<scribe> They seem to still be there somewhere because I cannot create an account with one of their names (I get "user already exists" or similar)
<scribe> I cannot find them for the life of me.
<scribe> I've searched through the user list. I've tried showing All User, but nothing.
<scribe> If I look in the User_ database table, I still see them.
<scribe> My colleague says he tried to associate them to a new organization.
<scribe> When we go to Site Memeberships, they are shown.
<scribe> but they cannot login
<scribe> any ideas what he might have done?
<cedricbr> hi scribe
<cedricbr> it seems to me your users are inactive
<scribe> Hi cedricbr
<scribe> there was something in the advanced search where we could selected "Any Status"
<cedricbr> by default, in the admin control panel, you see the users who are active
<scribe> but we couldn't seem select both "Any Status" and "All Users" at the same time
<cedricbr> (opening my control panel)
<cedricbr> which version of Liferay are you using?
<scribe> When we Select "All Users" we see a couple extra users for the other Organization/Site
<scribe> 6.1pre
<cedricbr> in the control panel, in the Users and organisations menu
<cedricbr> you can make "View all users"
<cedricbr> then you will get an advanced link
<cedricbr> under the search box
<cedricbr> in this advanced menu, you can select the status
<cedricbr> by default it is active
<scribe> right, here's the problem.
<cedricbr> I think you will then see your inactive accounts
<scribe> When we first go to Users and Organizations...
<cedricbr> which prevents you from creating new accounts
<scribe> we get 7 results.
<scribe> (7 users)
<cedricbr> yes
<scribe> when I click Show All Users...
<scribe> View All Users show 10 results.
<cedricbr> ah
<cedricbr> maybe you have some users for specific organizations ?
<scribe> yes.
<scribe> My colleague tried to move users to a new organization.
<scribe> but we can't find them.
<scribe> so, moving on...
<scribe> when I click the advanced link and then select Status: Any Status...
<scribe> I get 7 users again.
<cedricbr> if you combine, view all users + choose to see users with all status in the advanced link, you should be able to see everyone ...
<scribe> right, how do I combine?
<cedricbr> first choose "view / all users"
<scribe> done, 10 users.
<bjornjohansson> Did you try to reindex?
<cedricbr> then go in the advanced link menu
<cedricbr> and then choose the status
<bjornjohansson> under server administration
<cedricbr> yes maybe you can try to reindex too
<scribe> yeah, I and click Status: Any Status.
<scribe> and it goes to 7
<scribe> It is not combining.
<cedricbr> ok ...
<cedricbr> I don't know then, sorry :s
<scribe> trying to reindex....
<scribe> ok, just tried reindexing...
<scribe> Now all users are gone
<scribe> no one shows up anymore.
<cedricbr> restart your liferay ...
<cedricbr> it means you've just changed the way to connect to your liferay ?
<cedricbr> you've just configured an ldap ?
<cedricbr> because reindexing should not have make you loose your users
<scribe> I'm restarting.
<scribe> No, we are not using ldap
<scribe> still waiting for liferay to restart....
<scribe> 12:30:07,469 ERROR [LuceneIndexer:128] Error encountered while reindexing
<scribe> java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates its general contract!
<scribe> at java.util.TimSort.mergeLo(TimSort.java:747)
<scribe> Any advice?
<cedricbr> the lucene index in the data/lucene folder of your liferay server seems corrupted
<scribe> When I hit reindex, I get that error from the tomcat logs.
* rotty3000 has quit (Quit: Leaving.)
<cedricbr> I'm not sure here, but I think the index should be recreated if you move this folder, and restart your liferay agian
* rotty3000 (~rotty@74.210.31.18) has joined #liferay
* ChanServ gives channel operator status to rotty3000
<rotty3000> Morning All!
