Re. Itch policy:

"Copyright is automatic: if someone [is involved creating] something then they automatically own it [...] this is a matter for the people directly involved in the ownership of the content"

To that end I would like to address work over which I have implicit joint copyright being sold/distributed without my consent.

Regarding Shoot to Kill. As it appears you have aready been made aware, "Shoot to Kill" (formerly "Final Cut") is the product of a creative team who have apparently been neither contacted, attributed, or compensated for their work, including significant contributions from ******* *******, ******* ******* (currently employed at *******) and ******* ******* (former game design student at *******).

After the above women were no longer involved on the project I assisted in providing programming and technical direction. Please find linked below source code I have written for Shoot to Kill as demonstrative proof that my work is contained therein.

As you know, Veve profited in excess of $2000 on this work in their recent fundraiser on itch, with no effort made to obtain the consent of other parties who contributed, and without attribution provided for their included work (including art, music, and code).

As a joint owner in part of the content, I do not consent to Veve having sold, or continuing to sell this work, and ask that it be removed from Itch.io.

Regarding The Night of the Hunter the Game. Night of the Hunter is a game for which Veve provided art and direction, to which I provided code, and which recieved additional contributions from ******* ******* and ******* *******. As your log will show, it was uploaded in the summer of 2015, followed by an updated version with a high score table developed for exhibition several months later. Originally, this game was uploaded and distributed with the knowledge and consent of those who contributed, configured to pay-what-you-want, under an account with shared credentials. Veve has since added a minimum price to the game, and refused credit or compensation to contributors for any share of sales.

Please find linked below the source code I wrote for The Night of Hunter the Game as demonstrative proof that my work is contained therein.

As a joint owner in part of the content, I do not consent to Veve continuing to sell this work, and ask that it be removed from Itch.io.

Regarding Which Passover Plague Are You?. Which Passover Plague Are You? is a game for which Veve provided writing and art, and which I provided code. The game has additional contribution from ******* ******* and ******* *******. As your log will show, this game was uploaded and distributed with the consent of those who contributed, configured to pay-what-you-want, under an account with shared credentials. Veve has since added a minimum price to the game, and refused credit or compensation to collaborators for any share of sales.

For additional clarity in this matter and complete disclosure, the game was also published to Sub-Q’s (digital) magazine, under an agreement for which all involved parties were properly compensated. [Apr. 25 note: the Sub-Q Version of WPPaY remains available to play online, with credit and attribution provided to those who contributed to the game.]

To confirm, I am not seeking damages for lost income on prior and ongoing sales of these projects, for which I have not myself been informed, credited, or compensated. I do request that these projects immediately stop being sold, since Veve has demonstrated ill-will by failing to inform, credit, or compensate people with whom they have collaborated, including young and marginalized creators. Even though the apparent financial impact of these projects being distributed without consent, attribution, or compensation of Veve's contributors may be relatively insignificant, Veve has used this work to build a platform from which they continue to harass, threaten and extort marginalized members of the international game development community, precipitating events not the least of which include two individual women recently losing their jobs.

Thank you for your time and your attention in this matter.
