SCP-3008 Lone Survivor Survival Guide - By Just Some Guy

---Food---
Food is found on tables near big brown/orange cubes and is therefor easy to see from a distance. A random amount of food can spawn up to one food item per table or none at all. You can stockpile food in your inventory as it never rots.
Food can also spawn in cafeterias which are quite rare but are sometimes easy to see as they kind of carve into the warehouse walls. Food can be plentiful in cafeterias.

---General Survival---
Hunger: You must eat food to fill the green bar otherwise you will take damage over time. There are multiple upgrades you can get to help with hunger (upgrades will be discussed later).
Health: Health is... health. Once out of it you will die. Health will slowly regenerate on its own however there's an upgrade that heals you whenever you eat food.
Sanity: Sanity doesn't have its own bar but it exists. When sanity is low you will hear whispers and eventually a loud constant sound and your view will start to distort. To gain sanity you must either sleep or be in an enclosed base where staff can't get you. Other than playing loud sounds and distorting your view, sanity has no effect.
XP: Whenever you scrap an object, kill a staff member, pick up a recipe, break a drone, trade, or go through an area door you will recieve a varying amount of xp. XP can be spent on upgrades. More on that later.

---Staff---
Staff are the main enemies of the game. They spawn on a morning and increase in numbers as the days go on (up to a maximum of 30 staff on the map at once). They are only aggressive during the night or if you attack them during the day.
Dead staff attract more staff so moving any corpses away from your base is a good idea.
They're not that smart and combat is easy if you know what you're doing but they can hit hard (about a third of your health in one hit). So don't underestimate them especially if there is more than one.
Staff cannot climb over objects so even just putting a pallet on its side will block their path.

---Base---
I discourage making a base on top of things like counters as it removes all of the challenge of the game because staff cannot reach you. I'm also not going to go in depth with base building because you can do that part.
The best furniture item to build with is a bench as it has the most health of all furniture objects and it is pretty long making it great for walls. Coincidentally the next best item is the long brown deck chair found next to the bench.
Of course due to its shape, building on top of a bench is hard.
Any base you make should have a couple of food isles and beds nearby. If you are going to build a base out in the open then consider building your base on a bed isle so you can sleep safely within the bases walls.

---Scrapping & Recipes---
Scrapping is the main way of getting ingredients to craft items. Recipes are just that, recipes to create items, weaponry and traps.
Recipes have infinite uses so finding duplicate blueprints provides no benefits except a small about of xp.

In 0.7.0 scrapping is done by holding CTRL+Left clicking. After waiting a moment the object will disappear and you will recieve items. There will also be a small chance of a recipe dropping which looks like a green glowing light.
In 0.7.0 recipes are gathered mainly by scrapping but also by killing staff which also have a chance to drop them.

In the newer Patreon-only versions, scrapping is done by simply attacking furniture. Once the furniture is destroyed one or more small round "tokens" with a + in will appear on the floor which you can pick up by walking over them.
Attacking furniture with weapons will destroy the furniture faster.
In the newer Patreon-only versions, recipes are gathered by finding blueprints that are scattered along the floor of the map and can be picked up with the E key.

---Weapons---
The best weapons are found in the warehouse rooms along with a flashlight. They can also be crafted if you find each respective recipe.
As of the newest Patreon-only version, weapons must be repaired or they will break permanently.
The most damaging and highest durability weapon is the Fire axe.

---Drones---
Drones will randomly spawn and travel in a straight line until it crashes into the wall. They are quite loud so you'll know if you're near one.
You can attack a drone and it will drop a random item. They are more common during later days [citation needed]
Other than dropping an item, drones do nothing else.

---Settlements & Trading---
Settlements are somewhat rare. They are a good choice when building a base because they may only contain a couple of holes which need patching up.
They also contain human NPCs which you can trade with. This is a good way of getting items that you don't have a recipe for.

---Area Doors---
Area doors are doors that are found randomly along the outer-most walls. When interacted with you will be taken to a new randomly generated area with new NPCs and such.
You cannot go back through doors so if you go through one then your base is gone unless you reload your save.
Staff spawn rate will increase dramatically the first time you go through a door so think hard on if you're prepared.

---Upgrades---
Upgrades can be acquired at the cost of XP. XP has no other use.
You can see which upgrade does which by hovering over it in the upgrades menu (open your inventory and go to the upgrades tab)

---Powerup---
When you kill a staff member there is a small chance that a powerup will drop. These give you temporary boosts.
List of powerups:

Strength: You can carry objects and sprint at the same time
Quick Foot: You move much quicker
Beserk: You deal 4x melee damage
Night Vision: You can see in the dark

---Vehicles---
There are currently 3 vehicles in the game:
Trolley/Shopping cart: Standard trolley which you can put small objects in. Found randomly in the middle of isles.
Flatbed: A big flat vehicle you can put big items on and wheel around. Found in the shelf warehouse room.
(Patreon only currently)Forklift: Requires gas which can be acquired by breaking jerry cans and small gas canisters. Can pick up big items and lower/raise the fork. It also has a light on the front to light your way.
Vehicles can be destroyed by staff however the forklift has a lot of health so using it as a wall isn't a bad idea.

---Modding---
As of 0.7.1 (or something) modding is officially supported. The current free version doesn't support modding but it will soon whenever the next major free update comes out.
This allows you to write your own C# scripts and run them in game which allows endless posibilities. </pretentiousness>
