1we're talking about the topic of
2removing negative and insecure thinking
3it's a big topic one that I get a lot of
4emails from from people about and I've
5actually never addressed this topic in
6this way before so I really hope this
7approach will help and it's it is it
8isn't an important one an appropriate
9one because in our first session we
10talked about the diamond metaphor and
11how we're kind of like diamonds
12underneath right the best that we have
13yet to shine gets covered over by the
14dirt of our thought conditioning that
15we've all learned growing up and it's
16really like that I found to be too I've
17studied confidence now for you know over
1810 years maybe even a little more since
19I noticed that I had quote unquote low
20self-esteem didn't have the life I wand
21in feels confident as I wanted all these
22kinds of things done all kinds of
23self-help or shelf help we might call
24him with all the books and stuff and the
25barnes noble and on amazon a lot of them
26are good but I've come to find that it
27was really weird especially when i came
28across the inside-out understanding or
29three principles which we'll get into
30more even more in this call the idea
31that it's actually there's a lot less to
32do and sometimes it's like undoing you
33know not doing all we thought we had to
34do in order to access this capacity for
35natural confidence the capacity for
36well-being and how life unfolds in a
37completely different way when we operate
38from that understanding rather than a
39misunderstanding that there's a lot to
40do to get it or even though there's
41anything to do to get it which is really
42really hard for our minds to grasp when
43we're used to
44the kind of thought that says what you
45must always strive and work hard to
46achieve things and I'm not saying that
47you don't have to strive and work hard
48to say chisel your body right because
49it's obvious that you do but the
50misunderstanding is that it works in the
51opposite for well-being and so we learn
52these models of thinking that I've got
53to do all this work for everything and
54it's just not so and I mean we can even
55say this I've look I'm not a buff guy
56I'm in pretty good shape for my age okay
57but I've seen stuff on the health
58websites that say when people over train
59and over do they actually not only do
60they injure themselves they actually
61reduce the capacity to get the results
62they want in shaping their body that's
63true so there is sometimes work involved
64in you know when we're caught in the
65soup of our negative thinking our
66insecure thinking we're just like oh
67this this sucks this hurts this is
68suffering right this is miserable
69sometimes it's work right to be in that
70it feels like a lot it's overwhelming
71and what we tend to want to do is do
72something right to get out of it we want
73to do something and fight the thoughts
74combat the thoughts combat the mind if
75that really doesn't work well when we're
76talking about our psyche and you know a
77lot of a lot of times we'll talk about
78well we need to let go or we did not
79resist and that's closer and still could
80be good moves and I'll I'll have a whole
81section on moves that we can make but if
82we don't understand how our minds are
83working we can make all the moves we
84want and it's like it's like we're
85always going to go uphill and maybe
86we'll go less uphill and we'll go
87downhill sometimes but it's like we're
88always slowly going up hill instead of
89realizing
90there's a there's a flat and downhill
91way that this works and it just works
92this way that's what I'm puttin out
93there to you guys and you guys have to
94verify from within your own experience
95because I can't do that for you but from
96looking what's happening just even after
97the first session I can see there are
98people that people are seeing things and
99why is that well because you see this is
100already this knowledge this wisdom
101really is already inside all of us the
102only thing that gets in the way of it is
103a bunch of thought conditioning and
104we've all been immersed in it and and
105it's not a conspiracy it's just it's
106been a misunderstanding okay so I want
107to use two terms i want to introduce two
108terms when I speak about how our minds
109work in this way okay and the two terms
110are the inside out understanding versus
111the outside in misunderstanding okay and
112what these terms mean is inside out is
113what I'm saying here and what the
114materials saying is that our minds only
115work this way inside out whether we like
116it or not okay so we can say and go no
117it doesn't work inside out and we'll
118have whatever experience we have but the
119truth of the matter is that it does
120instead of outside in meaning that
121what's happening out there and the
122circumstance or the events or the people
123right are affecting not saying affecting
124but creating creating my experience is
125not how it works now certainly there it
126can be catalysts in triggers but it's
127the thought this principle of five its
128generating our experience as these
129things happen so called out there right
130outside of us or what we perceive to be
131outside of us so thought generates
132perception
133feeling our experience of things not
134experiences in well I've got work
135experience but are literally how we're
136experiencing things in the moment as
137they unfold thought is this almost like
138energetic shiftable thing that just kind
139of like has has this power to shift on
140its own right and yeah do we have some
141control over it sometimes yeah of course
142you know I actually didn't experiment
143the other day in front of it I was
144standing in my living room and I was
145like okay well you know a lot of times
146when I speak I say well who is who is
147known what they're gonna think 10
148minutes before now ten minutes ago did
149you know you'll be thinking nobody ever
150says she has to raise their hands and
151then I then I was like two minutes one
152minute well what about one second okay
153what about one second before as it's
154happening and so I go I'm going to think
155about what elephants right and so what I
156did is I'm thinking about what elephants
157I see the white elephants so I am in
158control but there's all this other
159thoughts swirling around it that I have
160no control over it just happens so yes
161we have some capacity to affect our
162thought but it also happens beside all
163of our effort to try to like manipulate
164or control it okay and do the experiment
165and if I do it for yourself like try to
166say okay I'm going to think about green
167guitars green guitar of screen guitars
168and you'll notice all this other
169thoughts stuff swirling around it's it's
170it's really interesting so this thought
171thing just happens and of course the
172outside a misunderstanding is when
173somebody you know cuts us off in traffic
174and we go that person to jerk they cut
175us off but the truth is how we're
176feeling based on our the thought that's
177in our consciousness and awareness at
178the moment is totally coloring and
179shaping that experiences it happens
180because I don't know about you but in
181past everybody who cut me off actually
182know people that cut me off never really
183pissed me off usually if they made a
184move and I would be like good move right
185where other people get mad I always got
186upset the slow drivers right I like to
187go like to go I'm like a faster driver
188on my way okay so any time I came up
189with slower driver it's like you're
190driving too slow you were pissing me off
191right but see I didn't understand in
192that situation that the fact was that
193I'm feeling my thinking experiencing my
194thinking perceiving my thinking about
195that externalized object of the driver
196of the person and so now the truth is I
197have a variety of experiences because
198I'm still pretty conditioned to go go go
199so if I get in front of somebody
200actually I don't I hardly get upset I
201might have some thought but I used to
202get raging mad the same thing when I
203used to live in New York City and i
204would get off the train and people were
205slow why are these people going so slow
206what's wrong with the world right and
207and I was completely blaming the
208circumstance for what was quote-unquote
209wrong or how is feeling and we do this
210with everything when we confuse and
211forget that it's being generated through
212thought and again thought isn't just an
213electoral thought it's this principle
214stuff that happens right and I mean I
215don't know exactly what it is no one
216knows exactly what it is we can have
217scientists explain what they think it is
218and representations of it through models
219of neurology or quantum physics or
220molecular biology but they all never are
221it their representations of it and ones
222that could be useful when we can
223manipulate and know things and I even
224heard a quote the other day that
225somebody read a book and they said we
226know less about the mind
227then we know about the universe out
228there and that's crazy to me because we
229have this whole universe going on within
230our consciousness within us all the time
231so the inside out understanding is that
232it works in this fashion and look this
233is this is a as simple as it gets but as
234useful as it gets as far as I've found
235when we think about thought as a
236principle and when we think okay you
237know without getting caught in the
238details of how it works specifically but
239that it works this way we start to free
240up and see that our negative thinking or
241insecure thinking our social anxiety
242thinking it's just a bunch of thought
243generating our experience that on some
244level is no different then when we get
245up and think about what do I have to do
246at work today okay if we start to treat
247it neutrally the power is removed of
248that thought conditioning without
249changing the thought without even having
250to shape it it like starts to fall away
251and again when I say about the
252understanding it's like a deeper sense
253it's not an intellectual thing and
254that's what's tricky here at first and
255some of you have been seeing and having
256those insights right we see this deeper
257sense through insight which is kind of a
258whole being understanding oh wow she's I
259wow that wasn't what I thought it was it
260was this and not that instead of oh yeah
261it makes sense to me and this but then
262you'll notice if you try to logically
263constantly work it out even though
264there's a logic to it there is a logic
265to it it's a deeper kind of logic I
266would say but your mind will just go
267round and round and round and round and
268round and round in circles and it can't
269solve certain things about it but what
270I'm going to call your own inner wisdom
271or your deeper intuition knows this
272already or it makes so much sense to it
273and believe me I'm a highly intellectual
274guy I studied molecular biology
275biochemistry these kinds of things and
276if your intellectual don't worry about
277it because I've had very intellectual
278people get this very quickly when we
279allow ourselves to set to look kind of
280more behind the words of what I'm saying
281that's why I use a lot of stories and
282metaphors as we're as well because it's
283not about the exact words it's about the
284direction i'm pointing in the place i'm
285pointing to okay so now a really
286important thing about this inside-out
287understanding and outside and
288misunderstanding is that it's not wrong
289to be outside n okay it's not wrong none
290of this is inherently better than the
291other of course you know we're going to
292want to go how do I get the inside out
293how do I apply it how do I make it work
294that's okay too to want that we all want
295that I want that when I'm outside in
296misunderstanding my reality creation
297okay but if your internet is outside in
298place the the worst thing we can do to
299ourselves is beat ourselves up and judge
300ourselves for being lost and thought and
301caught up in our anxiety it's just like
302it's going to work against us so we make
303our best effort to understand and to see
304and to understand on deeper levels okay
305no this is creating my experiences
306thought thing this isn't real inherently
307even though I'm having this
308quote-unquote real experience that I
309feel right it feels very real and it is
310in that sense but it's coming from
311something illusory which is thought okay
312and what I mean by Alou Suri is it comes
313and goes it's totally dynamic and
314shifting and it's never static thought
315is right it comes and goes now when we
316think and believe that the thought is
317static it's like our reality becomes
318crystallized like that right and that's
319what a social anxiety reality is like
320it's like constantly like that so now I
321want to introduce the principle of
322consciousness so we've got the principal
323thought the principle of consciousness
324right and so this is where an expansion
325expansion of our understanding and our
326awareness helps us see beyond the
327thought that's been creating a really
328not fun experience of shyness and social
329anxiety okay so consciousness has this
330power to lock thought in and they work
331together they don't work separately they
332work in unison okay and so consciousness
333is like this I like the elevator analogy
334let's say for instance you come to this
335program and this this kind of material
336I'm talking about this in understanding
337and your consciousness goes from level 1
338to 5 in the elevator okay and this by
339the way is an infinite level elevator
340although I'm I'm pretty much going to
341leave one at the bottom but I guess I
342suppose it could go to negative floors
343why not but we're going to say you come
344in at 125 and that's where your
345consciousness fluctuates on your
346awareness of your thoughts of your
347reality okay and so you go up and down
348in that and you feel different
349experiences of thought I mean thought
350comes and goes anyways and if you're if
351you're at a five in the elevator you're
352seeing more of what's going on
353and you can like you can come right you
354can see more without this material
355because you are our consciousness and
356awareness expands it just does it and
357there's this weird thing that we can
358expand our consciousness more so for
359instance as you start to gain more
360insights your bottom level now maybe a
361two or three and you've expanded your
362top level to a seven or a ten and so you
363don't go back down to one anymore too
364but you do bottom down to three okay
365again it's not bad it's just where
366someone's adding their understanding and
367so when you go down in the dumps and
368your consciousness contracts and you're
369not seeing things how you want to see
370them right or you're getting confused in
371thought then you go back down to three
372but you can achieve even better states
373at seven let's say or 10 but here's the
374thing also that I've noticed about even
375this metaphor is a little bit limited is
376that you start to gain a sense of
377knowing that the elevator works like
378this outside of the whole floors right
379of the numbers of floors that you start
380to rely on and go hmm I know my
381consciousness if I let it will rise so
382this is an elevator that if we don't
383believe our thought conditioning or try
384to chip ourselves up in it naturally
385rises so you know how some elevators
386reset at the bottom well this this
387elevator resets at the top okay the
388elevator of consciousness and the more
389that we understand and see this from
390inside out from our own experience the
391more we access these higher level
392capacities for well-being the thing that
393keeps us down so it's like the elevator
394is trying to reset already always and
395it's our thought that keeps us down
396or somebody goes and takes a bunch of
397drugs and they're trying to get to the
398higher levels in the best way they know
399how when they abuse drugs and the
400elevators but there's we for some reason
401we have this amazing capacity just push
402that elevator down when we misunderstand
403so consciousness is the fact that we're
404aware thought creates our experience and
405consciousness brings it to life brings
406the principal thought to life okay and
407again these are things that we just
408notice and see and observe and we test
409for ourselves we test we don't trust we
410test to see is what David David is
411saying here does this play out if I
412really take a look and the thing that
413gives us confused is the thought we've
414been conditioned in you're going to hear
415me say that over and over you can hear
416me say a lot of the same things over and
417over because the repetition is really
418important and so again we're all doing
419the best that we can we can't not do the
420best that we're doing the only thing
421that would tell us that is a thought
422right because the level of understanding
423that we have in any given moment is the
424level we got that's the truth the idea
425that we can be better in the moment
426isn't inherently true if we want to say
427I want to be better in the future that's
428a thought projection in the moment of
429the future because the future doesn't
430exist it only exists in thought right
431and also it's the same thing if we take
432a look at how the future turns out or
433what we think the quote unquote future
434turns out as it arrives in the moment
435that we get there it's never the same
436thing we expect sometimes we can expect
437some things but the whole thing in
438entirety
439generally isn't entirely what we think
440it is why because our thought in the
441moment is different in the moment in the
442future when we arrived there then the
443moment we thought of it in the past okay
444very philosophical very vague language
445sorry I can go there sometimes I want to
446bring it back down to more grounded real
447simple simple type kinds of ideas so
448again I really want to hit so hard but
449it's it's in service of being soft is
450that it's all okay where you're at when
451you're feeling real bad and when you're
452feeling real good no one is is
453inherently better than someone else
454because they're quoting will
455understanding this more okay you know if
456somebody here sees on the forums oh
457they're getting in I'm not well you know
458don't do that to yourself it's okay this
459is all about helping you understand how
460it works because what tends to happen
461the effects of it as we see deeper and
462deeper are the natural confidence comes
463out the well-being that's already there
464they come out that you don't necessarily
465have to use positive thinking a rational
466statements or letting go or anything
467that you don't have to I'm not saying
468that it wouldn't be beneficial to use
469those things because if it occurred to
470you oh you know what I am confident and
471that helped you I'm not going to tell
472you well don't think that thought
473because that's not helpful right that
474was the helpful thought that occurred
475but the funny thing is is the more that
476we settle into national confidence and
477things none of those thoughts occur to
478us because we're relaxed we're in the
479flow of our experience without as Sydney
480banks the guy who came up with this
481understanding would say the
482contamination of human thought of
483thought conditioning
484right and again Sid banks was the guy
485who had this insight that he really
486believed he was insecure and one day he
487saw that he wasn't because his friend
488said you just think you're insecure and
489the whole thing blew open for him for
490whatever reason doesn't go like that for
491most of us but for him it did you know
492in a one moment you know I had some
493moments like that in a different way
494around different things but the fact
495that this insecure thinking which all
496human beings have especially because
497we're trying to get happiness and
498well-being and from outside of ourselves
499because the things outside of ourselves
500are always shifting and changing they
501never stay right nothing ever stays it
502just that's the nature of reality
503shifting and changing like thoughts so
504is the stuff out there right even the
505buildings look so solid right now one
506day won't be here even the earth one day
507won't be here the Sun one day won't be
508here it's a really long time away and so
509when we attach our validation of
510happiness well-being to outside things
511or that we're confident because we got a
512good result we're outside and
513misunderstanding and were headed for
514misery even if we're feeling good in the
515moment we're headed for the suffering
516now again it's also okay to you should
517feel good if you get a good result I've
518done way too much of like pooh-poohing
519my good results well it's just you know
520whatever that's that's no good either
521okay celebrate celebrate it all
522celebrate your wins celebrate your
523failures if you know which are all made
524up words anyway and the more that we see
525that it happens inside out the less it
526matters what result we get and we can
527still want to create things and want to
528create friends and relationships
529romantically or you know better better
530interactions at work but it's so much
531more effortless and easy because we're
532not pushing and trying so hard because
533is we understand things in a different
534way okay so I want to talk about a game
535metaphor here because games are the game
536analogy is really cool and so I want to
537talk about the games we play as human
538beings in the in particular these
539thought games that we play it's it's as
540if we're all acting like we don't know
541what I'm talking about here you know
542this understanding that this guy named
543Sidney banks came towards it's like
544we're playing these thought games we're
545playing a social anxiety little thought
546game with ourselves it's a game of
547suffering and we're going round and
548round and we go in these patterns and we
549go around in these patterns and we act
550and we behave from them and we're shy
551and we don't realize that we're playing
552this kind of made up game of thought
553it's like a negative thought game and we
554play other kinds of games too we might
555play a game of I'm not good enough or we
556could play the game of you know my mom
557doesn't love me right I played that game
558or my mom you know doesn't really care
559she doesn't show me affection you know
560making it up and thought the story of it
561and I think it's an interesting because
562if we start to look at as a little game
563that we play an unconscious game that we
564can become more conscious of maybe
565there's a possibility we can lighten up
566from it because the gravity of social
567anxiety when we're lost in our stories
568and our thoughts about nobody wants to
569talk to me
570nobody wants to be my friend I'm too
571weird what if that's all just a game in
572our mind a funny little game that we
573play with ourselves that we learned we
574didn't really know we learned it but we
575did and if we this is what's occurring
576to me now is like is there a way to make
577it fun because games have an inherent
578aspect to them okay and the thing about
579games is you can't play a game unless
580you choose to play it so in a sense
581especially as we gain more awareness
582it's like we're choosing to play this
583game and are there other games I'd
584rather play right you know I we're going
585to play the game until we're done
586playing it in truth right or we get you
587know we we maybe we stop playing the
588social anxiety thought game for a while
589and then we we get sucked back in
590because we're so used to playing it
591right our neural pathways are so used to
592playing this negative thought game and
593then we go yeah yeah you know ok just a
594little game I've learned to play with
595myself don't really want to play that
596game anymore I'd rather play this game
597I'd rather play the game of natural
598confidence I'd rather play the game of
599connection with myself and with others
600what's that game like to play what
601thought occurs to me if I play that game
602instead of the negative social anxiety
603vacuum again I don't want to be get
604judgmental about one is better than the
605other but because in truth if you really
606enjoy playing the social anxiety thought
607game who am I to tell you you know don't
608play it that's your choice but there are
609all these other possibilities out there
610that just might be a whole lot more fun
611and easier than we think to go play an
612access
613then we've believed in the past or that
614we be even believed right now so I want
615to I want to finish off and just
616introduce the third principle and then I
617want to talk about some moves that week
618I want to talk about moves that we can
619make in the last program I tried to
620avoid that in this program I'm feeling
621compelled to share them with you with a
622caveat and the caveat is this is that
623whatever moves we make never Trump our
624own personal clarity our wisdom our
625understanding because any technique or
626any tactic can totally be null and void
627in the moment that something new might
628occur to us or something that's more in
629presence of who we really are of a
630natural confident confidently person
631that I know everybody is within the only
632reason we're not is because we're
633playing that little funny thought game
634of social anxiety ok so the third
635principle is a principle of mind ok now
636mind is not your you know when I say
637your mind you're little you know our
638personal mind we'll call it with a small
639M it's a the universal mind with a
640capital m and it really means life ok
641it's the principle of life that there's
642this aliveness that happens here in our
643worlds in our universe right everything
644apparently came from somewhere which
645nobody really knows mine could be called
646the god principal right it could be
647called the universal principle could be
648called spirit it could be called the
649quantum field or the Higgs boson field
650if you wanted to find it that way
651whatever they've no gotten down to in
652science ok but there's this force
653of life that activates everything that
654is everything okay now it's not
655important to understand intellectually I
656just want to make sure everybody knows
657because these again are intellectual
658things these principles so the principle
659of mind the principle of consciousness
660the principle of thought and they all
661work together in unison to create our
662experience of life now I like I like it
663said this way the principle of mind is
664like we're alive the principle of
665consciousness is we're aware and the
666principle of thought is through thought
667our experiences in creation bot is the
668creative principle right the god
669principle the awareness principle and
670the creative principle mind
671consciousness and thought and these are
672principles that are like they're more on
673the level of energy then they are of
674something solid and real okay or quote
675unquote solid and real which is very
676debatable as well right we can take a
677look at a table and go okay well this
678table is solid but what level are we
679looking we know on a molecular level on
680an atomic level that there's a lot of
681space in there and atoms are vibrating
682so it's not as solid as we would think
683it is it certainly is in terms of our
684physical reality you know go ahead and
685try to put your hand through a table
686good luck but it's also not what we
687think it is what it actually is is never
688what we think it is which is a perfect
689for the explanation for the principle of
690thought it literally we experience it
691through thought it's a table right the
692one in front of me is brown and then if
693I think about it in terms of atomic I
694have a different experience of it if I
695think of it in terms of hard physical
696solid I have a different experience of
697it okay and a lot of these thought
698associations are just unconscious
699they're just there and we don't see them
700and the more that we expand our
701consciousness the more we see things in
702different ways and it's like we can pick
703and choose our reality that we
704experience which affects our results for
705things like making friends
706making connections finding dates so on
707and so forth okay going deep down the
708rabbit hole guys I promise you that so
709all all for the sake of bringing out
710natural confidence which has been a big
711promise of this course is to show you
712how it works okay so now that we've gone
713through these principles and don't worry
714if you have questions we'll talk more
715about them that's what the forum is for
716that's what q and A's are for all that
717stuff don't worry if if it's going a
718little fast or it's going over your head
719believe me when I first heard all that
720so it went way over my head and it's
721been a constant continual unfolding as I
722learned more and more the same will be
723for you if you stick with it okay so
724let's talk about some moves we can make
725okay because I I know some people are
726and what I'm what I'm saying here's our
727things that these moves are things that
728tend to work well with the principles in
729a sense okay and you can add whatever
730move you want whatever move occurs to
731you is the best move you can make trying
732to implement one of these moves and said
733well David said and I'm going to just
734keep using this over and over and bang
735my you know bang this move into the wall
736like I'd bang my head into the wall you
737know don't do that don't take what i say
738is gospel as far as these moves by any
739means please but they're meant to be
740useful as sometimes it might be useful
741to go hey you know there's a guy named
742Michael Neal who says he has a
743five-minute rule he'll he'll try to do
744some things for five minutes that might
745be useful and if he doesn't then he just
746says screw it and he doesn't do anything
747he lets go which is kind of a move in
748itself right so these simple moves are
749things to help us see thought more
750especially when we're in a negative and
751insecure place in our thinking right and
752remember that you're never inherently
753negative insecure like you're not just a
754negative an insecure person
755it's it's it's the thought right that
756maybe manifests us as feeling negative
757insecure and doing things that are quote
758unquote negative and insecure but
759inherently no one is negative and
760insecure it's a thought generated thing
761okay so with these moves we can make the
762simpler the better fancy big processes
763they don't lend well to to seeing this
764understanding more and these are our
765moves that I that I really intend that
766will help you see deeper if if you want
767an idea of somewhere to start ok so the
768first thing which is probably one of the
769simplest but hardest things for us to do
770because we're so not conditioned this
771way is to do nothing and let the let the
772mind reset right just let the mind reset
773when we talk about the default state of
774well-being if we let it reset the
775elevator Rises and we can reset there's
776a possibility of resetting into that
777well-being because we're not throwing
778more thoughts to get in the way to
779contaminate the reset right to disturb
780the reset which is trying to do anyways
781the only thing that would get in the way
782of that is us thinking that it can't
783reset on its own so the mine works like
784when we cut our finger and it heals up
785naturally our mind works in the same way
786if we let it okay so in a way this is
787probably the most one of the most
788advanced things you can do in one of the
789simplest things you can do and one of
790the best things that you can do and I
791say give it a shot but don't try to make
792it into something that I must do nothing
793because we can get we can get down the
794wrong road we can turn that into a
795thought and then we can say well I'm
796doing it wrong and I'm doing nothing and
797I'm really trying too hard
798but doing nothing means doing nothing
799you can't try to do nothing right and
800that's that's the Zen paradoxical tricky
801thing about it okay man I made a big
802list of things here and some of them are
803are kind of related but so I'll go
804through them I'll go through them the
805ones i think that are most important
806i'll go through those and spend a little
807more time on those so the first one is
808do i do nothing and let the mine reset
809the second is to be friends with your
810mind which is sort of like going with
811your mind instead of against it right
812it's the don't resist right and again
813I've you know when I used to teach a
814more mindful way of this kind of stuff
815which is useful I would also run into
816people saying well I'm try not to resist
817and they're resisting right by trying
818not to resist so going with it is a
819great thing it's like or even seeing
820your mind is not against you but your
821mind is doing the best that it can it
822just doesn't know what else to do okay a
823third one we can talk about is to let
824your thought flow just let it flow like
825water because it's going to flow anyways
826right like a waterfall a big one and
827you're like Niagara Falls you're like
828okay I'm going to stop fought like I'm
829going to try to stop Niagara Falls with
830my hands you're going to catch a little
831bit of water but you can't stop the
832principle of thought from doing its
833thing okay so it's best to get wet and
834go with it is the idea here the spot is
835going to flow no matter what and it
836would sort of be like a Niagara Falls
837that goes Russia's more and rushes less
838right but here's the thing no matter of
839Niagara Falls is rushing more rushing
840less if we're constantly standing at the
841waterfall trying to catch the water and
842push it back up we're going to have
843pretty much the same experience right
844because it's how we're being with the
845thought and with the mind our personal
846mind not the principle of mind
847different okay our personal little m
848minds lowercase M mind or egoic mind we
849might call it as well another thing we
850can do is turn away from thought
851literally see the thought and go I ain't
852going there you know we could even say
853pardon my french that or it
854I'm not forget it no way the more PG
855version forget that and just literally
856don't worry about it turn away from it
857there is an option my friends of not
858worrying about it I can't believe how
859right people were when they said to me
860don't worry about it in years past I did
861not have the awareness that not worrying
862was not an option no I had to think more
863no I had to worry i had to solve it nope
864literally don't have to worry about it
865and all that is is removing attention
866from which is my next one from that
867thought that's being activated to my
868consciousness so I'm taking my
869consciousness and going I'm just going
870to turn 45 degrees this way or 90 or
871whatever and turn away from the thought
872it's like a internal move right it's
873just a bunch of thought it's just a
874negative game mental thought game I'm
875playing it up I'm not playing that
876little game anymore and no matter how
877much it taunts me and goes hey come play
878can play over here I'm like no thank you
879okay we could um remove our energy from
880it which is like remove attention okay
881you know our focus of energy it's a
882similar thing but I'm talking about it
883in a sense of we can put a lot of
884emotional energy into our thoughts and
885really feel into them right I've done a
886lot of work of processing deeper
887emotions right on going emotions or
888moods and the truth is is those things
889are made of thought when they continue
890and they continue and they continue sure
891emotions fire off in our system
892but they can the perpetuity of those
893emotions are all thought driven so if we
894just pull our energy away from it same
895type of thing we talked about letting
896thought flow we can allow the thought to
897be there right just allow it to be as it
898is never one of my favorites I'd rather
899let it flow because that's how thought
900works right sometimes in Eastern
901traditions allow it to be there it's
902like it's not it makes me it to me like
903let it be there is too static when it's
904just much more dynamic than that I we
905can you can do things like try to break
906your state right you can just like get
907up and do something else and like shake
908it off shake your body you could you can
909may say a funny word like whoosh or
910swish just to like just stir things up
911right change it up change have the
912possibility of shifting the thought
913around by making this move this is it
914more of a right off a physical move you
915can make it's kind of a fun when i came
916across the whoosh a little bit it's like
917yeah I kind of like that that's kind of
918fun if I'm getting sometimes too caught
919up in my work and too caught up in my
920computer all go whoosh and there's this
921somatic experience this body experience
922that the air rushing through me and it's
923like oh okay come out of that but I only
924do that when it occurs to me right if
925it's not occurring to me to say whoosh
926then I don't do it so that's why the
927understanding is still the most
928important thing here's another one it's
929the tenth one that I have this list you
930can see your mind is a frightened child
931and embrace it or love it and just
932understand that when you're so feeling
933caught up in your negative thinking your
934social anxiety thinking that it's like
935your mind thrashing like a kid in a
936temper tantrum moves frightened not an
937enemy because we you know we generally
938want to fight our minds and it just
939doesn't it generally doesn't turn out so
940well when we do that okay
941along the same line have compassion for
942yourself in your mind right and
943especially for you if you're not getting
944it when we're beating up on ourselves
945that generally we're caught in our
946thoughts about it again it's not us who
947we are underneath right it's not our
948natural state to be beaten up on
949ourselves that's conditioned we talked
950about let you know letting go is a big
951one I'll see that on the forum so a lot
952of times when we talk about this
953understanding people say so I'm trying
954to let go the thought even when I didn't
955say let go of it but somehow it's
956implied in there okay letting go has how
957much does it works for me it's work
958sometimes some of you might resonate
959well with the move of let go really well
960you know some moves may really work for
961you and you might use it over and over
962for me what works really well tell you
963what mine are it I give up let let
964it flow turn away from the thought
965remove attention those are the ones that
966tend to work best for me especially if i
967get if there's nothing else left my my
968last one is effort I give up and then
969you things start to shift immediately
970when i get there if i see that move
971again if i don't see that move it does
972occur to me if it's not my consciousness
973I don't have access to it that's just
974the way it works with mind consciousness
975and thought right don't make a big deal
976out of it is one that I like a lot too I
977just don't make a big deal out of it if
978I don't all the social anxiety thinking
979I'm experiencing the moment which I
980don't experience very much but if you're
981experiencing a lot these days if I don't
982make it any different than oh crap I
983burnt the toast then its power starts to
984get lost over me or it gets lost away
985from me and it come back again and I'm
986like it's not a big deal because it
987ain't real anyways it's just a bunch of
988thought condition thought
989and the last is the last thing I'll say
990is don't hold weight on the thought
991don't you know when we realize we're
992feeling heavy and all the gravity of
993thought it's like that's a big signal
994that we're really caught up in the
995outside a misunderstanding and the
996weight is just thought wait so it has no
997bearing it has no wait I'm just going to
998let the weight go ok so again these are
999all examples of moves because some
1000people are like what do i do what do I
1001do I gave it to you there you go and I'm
1002never going to say that these are the
1003right moves to make because the more we
1004understand the more we see it works
1005inside out the more other moves might
1006happen or nothing we don't have to do
1007anything which is kind of the I'm a
1008little bit you know restrained to say
1009this or afraid because they don't want
1010people to make it into a thing but is
1011the is the doing nothing just realizing
1012okay the more free we are from our
1013negative and insecure thinking when we
1014see and realize on deeper levels no
1015matter what moves we make and then it's
1016like we may not have to make any moves
1017anymore because it lifts from us because
1018we our consciousness is now seen that
1019that is totally made up that me being
1020afraid of are you being afraid of
1021starting a conversation with somebody
1022those thoughts
1023are no different than any other thought
1024that thought is just thought regardless
1025of the content of it okay so all you got
1026to do here guys is do your best do the
1027best you can do that's all you got to do
1028because you can never not do more than
1029your best and you don't have to try
1030particularly hard right this is an
1031understanding that isn't rewarded by
1032more effort its rewarded by less effort
1033which is so counterintuitive how we
1034raised and conditioned but once you
1035start to flip to the other side and go
1036oh wow it really is it gets a lot easier
1037and it's it's not easy at first
1038necessarily it may not be easy and some
1039of you may be easy I don't want to color
1040anyone's experience in a certain way but
1041it may be it's certainly easier than you
1042think right because thought is telling
1043us well it can't be this way it's not
1044easy it's it doesn't I've got to pull
1045out of work in nope no you don't
1046actually doesn't work that way okay so
1047that ends the lecture section of this
1048call of this session
