Later on it simply focuses on whats different in any given loop, which tends to lead to very short chapters. theres quite a few in the 200 word range and a couple double digit sized ones. Everyone besides Sweetie quickly become cardboard cutouts existing only to further whatever wacky plan Sweetie feels like doing whether it advances her quest or not, and no one ever tells her no. "Oh you want to become an alicorn princess? OK." "oh you want to fight everfree monsters? Sure that seems reasonable." "Oh you want to genocide everypony in equestria? Dont be silly- of course we can let you do that." Theres almost zero conflict in the story until you get to a The Immortal Game-esque boss fight. Sweetie Belle winds up so batshit insane that Discord provides the voice of reason. Some loops are obvious filler. It feels like this one probably would have been better if it were about 30 chapters shorter.

So you get fun stuff like all of Equestria turning to dust, except for the mirrors, which remain suspended in empty space, or characters who cast spells by focusing on "the memory of a memory of a rude awakening".

The story starts with a funeral, in which everyone's being sad and all that, as you might expect from a funeral. After that, Twilight starts sending letters to Celestia. Just like with any great unexplained event in fanfics, it's put off on her being the Element of Magic. Twilight's insanity is not something that makes much sense, either. She is dead, which made her different, sure, but I see no reason for her to act like others should accept it easily. She states that she should be feeling guilt for doing some things, yet she casually tells Celestia that she doesn't care, which I wouldn't consider the best course of action.

There are no clear indications of time, either, and the letters further complicate the matter. There is nothing particularly new or interesting about the plot, and the ending is just about as predictable as possible.

It's a casual creepy horror story that is made a bit deeper and a lot less horrific, and thus, much more easy to read. I would call it a watered down horror, but that wouldn't really be fair. It's made for a general audience, and that is what makes it like that. So if you are not a horror fan, but you still find some enjoyment in creepy things, you might want to check it out, as it is very well written.

The writing itself was superb, as always, and I will forever be impressed that this guy didn't really speak English until he started watching the show, but I'm not sure if I can say I enjoyed reading the story. I definitely experienced it and don't regret reading it, but I sort of wish that this was just another one of his usual comedies.

Some later parts felt like they were only included to further explore the dynamics between different characters but they do eventually gain significiance to the plot. The first chapter can throw readers off as it picks up in the middle of a chase scene. This is mostly to show the human protagonist does survive some of the early crap thrown his way in one piece.
