[21:19] Vel continuously tapped his finger on the table as he surfed his own mind of specific thoughts and notions.

"Hmmm.."

Despite all of the things that were being brainstormed upon, one subject somewhat stuck out more so than everything else.

Rift Magic.

The Kitsune's hand reached into the insides of his coat, revealing a dark-bordered tome. This book was nothing but the one gifted to him by his Uncle, Malentine.. Of course, to make things.. Easier to understand.

This book was placed atop of the table and its pages were flipped as the Invidia studied it thoroughly.
(Vel Invidia)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[21:42] Koume found a seat beside Vel, and settle down quietly beside him. She reached up to pluck her wide-brimmed, fluffy hat from its perch atop her bed of golden curls, then set it atop the length of wood that definitely wasn't a bar. Nope. Pale palms smoothed out frilly cloth draped over soft thighs.

The prodigal Bavmor, still a prisoner, something she grew more and more disgusted with by the day, spurring her on to ween herself off of that blood she craved. It wasn't easy. Probably the hardest thing she'd forced upon herself to this day, but it was... slowly, haltingly, stumbling-- but progressing. Every feeding was followed by days, weeks of avoidance. Making sure to keep Karias Van Landerge's schedule close to heart, so that she could slip into the crevices of Baukdengrad and avoid the blood for as long as she could.

Dark circles lay beneath her eyes, and she twitched every now and again. Bit otherwise, Koume looked to be the perfect image of calm serenity. She'd resolved to power through, and so she would.

The blonde bent at the hip to look over at what Vel was reading, not thinking much of it. Hopefully he didn't slam it shut.
(Koume Bavmor)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[21:54]
{LOAD GAME}

[22:06] The Invidia continued to read the book, he did not mind that Koume was looking, in fact, he slightly adjusted the tome to face her, specifically for the sake of making things more comfortable and less awkward. If she continued to look towards it, she would see complex models of basic Riftmancy along with descriptions to assist.

Besides, Vel doubt if the Bavmor would distract him too much considering how she normally acted.

"Humm.. I still don't understand.. "

His ears slightly twitched and his tail swayed noticeably as his eyes curiously glared at the words on the tome.

" They expect me to tear into the lifestream.. To rip through it and create an opening myself..

But how in the -hell- am I supposed to do that..?! There have to be something I am missing.. "

After turning a few more pages, forward and backwards, his eyes settled on the Bavmor. Despite how peaceful and calm she looked, there was something that just didn't sit well with Vel.. He understood that she was a prisoner but..

"Koume.. Have you been sleeping? "
(Vel Invidia)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[22:36] She scooched a bit closer, enough to get a good look at the page opened to her. What may have come off as incredibly complex to him was... well, a little simpler for her. Koume had, for the majority of her life, studied the metaphysical forces of time, gravity, and the will required for holy magic. That's all it was, really.

Knowledge of space and time. How to bend it to your will, or rather, manipulate the already existing forces in such a way that they perform the desired outcome. More out of instinct than anything, she pointed to a section that described the "fabric" of it all, how the lifestream wove through, and began to speak.

"Here. The thing about... riftmancy, from what I've heard from Leland-- that's the Chieftain of the Cruxati if you weren't aware. Or, he was. I'm not sure how things have progressed since I've been up here..

The thing about it, is, people see the lifestream as an intangible thing that just exists, and reality as something separate. Distance, also speed, is simply the time it takes to move between two points in space, and so if you can learn to manipulate both-- Okay, let me just show you."

Having a difficult time explaining, Koume reached into the satchel at her hip, and pulled a piece of parchment out, as well as a writing utensil. Featherquill pen. She set it out across the counter, cleared her throat daintily, then set the inky tip against crisp parchment.

The methodical woman drew a perfectly straight line between two points, then gestured to the paper.

"Now, that took two about five seconds. I drew very slowly, but assume it was the fastest possible way to do so. The paper, let's say, is the lifestream. Riftmancy is simply..." she paused, and folded the paper in half, then poked thepen through both points she'd drawn. "Doing that."
(Koume Bavmor)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[22:37] Koume completely ignored the sleep question.
(Koume Bavmor)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[22:57] A sigh escaped the Kitsune as the frustration started to finally get to him. However, this feeling was ultimately relieved once Koume started to help him understand.

"Wh-W- "

He was almost speechless for a second, but he nodded to her before listening and focusing himself to every words that was spoken. Vel knew that the Bavmor was filled with information but who knew that she was THIS helpful?!

There was an obvious growing smile on the Invidia's face.

"Leland.. Mm.. I've heard of his ability to do so..

But-

I think I understand now.. At first, I was so focused on breaking through the border of impossibility by forcing the line from that point to the next as quickly as possible..

At impracticable speeds.. "

The explanation was damn near flawless.. It was exactly what Vel needed to hear to progress through the book. Curious eyes shifted towards Koume once more..

What else did she know? What else was she capable of?

Those questions were something that could hopefully be answered later.. for now, he would continue to search the book for more information.

"I see.. I see.. Thank you, Koume.. I hope that you can continue to guide me when I need it.."

His finger sat and trailed against the page.

"Visions.. Pictures..

Hmm..

A perfect image is required.. I guess that makes sense.. How else would you know where is it you're going.. Traveling with such methods blinded could very well lead to death.."

The air was filled with nothing but the sound of flipping pages before being broken once more by the Invidia's voice. Colorless eyes staring directly at the Bavmor.

"By the way, Koume.

You look ill, are you okay? "
(Vel Invidia)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[23:24] "A perfect imagine, or a space you know every inch of, like a room in your home, or a place you used to play as a child," she offered, an absent, drowsy look stretched across cherubic features. Full lashes fluttered over golden irises, and the blonde swayed in her seat momentarily.

Gravity shaking her out of that malaise, nearly slipping out of her seat, Koume cleared her throat and straightened promptly. She left the props out on the table, not really needing the pen or paper, and instead turned in her seat to point her knees Vel's way.

"I'm fine. It's just, sometimes I'm up at night. All night."

She didn't elaborate as to why.

Slim shoulders rolled back, the Bavmor, styled Landerge soon enough, though not by choice, reached over to press plush fingertips along the corner of one page. She glanced to make sure Vel was finished, before turning it herself, scanning it with her eyes. A lot of it was... well, it was very informational. A veritable treatise on the depraved art. One she found disgusting and immoral, but one she had considered learning in the past due to sheer alignment with her skillset and the way everything seemed to pan out.

"Where did you get this? Did you say?"
(Koume Bavmor)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[23:35] His eyes lifted from the book to set themselves at the wall straight ahead. There was an odd moment of silence before the Kitsune finally spoke.

"I did say, mhm.

I can see you aren't doing as well as you should.. Chahaa.

Anyways-

I received this book from my Uncle.. Malentine Invidia, who is an Artisan of Riftmancy right now. He taught classes and lessons, which I obviously participated in.. But- I was the only one to get this book.. I can tell he really wants me to learn it, to pass down such a valuable asset.."

The thick, strange silence made its way into the room once more..Yet, Vel continued to breach through it after a few seconds.

"I feel.. I feel he is doing this for a reason. Whatever that reason to be, I trust in his intentions.. He is an idol of mines after all.

I've been thinking.. Maybe it has something to do with this war..or maybe something deeper?

As much as I don't want to say it..I feel his life is at risk."

Vel's hand fell flat onto the table, fingers gently and slowly pelting themselves against the wooden surface.

"Forgive me for my blattering. You say that you stay up all night, sometimes?

Do you have trouble sleeping? "

His arms folded against his chest just as he shifted in his seat, facing his body towards the Bavmor.

" There are potions for such occasions if I am not wrong.. Or if you wish, I could tell you a bedtime story, chahaaa."

The Invidia quipped.
(Vel Invidia)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[23:49] Rather than answer, Koume tipped in a bit further to examine the next page. Apparently the Kitsune had said, and she was simply spacing out. Again. It had gotten more and more difficult to focus without the blood. Not because it helped her see clearly, or understand, but that it occupied such a glaringly large space in her mind. It was difficult to focus on anything else.

"War is a failure," the blonde muttered absently, examining one portion of the page that emphasized the importance of re-reading certain chapters, of which she gestured to in case Vel hadn't seen. The line of thought she'd began flowed back, then. "And all involved are stricken with some semblance of fear, no matter who they are. Vampire, Demon, Human, what have you."

Though, someone like Malentine-- who she'd heard had performed a number of rather ridiculous deeds throughout his unlife, was bound to understand they'd catch up to him eventually. Maybe that was what Vel was referring to.

"There are potions for it, Vel. But, you forget, I'm still collared. I can't go anywhere to retrieve what I need. Actually, I've been meaning to ask...

I'd like to go out again. Into the world, very soon. Just the two of us. To gather, and talk, and sight see. You can show me a few things, and I can show you."
(Koume Bavmor)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[00:00] Hearing Koume's last statement caused the Invidia to gently slide the book more towards his way before ultimately shutting it. He had enough studying for now.. After all, he gained a GOOD amount of information this time, thanks to the Bavmor.

"I believe that's enough for learning Rift for now..

For today."

A sigh left the Kitsune as he lifted himself from the chair to do a small, quick stretch.

"Again, I thank you for the help today.. I probably would've been stuck on the first step for a while if it wasn't for you, chahaaa. "

The same colorless eyes from before veered over to her figure.

"Hmf.. Aside from being busy, I've been doing many different things within Baukdengrad, including dealing with the 'internal conflict' we have..

However.. I'll be willing to soon make time for you and go out there..

I'm surprised though-

At first, all I was ever able to get was a cold feeling from you.. Does this mean you are warming up to me, hm? "

Vel latched his hands on the treasured tome and returned it within his coat, safe and sound!
(Vel Invidia)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[00:02] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
[00:05] Koume stood from her seat, briefly settling a palm on Vel's shoulder. A gentle squeeze was all the answer he got to that last question, her face still set in that porcelain mask of stoicism.
(Koume Bavmor)
