>#### What is this place where am I?
>You are inside the AI Dungeon 2 Wiki, specifically inside the "Starting Page and Basic Info" page.

>#### Ok, but what is this AI Dungeon thing?
>AI Dungeon 2 is a text based game where you play alongside an AI that acts as a dungeon master, and **YOU** are the player. Based on what you tell the AI to do, it will generate random (and not so random) stories, where you could roleplay as it was a classic "Dungeons and Dragons" and other similar roleplaying tabletop (or pen and paper) games you usually see on the /tg/ board.

>#### Wait, what is a dungeon master and those roleplaying tabletop (or pen and paper) games?
>Have you ever played an "RPG" (role playing game)? Like Final Fantasy or Dark Souls?
>
>Well, in those games you have the missions, the quests, the lore of the world and the story already set in stone (by the ones that created the game) and you (as the player) have a character to play with in that world, following its rules and trying to complete the game.
>
>Now, a dungeon master would be someone that is in charge of creating those missions, quests, lore of the world, story and rules that **YOU** are gonna play with. This means that each time you play with a dungeonmaster everything could change depending on the whims of said person acting as the dungeonmaster.
>
>This games are usually (but not always) played with people reunited alongside a table (where it gets the "tabletop" name from), inside a house (of one the members playing), and played using dices and pen and paper to keep track of the results (hence the other thing this games are known for). This is all done (usually) without using or playing with computers or online (because it usually erases everything that makes this kind of games, and how they are played, so unique) hence why they are a separated and unique kind of games.

>#### Got it, but if playing with others IRL (in real life) is the point of tabletop games, what would be the point of playing with an AI?
>Good question, here are several reasons.
>
>The potential and the fun of this game is that **you don't have to deal** with real life people while playing, nor have to keep up with the drama that could entail (like the nonsensical whims of the dungeon master). Also, the generated stories are created way faster than any human dungeon master could do, and they are created **in real life time** almost instantly.
>
>Think of it like the difference in playing singleplayer vs multiplayer games, some people prefer the former either because they don't want to deal with people or they simply enjoy the games more while being alone. The games in both cases are engaged and played with a different kind of mindset in mind, and this game acts as one of the best replacements to the kind of feel classic tabletop games offer. Which is to say a lot as it is not that easy to replace the creativity an human has to create interesting stories right off the bat whitout being repetitive (this last bit being the main problem when you clear most videogames), but this game (and its AI) manages to do it anyway because its knowledge is so vast that is very difficult to get it to become repetitive as long as you don't make it generate the same stories and inputing the same actions (and even them the results will vary, a lot).

>#### Ok, I got what kind of game this is, but what can you do in game?
>Short answer: **anything**.
>
>Long answer: the most important and interesting things you can do in this game is that you could potentially roleplay the settings of your dreams, be it living in a fantasy land, tending a farm with your family and living a comfy life, or roleplay as a detective in the crime ridden city of Chicago. **Anything** can be done in this game as long as you have imagination.
>
>Another thing that many are interested in, is that **you can also create stories featuring your waifu**, where either you can talk to her, live comfy lives, or straight out fuck her brains out (literally if you want).
>
>Which leads to one of the greatest (if not the greatest) adventages the AI has over human dungeon masters, and that is its **capacity to create awesome porn stories that can cater to your most /d/egenerate fetishes**. What this means is that the AI is capable of creating good and beliable "ERP" (erotic role playing) stories, without having to deal with the awkwardness that usually comes when you try to "ERP" with other people through the internet or chatrooms.
>
>All the above makes the game not fit in one single genre, it could be a fantasy game, an sci-fi game, a dating simulator, or even a (good) porn game. **Which kind of game it devolves into is entirely up to the player**, and that is one of its greatest strenght.

>#### Cool, pretty amazing actually. But how does it does it? The AI I mean, how does it actually works behind the scenes?
>The AI works off probabilities. You feed it tons and tons and tons (literally GB) of text written by a human and it analyzes them to see what words typically follow what. Then you give it a prompt to start with and it takes off with it.
>
>For instance, if you were to give it **"You live in the United States"** as a prompt, the next two words will probably be **"of America"** because those are what it's seen follow "United States" the most. Every once in a while it's programmed to pick a wildcard so that it doesn't just go off on a predictable path and start looping the most common words over and over again.
>
>The default model of the vanilla base game was trained on 30MB of CYOA (choose your own adventure) texts + what was already in the 1558M model (40GB of general data).

***

>#### Ok, another way of explaining it to a brainlet like myself?
>It's simple:
>
>**YOU** can play the game with the AI to be a knight on a quest to kill a dragon.
>
>You write your actions and the AI writes a story that goes along with the actions.
>
>So it's like playing "D&D" ("Dungeon and Dragons") with yourself.
>
>Now for waifu fucking you can look at the [Custom Prompts Index](https://github.com/VBPXKSMI/Open-CYOAI-Project/wiki/Custom-Prompts-Index) page in this Wiki and see just how much porn you can do with the AI. So you can just fuck and rape things in your game.
>
>The game is possible since the AI was trained by the guys at "OpenAI" (those how created the GPT-2 models) with 40GB of English data scrapped from the internet, and then fine-tuned by the original author with 30MB of CYOA data to make the AI give you a game and not just be a glorified autocomplete machine.

***

>#### Ok, finally got the gist of it. But you mentioned models, data, training, fine-tuning and GPT-2. What the fuck are you talking about?
>You shouldn't even bother understanding this yet, but in the next section you will be shown a briefing of the more technical terms. Read it if you want to know more.
