (GM): The ballroom is clear. Passing the entrance room, you think you hear a pained groan upstairs
1571Alazar Beldrith: "maybe its got the ability to disguise its self as furniture?."
1572Tibulus: Crud. That could easily be a trap.
1573Alazar Beldrith: "dont trust any chairs or desks or things till we catch it."
1574Derf the Bushwhacker: "We need to find a room with only 2 entrances. I have an idea."
1575Tibulus: "If that's a trap, then the thing has given us it's position. Up."
1576The ballroom has only two entrances, aside from the windows.
1577Alazar Beldrith readys his spear to catch a falling/leaping foe
1578Alazar Beldrith loops up
1579Derf the Bushwhacker: "Tib, you remember how we first got in here?"
1580Alazar Beldrith: (looks*)
1581Wizzzargh (GM): On the upper landing, there's a trail of oil going between the mage study and the first 4 poster bedroom.
1582The groaning comes from the bedroom, and you can see some light behind both the mage study door and the door to the bedrooms
1583Ceiling is saggy, but devoid of monsters alazar
1584Tibulus: "Oi! It's Tibulus!"
1585Alazar Beldrith: "i wonder if it regenerates after consuming human flesh?. burning it might be the best way to kill it but it'd probably ruin the ingredients for potion making."
1586Watli, previously unnamed tanner: Tib? H-help me...
1587Tibulus: Which room?
1588Wizzzargh (GM): bedroom
1589Alazar Beldrith: "ill bet it has lots of useful parts besides just the poison in the tail."
1590Tibulus: Ah, shit. This sounds like a guaranteed trap.
1591Wizzzargh (GM): oh wait
1592*previously unnamed brewer
1593Tibulus: "What's wrong Watli?"
1594Watli, previously unnamed brewer: Legs all cut up... can't walk... bleeding... oh gods, if it comes back...
1595Tibulus: He used a nickname, but Derf also just now used the same name...
1596"Hey, do you have any of that pear cider to put on the wounds?"
1597Watli, previously unnamed brewer: But it was apple- oh god!
1598He suddenly goes quiet
1599Tibulus: Shit.
1600Tibulus makes a chopping motion with his hands.
1601Tibulus: That means charge, btw.
1602Alazar Beldrith: (if Alazar is in the area he will switch to his lucky throwing stone)
1603(and his pick.)
1604Trillby Dunlow runs in to the room
1605Alazar Beldrith: (i dont recall if we split up or not)
1606Tibulus: Prepares to cast crow scare
1607Wizzzargh (GM): Nah, you're sticking pretty close as prev stated
1608Trillby Dunlow: "Any idea where Misses Mute is hiding?"
1609Wizzzargh (GM): There's a lantern lighting this bedroom, and the whole place smells like oil- as the barrel has been broken. Trying to remain quiet is a man whose hamstrings have been cut and is lying inthe oil- Watli the Brewer. He looks deeply confused
1610Tibulus: She has a previously mentioned house in the starting city. So I didn't have her listed as a resident.
1611Watli: Wait, you said pear cider- I thought you were that thing...
1612Trillby Dunlow: She was here when we left
1613Tibulus whips around and switches to transport sunshard.
1614You hear a door creak from behind you- anyone watching your back will see the door to the mage study creep open
1615Derf the Bushwhacker turns fast ready to shoot
1616Alazar Beldrith: (we are not standing in oil right?)
1617(i dont wana step into a insta burn alive trap)
1618Tibulus: We totally are.
1619Wizzzargh (GM): Kinda yeah...
1620Alazar Beldrith attempts to NOT be in the oil)
1621Alazar Beldrith: (or to close to it)
1622There's a scorption the size of a large dog holding a torch in one hand. It has a human face, with green eyes and high cheekbones
1623Derf the Bushwhacker fires
1624Alazar Beldrith runs for it
1625Tibulus: It's ok, I think it's in for a nasty suprise.
1626Derf the Bushwhacker: 13
1627Wizzzargh (GM): As you all realize the trap you've stepped into, the torch drops and flames spring up....
1628Trillby Dunlow shields up and gets in front of Tib
1629Wizzzargh (GM): Derf, your arrow pings off it's thick clack armor
1630Alazar Beldrith: (i started leaving before the torch hit.)
1631Wizzzargh (GM): *black armor
1632but also clack armor
1633Alazar is diving for the staircase
1634Tib, what're you doing with Transport SUnshard
1635(like I have to ask)
1636Trillby Dunlow: As previously stated/seen.. Trill don't give a heck about melting
1637Tibulus: Unlighting the oil trap and lighting up the scorpion.
1638Your attempted cremation is turned back on the Najka- roll 1d8
1639Tibulus: 3
1640Derf the Bushwhacker jumps back and starts readying another arrow
1641Tibulus: I beleive that means the fire goes out, too!
1642Wizzzargh (GM): The flames singe the creature and it screams with Cawwrla's voice and flees into the mage study.
1643That's right- the Najka is not oil coated so
1644Burn, then gone
1645Tibulus: Hah, no exits.
1646Derf the Bushwhacker: "Does the study have an exit at all?"
1647Tibulus: Nonezo.
1648Alazar Beldrith attempts to rejoin the others if the oil trap issue has been resolved
1649Wizzzargh (GM): Should be a dead end, yeah.
1650Trillby Dunlow follows suit angerily.
1651Trillby Dunlow: "YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME MORE UGLY HUH?!"
1652Alazar Beldrith: (flames going out n such)
1653Tibulus is right behind her casting crow scare.
1654Alazar Beldrith: "this monsters clever"
1655Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, fiery death is no longer on the menu Alazar
1656Derf the Bushwhacker rushes the door and takes out the lock and chain from the front door when we first enterred the mansion and chains it shut and locks it
1657Tibulus: Nah, we're killing it.
1658Trillby Dunlow: "Good Derf. Lock it in with us!"
1659Alazar Beldrith: "i wonder if i could capture part of its cleverness by turning parts of its brain into a potion?"
1660Wizzzargh (GM): Is that how you wish to do?
1661Tib and Trill enter, Derf locks door behind them?
1662Alazar Beldrith: "i dont like this plan."
1663Derf the Bushwhacker: (( i have no real clue what is happening ))
1664Tibulus: That would be, something.
1665Alazar Beldrith: "who has ranged weapons?"
1666Trillby Dunlow: I don't mind
1667Death or death is all fine by Trill
1668Alazar Beldrith: "they should stay in the door way and attack from there. locking the door if the monster trys to escape that way. but otherwise helping kill it"
1669"that way we dont cut off our own escape route"
1670Trillby Dunlow: 8 To hit it.
1671Wizzzargh (GM): Trillby's charged in!
1672Tib said he'd be right behind her casting crow scare, so that's what he's up to
1673Alazar Beldrith attempts to get an angle to throw his lucky rock at it through the door with out actually having to go inside
1674Wizzzargh (GM): Trillby looks for the scorpion but fails to locate it...
167510
1676Tib, on the other hand, spots it and interrupts it's sneak attack by summoning a crow in its face!
1677It was hanging onthe back side of the door
1678Tail whipping at Trillby- no good angle to hit it with a rock I'm afraid Alazar
1679Alazar Beldrith stays ready to hit it when its visable
1680Trillby Dunlow positions and holds her shield ready to block it's attacks.
1681Tibulus: I doff the husk pot onto the ground at it's feet.
1682Trillby Dunlow: 4 Swings the sword once more at it.
1683Tibulus: crack
1684Alazar Beldrith: (hold on a second. its on the back of the door?)
1685Tibulus: Yup.
1686Alazar Beldrith: (could i kick the door in to smack it against the wall using the door as a crushing weapon against it?)
1687(or is this a different door?)
1688Tibulus: Neat idea.
1689Wizzzargh (GM): Not enough room to swing your sword in here Trillby- it catches on something
1690go for it alazar
1691Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d20
1692(
169318
1694)
1695= 18
1696Wizzzargh (GM): Alazar leaps over the discarded husk in her pot and rams into the door swinging it shut against the wall for 1d4 damage!
1697Alazar Beldrith: (id like to keep my weight on the door to pin it between the wall and the door)
1698(So its stuck there unable to get us)
1699(And the others can keep hitting it)
1700Wizzzargh (GM): Aight, you didn't roll quite good enough for a special move like that
1701Alazar Beldrith: (do i still get the 1d4?)
1702Trillby Dunlow: 15 Will try to stab at it instead of swing.
1703Wizzzargh (GM): so it will slip out and take 1d4 instead
1704Tibulus: The husk is supposed to create a terrain hazard, btw. Smashing the pot and creating the hazard of touching the bound husk.
1705Alazar Beldrith: rolling 1d4
1706(
17074
1708)
1709= 4
1710Wizzzargh (GM): There's a nasty crunch!
1711the tarp-bound husk wriggles wildly.. 2
17126
1713No one is particularly menaced by the husk. The najka scurries past everyone.. but as it moves, Trillby skewers it!
1714roll damage
1715Tibulus: Yeah, I guess we're all way too close quarters for that to have been a good idea.
1716Trillby Dunlow: 4
1717Wizzzargh (GM): 8
1718Trillby Dunlow: BUT!
1719Wizzzargh (GM): It dead!
1720Trillby Dunlow: Wonderful
1721Alazar Beldrith pokes it with the spear a little to make sure its dead
1722Trillby Dunlow: "Tricks on you...couldn't make me more ugly"
1723Tibulus: Woop! We're heroes.
1724A jab right behind the eerie human face and the thing spasms and goes limp.
1725Alazar Beldrith once hes sure its dead he examines it and trys to figure out what parts to harvest
1726Trillby Dunlow: "Can we eat it?"
1727Alazar Beldrith: "let me check"
1728Trillby Dunlow: "Is it edible?"
1729Wizzzargh (GM): The poison tail you're guessing... though the eerie human face on it would be a creepy possibility as well.
1730Tibulus secures the husk to the table and exits to tend Watli.
1731Alazar Beldrith takes the dead thing to the kitchen
1732Alazar Beldrith uses some of the knives and other such things there to help take the monster apart
1733Alazar Beldrith attempts to take the tail and the face from it
1734Alazar Beldrith then trys to figure out of the less magically useful parts could be boiled up and used as food similar to lobster
1735Wizzzargh (GM): Success... there's even a malformed human skull inside the carapace.
1736You reckon you could boil it up like a lobster, but cannibalism has a taboo thanks to the Blood Moon that you'd be aware of
1737Tibulus: "Good, that's handled. Cawla, please find everyone, dead or alive."
1738Wizzzargh (GM): If this thing is partially human, eating it could erode your humanity
1739Alazar Beldrith: "well good news bad news."
1740"the good news is yes i could cook it. buuut"
1741"bad news is i think it was once human"
1742"and im not sure it would be a good idea to do so"
1743Tibulus: "Get rid of it, and clean up after yourself, then burn this when you're done."
1744Tibulus passes his incense to Alazar.
1745Wizzzargh (GM): Cawwrla: Unhurt
1746Axli- Unhurt
1747Otlot: Missing
1748Caz- dead in orchard
1749Meztic- dead 200 feet south of mansion, found the next day
1750Watli- May never walk unaided again, but alive
1751Alazar Beldrith: "i wonder if i could steal a monsters legs and use them to make something to fix that person it used as bait?"
1752"eh. ill worry about that later"
1753Derf the Bushwhacker is looking all confused and angry that he was useless
1754Alazar Beldrith attempts to get cleaned up and dispose of the not as useful parts of the monster
1755Alazar Beldrith: "i think i know what i want to hunt but im not sure it exists."
1756"and i should probably get some practice in first"
1757"and some better tools"
1758Derf the Bushwhacker angrily retrieves his lock and chain
1759Trillby Dunlow: 1.5 yo
1760Alazar Beldrith attempts to craft and sharpen Face Gouger into a better weapon and add little serrated groves into it better able to hold poison and upgrade it with the monsters poisonous tail to become alot more poisonus
1761Trillby Dunlow: "I guess Miss Mute got out of here before the thing came."
1762Alazar Beldrith: (a throwing stone is not very scary. annoying yes but not as scare. but a masterwork one with poison might scare people)
1763(ill need to borrow some tools tho)
1764(For working it)
1765(can i find any appropriate ones in the area?)
1766Tibulus: I really didn't have her on the resident list...
1767Trillby Dunlow: She was here when we left
1768Alazar Beldrith: (ill probably be removing my armor to work on it long term now that we feel safer)
1769Wizzzargh (GM): Beatrice is probably hanging with someone (or someTHING) she likes more than the rehydrated husk crew
1770Trillby Dunlow: Probs
1771Wizzzargh (GM): In any case ALazar, you probs want to hold off on poisoning your rock just yet
1772Alazar Beldrith: (ok.)
1773Wizzzargh (GM): lest the poison dry up before you get to use it
1774Alazar Beldrith: (ah so its not a "enchant rock with poison glands" deal.)
1775Wizzzargh (GM): It could be
1776but that would need 1000c of research materials and a week of downtime
1777Alazar Beldrith: (i see. Ok then ill save the tail for later)
1778Wizzzargh (GM): In any case
1779I think this is a good stopping point for tonight
1780Any last loose ends to take care of?
1781Tibulus: Ok. So, we'll bury Meztic and Caz in the basement.
1782Zeven K.: (game is abit odd and creepy. but fun so far.)
1783Tibulus: "Alazar, your research and materials need to be kept within the mages study, Axli and Cawla don't need to be exposed to that."
1784Zeven K.: (i like that i was able to use a door as a weapon. that was funny.)
1785Alazar Beldrith: "alright"
1786Wizzzargh (GM): Glad to hear
1787Trillby Dunlow: "I am planning to travel to town soon... If we need any supplies... make a list."
1788Zeven K.: (whens next game session?)
1789Alazar Beldrith: "a new waterskin would be nice."
1790"also some more rations"
1791Tibulus: Watli will have to use the manibuscobe and Cawwla to continue his work on the still.
1792We'll ofc clean up.
1793Derf the Bushwhacker is angry at himself and sulking and reading in the study.
1794Wizzzargh (GM): Gonna have to call yourself Derf The Husklassoer instead
1795Tibulus: And last but not least, the Husk.
1796Wizzzargh (GM): as for next session, saturday sounds like a 'maybe'
1797Trillby Dunlow: Alright I am off.
1798Wizzzargh (GM): past that we'll be looking at tuesday/wed/thurs instead
1799Tibulus: I'll be here all weekend.
1800Derf the Bushwhacker: goodnight
1801Tibulus: GN.
1802Wizzzargh (GM): Night, gg, thanks for playing all
1803Tibulus: Wait, I wanna reanimate the husk!
1804The reanimated husk is a woman in her early twenties with hair black as a raven's wings and eyes green as grass, and high cheekbones. Almost precisely the face from the Najka, really
1805Wizzzargh (GM): She also has one leg because Derf chopped it off back when she was Bull-Head-Helmet Elite Guard
1806She alternates between rage at you lot and crushing, nigh catatonic despair
1807Tibulus: Can I roll parenting on her?
1808Wizzzargh (GM): Yeah, but don't expect immediate results
1809And what exactly are you gonna do with her? A job on the mansion farm? Confinement to a bed?
1810 She seems to be in a state of emotional transition, much like a teenager. We'll try to get her non-homicidal first. Then, based on personality, help her along whatever path she chooses.
1811Can I get an assist from Axli for the d8?
1812Wizzzargh (GM): Yee, Axli's acting as Cawwrla's mom figure
1813Tibulus: 10
1814Noice.
1815Wizzzargh (GM): You have high hopes
1816Though she and Derf probably won't see eye to eye...
1817But she was drilled with certain ideals, then thrown away like trash
1818Tibulus: I like the RP there, maybe Derf will do some char development.
1819Wizzzargh (GM): Yo don't get the sense there's undying loyalty to her past masters
1820She's just sort of angry and aimless at the moment
1821Tibulus: A very teen mindset.
1822Tibulus has experience with that.
1823Ni'Len: Did def remove that leg or did frilly?
1824Tibulus: Can I get some info dump from her? Perhaps later, bc it's late and the info might not exiat yet. But background and intel would be nice.
1825Wizzzargh (GM): It was a joint effort
1826She probably isn't fond of Trilly either
1827Tibulus: And someone else removed it. You guys just pulped it.
1828Exist*
1829Wizzzargh (GM): I thinkit did get chopped off in the end
1830but yeah, that leg took every form of physical damage
