Hello there,

My name is Jake, and I’m interested in creating a server network for your upcoming title Hytale.

My background
I’ve been in the Minecraft server community for a long while, mostly I’ve tried my own server projects for that, but dropped it due to my losing interest in the game.
But in those years I did build up a lot of Java experience.
Currently, I’m still working on plugins purely for the challenge and trying to improve myself. But I’m also acknowledging the fact that in general, I’m losing interest in that part of the game as well, simply because I’m not interested in the core gameplay itself.
At the moment I’m maintaining a few small projects that are different from each other to keep it fresh and interesting, also currently working as side developer and community manager for the highly praised resource EpicWorldGenerator from minelazz.

I also play a lot of other games franchises like Mario, Zelda, GTA, RDR & AC, which in general gives me a deep knowledge of gaming culture and what people like and don’t like about decisions companies take.

Why I’m interested in Hytale as a business opportunity.
Let's get it out of the door, I was pretty excited when I saw the announcement for this game, it felt like a fresh start for me as a developer and a much-needed switch in general.
I see this game as something that is built for content creators from the start, and the current information about it looks pretty amazing. This is also the reason why I think I’m a good candidate for making a server network for this game, due to the following facts:
I got Java experience in server plugins specifically, its a game me myself am also interested in which gives me more motivation to work on it, and I since I’m a gamer myself I understand what people want from a company(I will elaborate on this in further detail) & I got the time to work on it as I don’t have a busy schedule and have allotted of free hobby time, and your current timeframe for 2021 gives me plenty of room to make something of great quality and effort.

Also, I’m currently in the planning stages of starting my own digital entertainment company, and want to start out with an Hytale server because of promised freedom it gives me
And due to my current position for EpicWorldGenerator, I have a platform of earning money that I can invest in this project.

Currently, I’ve not decided on the company name & server name which I will explain in further detail.

What I think is important to the success of a gaming product and why I haven’t decided on a name.
The reason why I don’t have a name is that I’m making something dependant on another platform, but to know what name fits my server project I first need to get the feel of the game. This is also important for the gameplay and success of the end result, as you can have many idea’s and you can already plan for a server for which the game hasn’t released yet, but the main pitfall is what I think for a lot of other projects are is just because they do that and they’ll end up sticking to it, while it might not be enjoyable at all but they don’t know that because they couldn’t have possibly tested it. To make something of real quality you need to go through a trial and error process to see what fits and what doesn’t. That’s why I’m writing this email is because I really wanna create a good server but that takes time and currently if I keep waiting it feels like wasting time while I can also already take the time and really come up with an amazing concept. Like Shigeru Miyamoto said “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever”, what I wanna take from that is that if I have the time to develop, test & experience something I can change and tweak stuff to come up with the best idea, and thus a name that I find fitting for the server and my company(Although I’m planning on getting a Company name pretty early on).

Also like I said in my background & why I’m a good candidate is that I have experienced other gaming products and developed a kind of sense of what fits and what doesn’t fit in most cases, and I do acknowledge that no game will ever be perfect and that you definitely need testers to get see the perspective of others on your product and take their criticism and to hear what they do like so I can break down further on that.

My plan of approach.
341. So basically the first thing I need to do is literally walk around in the game to get first impressions and note some key factors that I like and think I can do something with. Along with that, I need to get access to the API and modding tools to make myself feel conformable in the Hytale ecosystem.
352. Once I got the first steps done I’ll make a big list of idea’s I wanna incorporate into the project, and then one by one scrutinizes them so I get an end result of a few game modes that I want to work on, on first. While that I’ll also start beginning to brainstorm on names and begin doing the first investments into the project, like buying dedicated servers to work on & the domains.
363. I’ll begin developing on some of the game modes(At first by myself as I’m perfectly capable doing that, along the road I will get other developers alongside it as well)
374. After the game modes are playable I’ll begin getting testers on board to receive criticism early on so I can work on that.
385. If the game modes are set in stone I’ll get builders to work on it as well and some artists for the other aspects needed for the project.
396. At the end stages, I’ll start the progress of developing a website(I’m currently learning a ton on that, as a challenge to broaden my skillset)

Along the way I’ll keep in touch with you the Hytale team, to make sure this goes as smoothly as possible. I’m also open to feedback on how to take it to approach differently.

If you’re interested, but want additional information just mail me back and I’ll get in touch as soon as possible.

Have a nice day!

Yours sincerely,
