15One of our current projects is an already well-established YouTube channel that’s steadily moving towards 1 million subscribers. In order to reach that target faster, we need your help!

17A scriptwriter is the individual who is fully responsible for the quality of the stories told by our characters. Our channel offers real-life stories told by American teenagers (aged up to 16) for the same generation of American teenagers. Because the project has been up and running already for several months, and we therefore already know what our audience wants, we have several requirements for our scripts:

19-Believability.Stories ought to sound like they’re being told by a real teenager, and be as close to real life as possible without creating a sense that they’re fake.

21- Topicality.The characters in our videos tell a wide range of stories – sad ones, happy ones, absurd and even shameful ones. Our task is to find subjects that will be understandable, relatable and interesting to as large a number of teenagers as possible. You can use as references the stories of real people that they’ve shared on various social media platforms. At the same time, your script should be a real story – with a beginning, the development of events, and an outcome – to ensure that the viewer doesn’t become bored. The scriptwriter looks for topics that they believe will be interesting to work on, and then discusses them with their colleagues to ensure that they ultimately become wonderful stories earning millions of views.

23- The ability to intrigue.The story should be written in lively colloquial English. Your task is to retain the attention of the viewer from the first seconds right until the closing sentence.

25- Excellent quality of English.The scriptwriter must have an advanced knowledge of English. There should be no lexical or grammatical mistakes in the text of your script. The American viewer should feel that your central characters are native English speakers. We strongly recommend writing the text in English and then translating it into Russian, and not the other way around.

27- Conformity with our format and a readiness to edit the material.Each one of our videos consists of a monologue of the main character about themselves, told in the first person. The average length of a video is 5 to 5 and a half minutes. We request that you avoid discussing topics relating to religion, politics, sex, violence, drugs and so on, even in an indirect way. The workload is around 4-6 scripts a week; more can be written if it’s possible. We pay 40 euros for one successful script.

29As a test task, we would like you to find and work on one subject that, in your view, could grab the attention of any American teenager, and write a script about it that’s 650-700 words long. Please fill the table in as it’s been done in the example (with the English text, the Russian translation, and the emotions that the voice actor should aim to convey – in both Russian and English). Send it to us as a link to a Google Docs document.
