151Last week we published an article by Seraph , Triumvirate Leaks Damaging Relations With Drone Region Federation, detailing increasing tensions between Vanguard Federation and its allies The Drone Region Federation (DRF) and Phoenix Federation alliance FCON. This article was met with initial skepticism as the intel/leaks were only available to those who have paid access to the 'foreplay' intel section of Kugutsman.com. Because the intel was not readily available to the public a portion of our readers dismissed the article as "fake news." I will have to admit the story peaked my interest as I have always been interested in the 'meta' and smoky rooms of New Eden's power brokers but I certainly understood the skepticism. I was interested not only in the disintegrating diplomatic situation in the south-eastern regions of New Eden but also as to whether 'non-public intel' that one could simply pay to access was really all as advertised or just another smoke and mirror operation that benefited one particular group in eve over another and allowed its members to claim 'anonymous sources' when writing articles or conducting negotiations.
152So I did what anyone who wants to get into the 'cool kids club' and I paid for membership. Once I had access I was honestly surprised at what I found. I assumed that the information would be low level stuff that was essentially could be found elsewhere on reddit or eve-skunk. Instead I entered a operation that counts members from pretty much every organization and walk of life in New-Eden and access to information that not only validated Seraph's article(that I could not publish) but that allowed me to than approach and interview multiple parties involved in the tension in the south that took me into a much deeper history of the disintegrating diplomatic conditions between Triumvirate and it's allies. I won't really get to much further into my experience inside kugutsumen and my experience there later as I am planning a follow up article to discuss that but I could not have gotten as deep into the real reasons behind the current tensions without that access.
153So before I dive to deep into the current political tensions I will briefly cover the history that has led us to this point. Prior to World World Bee Triumvirate moved to the south-east and with the blessing of xxDeathxx and DRF were given space in Etherium Reach and formed their own small coalition (Vanguard) and from that point on started strengthening as an alliance and doing well in their space. At this point the primary conflicts and contents for Triumvirate and DRF was daily clashes with the StainWagon Coalition who held all the south-western regions bordering on DRF and Tri's regions.
154Fast forward to the World War Bee and the next involved group, FCON, barely escaped the north after withdrawing from the Imperium on May 15th and headed south. The previously strong alliance had suffered heavily both losing its space in the MBC onslaught and having close to 25% of it's member based poached by the Imperium Leadership itself. Their leadership understood the only way to survive was to quickly cut their ties to the Imperium and withdraw well away from the WWB warzone. Their diplomats reached out to DRF leadership and brokered a deal to ally with them and Triumvirates Vanguard Coalition thus giving them space to recover and grow again. This also benefitted the DRF as it brought a new PvP alliance into the area who could be another ally in the on-going conflict with the Stain-Wagon Russians. What seemed like a well timed diplomatic victory for the bruised FCON with Tri and DRF however quickly became tense.
155In the early months following WWB things went ok. A few low level incidents occurred and the new kids on the block (FCON) agreed to share rental income with Tri as a gesture of goodwill. Things basically operated well between the groups for a short time then a one of New Edens larger power blocs announced intentions to move south. Initially dubbed 'TESTCO' due to the two alliances growing close and going to extreme lengths to back each other up, they (TESTCO) found themselves realizing they would not be able to hold their space in the north once Northern Coalition and Pandemic Legion decided they wanted Tribute and Vale for renter space. So TEST, Circle of Two, and Drone Walkers (now dubbed 'The Legacy Coalition') announced they were moving south and with intentions of evicting Stain Wagon from its 5 regions in the south in early January of this year. "The Winter War" as it was dubbed started with Stain-Wagon and its Imperium Allies opposing the invasion but the defense quickly faltered and the Imperium left the theatre of war once the writing was on the wall. From this point on Legacy quickly secured all the regions and entered into NIPS with Vanguard, FCON, DRF, and others.
156One of the side effects of this was that Triumvirate no longer had the Stainwagon entities to engage in battle and attacking the much larger Legacy Coalition (TEST and it's allies) was not a good recipe for content. Despite initial scuffles between FCON and Triumvirate in the initial months FCON had followed the diplomatic agreements and avoiding causing issues with its neighbors. This sort of brings us to more recent months and the incidents that have essentially elevated low level scuffles between 'allies' that would normally be sorted out quickly by alliance diplomats to escalate into a series of agreement violations and insults that have not brought the entire region to the point of destabilization. Furthermore mis-steps by leadership in Triumvirate and damaging leaks has created strain inside their own (Vanguard) Coalition.
157"...our coalition was never one built on trust." - Vanguard Member Triumvirate Leader, Garst Tyrell, had stepped away from the game for real life reasons and leadership temporarily passed to his XO, Cpt Patrick Archer. With the absence of the more diplomatic Garst the situation became more tense as Cpt Patrick Archer began taking a more hardline and dismissive attitude towards not only FCON but also his own coalition members.
158As this is occurring, Triumvirate,  in all likelihood some of this occurred due to the starvation of content due to the stability and peace the region was experiencing due to the Legacy Coalitions presence had created by evicting Stain Wagon, announced a deployment to the north to attack Sort Dragons and his Guardians of the Galaxy. The deployments was billed as a easy deployment to farm the GOTG coalition for good content. What triumvirate found was a tough GOTG who repeatedly responded to Triumvirate fleets with overwhelming force  and throughout the month of March repeatedly countered and beat the Triumvirate fleets while also destroying Triumvirates staging citadels. While this was occurring the remaining members of Vanguard and FCON's Phoenix Federation Coalition remained home and defended and protected Triumvirates home space.
159Things took a diplomatic turn for the worse when Triumvirate returned from their unsuccessful attack on GOTG and appears to take out the frustration and desire for content on its coalition members and allies. Over the next few months Triumvirate violated multiple diplomatic agreements by cloaking camping, launching citadels in FCON space for staging, and attacking FCON structures all in violation of the NIPS/NAPS that had been negotiated by DRF when FCON moved into the area. A series of leaks and recordings from Cpt Patrick Archer indicated that Triumvirate was considering attacking either its DRF or FCON Allies and had lost respect for its own coalition members.
160One of those coalition members, Manifesto, had caught wind of logs and recordings were Cpt. Patrick Archer had indicated his desire to attack Manifesto. As a result the Exec, Bobba C Poole, then explored options to possibly defend itself in the event Triumvirate turned on them by contacting non Manifesto entities. This brings us to the recent days and the return or Garst Tyrell. In a recent leaked recording posted, and apparently recorded without Bobba C Poole knowledge was posted on Reddit on via soundcloud and seems to validate some of Booba's concern over Cpt Patrick Archers intentions. However now my name is being thrown around and my people are being insulted. I have also found every place I go to be extremely suspicious of my previous blind loyalty to Garst and Pat but I feel like it is probably about time I go ahead and say something.

1028Let me start by saying I have nothing but the utmost respect for what Vanguard used to be. The fact however is that vanguard is no longer that.

1030Garst was brilliant leader, the fleets were fun, and coalition communication and coordination was crystal clear. When Garst went AFK for a while and Patrick took over all that stopped. From that day we stopped being "Vanguard Coalition" and instead became Triumvirates support network.  When Triumvirate deployed the people they left had no instructions, no objectives, and no support. Instead they just got "see you in a few months."

1032In HADES we slowly saw something we helped build start to crumble and fall apart so we stepped in and did what we could to try to protect not only my alliance but our friends/allies. Little did we know that this was a waste of time and plans were already in progress that did not include Vanguard Coalition but was for Triumvirate and it's advancement.
10331) The reason for kicking HADES(mentioned in the recording released by Garst) are laughable. The fact is HADES held your coalition together while you were gone. We led fleets, we opened communication, we defend your sov, and we showed up when our allies pinged for help. We worked as a team and coordinated the Wicked Creek attack with the remaining Vanguard members and outside groups to give people something to do while Patrick was up yoloing fleets at darkness.

10352) I was not burning out from leading HADES, I was stressed out and over extended myself trying to clean up Patricks diplomatic messes and repairing damage he caused every time he broke a diplomatic agreement. However after Triumvirates return I quickly found out that a new narrative was forming. We (HADES) continued to provide solid fleet numbers in support of the coalition with both sub-capital and capital doctrines yet all we heard was we were not participating or performing.

Forcing new members to join by threat of invasion and refusing to work with others whom you have agreements with are fundamental flaws that impact the entire organization negatively. You can not build a house with threats and broken promises.

2712I’ve been a member in CO2 for 5 years. Half a decade. Even in EVE this is a long time. I started as a normal member in Redhogs, moved to Balkan Mafia as a Diplomat and eventually took over as Head Diplomat for CO2. The first few years in CO2 were marked with a few bumps, but overall it was amazing. We were growing and our leadership was upbeat and well manned.

2714This started to change after World War Bee. We lost a number of key members of leadership and most of what was left went inactive. I will admit, I started to become more and more consumed with CSM duties so I didn’t give as much attention to the alliance itself from that point on, but one reason was more impacting than any… gigX projected his hate of CCP and how they were developing the game onto me. After all, the CSM works with CCP which in most peoples minds makes us close enough to get as much hate as developers themselves.
2715After everything I’d dealt with over the last 18 months, what pushed over the edge? The breakdown of Legacy. I was in Iceland walking down a street with BRAVE leadership member Yukiko Kami when I got a ping from gigX with the now famous Doomchincilla leaks. Yukiko had no idea himself, but soon it was confirmed from his side just as it was mine. I was shocked that things could fall apart so spectacularly so quickly, and was frustrated that we (CO2) had taken this route. I had asked our leadership to calm down and not blow up our coalition. Both sides (TEST+complacent alliances / CO2) were at fault, taking blue status from people we each didn’t like and making moves without informing each other.

2717gigX has expressed his wish to disband CO2 for many months now, driving away good corps who found out like Totally Into Spaceships. What did these corps, who were loyal and simply lost faith in their leadership get in return? They were shit talked in private channels, undermined and even one was removed for wanting a meeting with gigX to boost their morale and understand what was happening. Good people treated badly. That is something I can’t keep turning a blind eye to. Aryth from Goonswarm offered me an out, and I’m taking it.

2719Why did I do it this way? Partly because of how much I’ve put into CO2 and wanting to leave with something to show for it. Partly because gigX needs to let CO2 die and move on with his life. Partly because some of these corps that have been removed deserve some of their effort back themselves. While I know people will hate me for this action purely because of the fanatical culture that exists in CO2, I want you to know that my aim was never to hurt the line member of CO2. Maybe one day we will fly together again, but it won’t be under the leadership of gigX.
