1Before I get into the next few days of the route, I just wanted to quickly take stock of the current situation and all the factors that are in play since this route is feels a lot more busy compared to the last two. Alright so:

3There are multiple things in play right now - first off, Shirou is no longer a Master as the mysterious shadow engulfed Saber at the Temple, but I'm 95% sure we haven't seen the last of her. Shirou has also now made the decision to protect Sakura, who has the dangerous threat of the crest worm within her that can drive her to seek out magic in order to satiate it, and is slowly killing her. Sakura has been revealed to be Rider's Master, but the presence of the worm within her is a serious hindrance to using Rider to fight, as that would drain her magic and make her situation worse. So we have 1.5 Masters and a Servant that's at probably 25% effectiveness with the predicament her Master is in. It's quite a weak team that has a pile of issues to deal with - Zouken is the biggest immediate threat because he controls the crest worm and thus can make Sakura his tool as he pleases. His Servant is also no joke as it is very crafty. Then we have Rin, who considers Sakura her enemy in her current state, and whom is prepared to fight as a Master. Rin is a strong magus in her own right, and Archer is no slouch either. There's also Illya, who said she will be Shirou's ally, but I don't see that extending to Sakura as well since she is a Master that must be defeated for Illya to win the war. Berserker is an immense threat, and there's also that dress called "Heaven's Feel" that we saw passing mention of and that is yet to come in to play. Kirei and Gilgamesh are still lurking in the shadows and will probably make their move when it benefits them the most, and speaking of shadows there is that one that's been draining the life force of people haphazardly around the city. Oh and I guess that trashbag Shinji is still around, no telling what crazy shit he will do in his desperation. So we have Shirou in possibly one of the weakest positions he's been in with no Servant and having to care for a Master who is severely limited as well, faced with the most stacked up list of threats that we've seen so far. With so many factors in play right now I seriously don't envy him trying to figure out what to do now. Time to find out!

13- Shirou's unnaturally tired after the little...exercise he had last night, and feels awkward and embarrassed to see Sakura at breakfast. She's awkward as well, but they get past it relatively quickly. The thing that's troubling now is the presence of Rider, who Shirou feels like he can't get along with

15- Shirou's troubled by her, but Sakura tries to put them both at ease with each other. Since Sakura is trying to be considerate, I decide to try and make friends by saying that Shirou likes Rider. She is pretty strong and is faithful in protecting her Master, qualities that Shirou can respect. The dummy says a bit too much in praising her though and makes Sakura jealous...and then when he tries to backpedal Rider gets a bit irritated at being compared against Sakura. Now they both are interested in how he truly feels about them. Um...please don't mind the idiot in front of you ladies, lets not make this a love triangle with the stakes so high >.>

17- After a little stressful stare down with the two ladies it's time to plan what to do. No more school until the war ends, and right now it's dangerous for Sakura to go outside when she could collapse at any time and with Zouken still a threat to take control of her. Still, Shirou wants to continue fighting in this war and obtain the Holy Grail to cure Sakura. She's terrified of fighting though, and also doesn't want Shirou to get hurt because of her. Good luck talking him out of it, Shirou is stubborn as a mule when his mind is set to do something

19- Before Shirou commences with planning their course of action, he tries to solve something else he's been troubled by - Rider's blindfold. He's just trying to be considerate and have her be comfortable, but Sakura quickly shuts down his line of thought. Even though she won't use her Mystic eyes to purposefully petrify him now, Sakura is still concerned about their 'other uses'. Which, granted that Rider has been revealed to be Medusa, one can imagine that her eyes are very bewitching. Sakura's not about to let someone seduce her man!

21- On to planning. Shirou's biggest concern right now is Zouken, and he figures that their best chance of dealing with that monster is him cooperating with another Master, specifically Illya. Yay, I wanted fight together with her! While she may not ally with them, Shirou thinks he can convince her to focus on Zouken right now, and plans to go to her castle to speak with her. Sakura and Rider are to remain at his house and run if any enemy approaches. Well, it's not a safe plan but I like the sounds of it! Plus it's a good start to dealing with two of the factors I laid out above.

23- Besides, Shirou is also worried about Illya facing all this on her own, especially when facing a monster like Zouken who will do anything to win. Be careful Shirou, you are walking along the edge of a cliff mentioning more girls that you care for around Sakura. However this is a great opportunity to interact with the sweet imouto Illya and maybe gain some insight into more about her family history, it's goals and what exactly Heaven's Feel is. Full steam ahead I say!

25- Despite Sakura's reservations about his safety, Shirou makes preparations and leaves the house. Before he can set off he is confronted outside by Rider, who wants to know why he wants to protect Sakura. Simple my dear, he loves her and wants to make her happy to atone for all the suffering she's been through. She seems to accept his answer, and in response he asks a request of her - to try and pronounce his name differently since the way she does currently sounds just like Saber. Ah, that wound is still fresh for him

27- Sakura is left alone once again, depressed by the fact that the one who is not even a Master is fighting while she rests. As long as he fights he is in real danger of dying, which is why she wants him to return to a normal life and live. But at the same time she is happy he is fighting and getting hurt for her sake, and she acknowledges that dark desire of hers to see him make up for all the times he did not save her. Thinking those thoughts makes the worm within her stir and stimulate her body, heating it up. What Zouken has done to her over the years has really turned her into a deviant mess :(

29- She is pretty much resigned to the fact that she is dying, and orders Rider to go and protect Shirou. Rider accepts her Master's command, but feels ill portents on the horizon and feels like she will have to make use of her Noble Phantasm. She also warns Sakura that she feels Kirei is a bigger threat to be on guard against than Zouken. Sakura agrees, but almost offhandedly dismisses his chances of beating her. Well at the rate she's going she is going to die before she gets to put that confidence to the test :/

31- Meanwhile Shirou is wandering through the forest, relying only on the memory of the path to reach her castle Illya showed him in the park a few days ago. After a few hours he gets an ominous feeling that something isn't right, and as the source draws closer he readies himself only to be confronted by...Rin. This is bad if she still sees him as an enemy :(

33- Thankfully Rin lowers her guard and wants to talk first, and Shirou gets straight to asking if she is planning to fight Illya. Not one little white hair on her head is to be harmed, you hear? Rin suggests that that might be her goal, which Shirou is opposed to since a fight will leave at least one of the girls hurt. His goal is still to stop the battles of the War as she knows, and she finds that stubbornness of his endearing. Heh, nice to have the quick-witted teasing Rin back.

35- Shirou doesn't want to bring her along, but Rin naturally beguiles her way into following him. Their goals aren't completely unaligned at least - she too came to warn Illya about Zouken, but is ready to fight as she knows Illya probably wouldn't just let her be. But the chances of coming to a peaceful resolution with Illya via Shirou are higher, so she agrees to work together with him for now.

37- Before they can set out together the forest shakes as if by an earthquake, and the booming sounds of battle begin in the distance. Sounds like Berserker is engaged with something. Question is, is it Zouken, the shadow creature or Rider? Rin goes to check it out, and I decide to go as well.

39- Meanwhile from Illya's perspective, she had sensed a great threat enter her territory and had prepared her defenses, but as it approached the castle even Berserker, who should have no sanity, echoed the thought that they should run. The two know they will lose if they face that thing, and so she fled the castle with her Servant for fear of losing him

41- In the forest they run into Zouken and Assassin, who applauds her for coming out of her fortress knowing she could not win. Is he in cahoots with the shadow that Illya fears, or did he merely take advantage of it's presence to draw Illya out of the safety of her castle and into his trap? Either way Zouken is quite the cunning foe, and one who Illya notes wasn't chosen by the Holy Grail yet still acts like a Master.

43- Zouken laughs at her choice of words, because of the truth of the Holy Grail that was touched on by Gilgamesh in UBW - it is merely something to be filled, and the Masters are not chosen but instead prepared as a part of that ritual with the Servants used as tool to open the 'gate to hell'. Illya does correct him on one point - the Holy Grail that becomes the container has no will, but the Great Holy Grail that chooses Masters does

45- She's not concerned with Zouken plans as she believes he will fail anyways, although she does not like having 'vessels' besides herself. This was something alluded to in Zouken's discussion of his plans all the way back at the start of the war - the 'thing' that was perfectly created after a lot of work. It has the content of the Holy Grail planted within it so it has become a cellular tool that has been contaminated by the Grail for the past ten years. He said that as such it should reach the Holy Grail if it makes no mistake in the procedure. With Illya's words I am confident that the 'thing' refers to a vessel for the Grail, and the description matches that of Sakura. Scheming bastard

47- Although she dismisses him, he is here to take her body as insurance for achieving his wish of immortality. She is sickened by his wish to prolong his life, by his immense greed to achieve immortality even if it costs the whole world to do so. Illya responds in a voice that's not her own - she is surprised at how much he has lost his way, he should recall where their desire for a miracle came from, why they are particular about having human form and why they are trying to reach the inhuman place while keeping that human form. Some sort of abstract way of reminding him of the original goal of families, which has been ingrained in her by her ancestors. Zouken is not amused, and begins their battle, with Berserker charging as Zouken's shadow creeps forward...

49- Sounds of wind as Shirou and co rush towards the battle. Wind...Saber...? As they reach the battle they see three Servants fighting - Berserker, Assassin, and...a black armor clad female warrior that looks like Saber. Shirou's going to be real triggered after having seeing her in this state. Her getting consumed by that shadow was definitely a terrible blow. Berserker is getting torn apart by her attacks and engulfed by the shadow pooling at his feet, to the distress of Illya. [Hello Alter](http://i.imgur.com/OHRx60I.png)

51- Confident in his victory, Zouken turns hazy and disappears from the forest, leaving his Servants to capture Illya once Berserker is consumed. In a desperate move, Berserker tears apart his own body to free himself of the shadow's grip and charges at the black swordsman, who goes to meet his attack with a powerful attack of her own. Illya desperately tries to run towards him to stop him, but seeing that, Shirou runs to grab her and stop her from going into the shadow on the ground, and they get bathed in the light of a huge explosion. Excalibur...

53- Something within Shirou resonates when he sees Saber's Noble Phantasm, and for an instant he becomes entranced by the sword's beauty. That's right, he still has Avalon within him! That could be key in dealing with this corrupted Saber. Also his fascination with her sword hints at projection for me. For now though, all he can do is lay there protecting Illya while Saber stands above him with sword at ready. Berserker is being engulfed by the shadow after taking her attack, and all his desperate charge managed to do is break her mask. [Those golden eyes...](http://i.imgur.com/9tQHeaC.png)

55- Faced by his former Servant, Shirou is determined to save Illya, and Rin and Archer thankfully provide him some backup to escape from the threatening position. But the distraction is short-lived, as Saber knocks Archer away and confronts Shirou and Illya once again. Shirou tries to do the noble yet suicidal move of letting Illya get away while confronting Saber. Sigh, facing Saber in a fight like this is certain death man! He's so goddamn lucky that Assassin calls her back before her blade cuts through his neck. Thank god for his injured pride at not killing Shirou last time!

57- Shirou takes Illya and runs from Assassin and the shadowy manifestation, with Rin leading the way and Archer protecting them from Assassins attacks from the rear. Archer even gets the upper hand and breaks Assassin's white mask whilst they battle amidst the retreat, forcing Assassin to flee to save his life. Thankfully Assassin's power in a straight up battle is quite weak!

59- Rin stupidly makes the mistake of assuming the battle is over with Assassin's retreat, and the shadow attacks her from behind with black tentacles. Archer pushes her out of the way...and gets impaled himself. Although his wound does not look bad, Shirou understands that it is the end for him, that the shadow kills Servants and cannot be beaten by them. Fuck fuck fuck FUCK! Worst time to make the overconfidence mistake Rin! Now that shadow has not one but THREE Servants that it will have corrupted?!

61- [Uhoh](http://i.imgur.com/jp0fGRP.png) Archer tells them to run as the shadow begins to expand as it sucks in the surrounding magic energy. As Shirou realizes it's about to burst and Archer pulls out the tentacle to run towards Rin, I decide to protect Illya. The wave of magic energy washes over him and engulfs him in darkness, and his left arm vanishes. OH THAT'S JUST GREAT! But the rest of him is still there, and as the shadow fades away, he sees that Illya is safe, while the gravely wounded Archer is talking with...Rider. Did she drive the thing away?

63- The dying Archer is telling Rider he will cut his arm off and transplant it onto Shirou, something their connection uniquely allows him to do. After all they are the same person, but I'm surprised and pleased that this Archer is willing to save the one whom his existence was dedicated to killing. As Shirou fades into unconsciousness he hears Archer give his farewells to Rin in a voice just like his

65- Meanwhile back in the Emiya household, Sakura, who has been sharing vision with her Servant, sees the scene of the shadow exploding and Shirou's left arm being taken. That's bad. She immediately cuts off the shared vision and vomits in the bathroom. And she stands there feeling guilt and self-loathing, she hates herself for ever thinking that Shirou being injured enough to not go outside would keep him out of danger. Now he has a life-threatening injury, and she hates that she ever thought losing a part of one's body was a good thing.

67- After puking her guts out Sakura feels less nauseous, and tries to calm down. Then she lets the thought wriggle into her mind that at least Senpai can't fight anymore, and the mirror reflects her face with it's crooked smile. FUUUCK this inner darkness of hers just has to keep surfacing D: Ugh it sucks to see her so unstable and giving in to her dark desires. She's going to be in for a rude awakening if the arm transplant is a success...I'm afraid she might go berserk when Shirou comes back still willing to fight

69- All Shirou can feel is the heat from his shoulder, from the hole that the shadow left there. Then he feels flesh that is not his own there, and knowledge that is not his flows into him. He understands he must manage this skill of projection that is flowing into him, but does not feel he has the power to handle it. Then he wakes up in the back room of Kirei's church, with Illya at his side. Poor thing must have been so worried, as she gives him a big ol' hug :3

71- Pain quickly assaults Shirou from his left arm, and he has to focus within himself to create a barrier to keep the foreign substance at bay. He then notices his whole body other than his right arm is restrained to the table. Kirei taking no chances I see. Speaking of the devil, he comes to unrestrain Shirou and explain his situation, and Shirou finally notices that the left arm is not his. It was transplanted from the dying Archer and has connected to his Magic Circuit, effectively becoming a part of his body. [Handy!](http://i.imgur.com/iEkq9Km.png)

73- Kirei and Illya know that Shirou surviving and successfully integrating Archer's arm is a special case, they've definitely figured out the bond between the two of them. Still, the arm will take a few days to fully familiarize with Shirou's body, and Kirei warns him that the arm of a heroic spirit is a weapon that will swallow him if he uses it even once. The red cloth that covers it is a seal meant to prevent the Magic Circuit within from activating, but it cannot completely suppress his arm. Shirou will have to become a great enough magus to match the arm or he will be consumed by it in ten years. Better than dying in that forest though!

75- Well Kirei has certainly been helpful this whole time. With three of the Masters now without Servants, it's down to Rider and Gilgamesh to be able to oppose Zouken and the shadow. I'm desperate enough to want Kirei to join the fight at this point, the odds continue to get stacked against Shirou. Kirei does point out Shirou is free to try to use Archer's power at any time but does not guarantee his survival, and you know I'm totally okay with him using even if it leads to a bad end. Looking forward to seeing it play out!

77- They meet with Rin in the chapel, then Kirei asks what they plan to do with the Holy Grail War practically decided. With only Zouken and Sakura left with Servants, Zouken is almost assured victory as Sakura cannot face him. But like Shirou, Rin is not ready to give up yet. She also wants to save her sister. Well losing Archer came with the unexpected benefit of becoming allies with Rin again, even though it came at the cost of a drastic reduction in their fighting power.

79- There's still the matter of Illya, who initially turns down Shirou's offer of coming to stay at his place because Sakura is there. She wants to go back to her castle, but she will surely be captured by Zouken if she does so. Rin deploys her mastery of arguing to guilt-trip Illya with the accusations that she thinks Shirou is unreliable and hates him, and quickly gets Illya to agree to go to his place. God I love how Rin knows exactly what things to say to get a desired response

81- Kirei once again leaves Shirou with the warning that his body is in no condition to fight, so fighting to save Sakura would be a death sentence. He questions if Sakura is worth the cost of Shirou's life. His cryptic advice is annoying, but I've come to expect it from him since he's playing as many angles as he can for his own benefit, especially with a Servant of his own still.

83- Back outside, gets straight to the point with her willingness to cooperate again. The she makes the ridiculous claim that since his left arm was her Servant's that makes Shirou her Servant now. Illya butts in to refute Rin's claim of ownership, only to counter with her own claim. Uhm...Shirou sure is lucky to have so many girls fighting over him, but at the same time he's being treated like a pet >.> Rin and Illya go back and forth arguing until they both demand Shirou to make the choice of who gets to order him around. I'd rather not get ordered around at all...

85- Well Rin had her time to shine back in UBW, so it's Illya's turn now. Thus I decide to be her Servant, much to her delight and Rin's anger. Illya even hits Rin with some banter to give her a taste of her own medicine. [Ohohoho get rekt!](http://i.imgur.com/lrbLGwb.png)

87- Shirou is still willing to let Rin be the brains of the operation though, and feels responsible for carrying out what Archer cannot. Rin and Illya head to the Tohsaka household to see if they can scrounge up a secret weapon or two to aid in their fight, including something Rin calls the Tohsaka inheritance - Kischur's keepsake. Illya expresses interest in something called Zel Schweinorg's treasure chest. I hope we get to see what these magical weapons are!

89- Back in the church, Gilgamesh asks Kirei if it was okay to just let the Holy Grail (Illya) go like that. Kirei has no wish he wants granted so he has no problem with the Grail siding with those Masters, he is merely seeking pleasure for fun. He thinks back to his past, when he did have a wish. He grew up to realize he only found happiness in the suffering of others, and tried to save himself by becoming a normal person - even becoming a priest so that God could forgive him. But he found no salvation and was only left to question why he had his deficiency. So now he does not seek answers, but instead to create something with the Grail that gives the answer. Very cryptic...and it also doesn't sound good

91- On the way home Shirou's new arm is causing him pain, as if it's generating excess heat by movement and releasing it into his body. He has to take some time to calm himself before showing himself before Sakura, who is downcast when he gets back. He tries to bluff that his wrapped arm is fine, but she knows what happened and tells him off for lying to her. Don't make things worse by trying to look tough in front of the girl whose been worrying about you all day mate, gotta be more considerate than that!

93- Sakura's immediately guilty about her outburst, and Shirou expresses remorse at trying to fool her as well as his failure to do what he set out to today. Sakura's just happy he kept his promise to return home though! Then Rin arrives with Illya to snap them out of their little lovey-dovey moment

95- Sakura isn't happy that they are here, but accepts that Rin is willing to ally with them to fight Zouken and that Shirou owes Rin for saving his life. She's less happy that Rin intends to train Shirou, and completely cold towards Illya, who gives her a frigid greeting. Looks like there's bad blood with those two...

97- Dinner goes by in a flash, Rin and Illya head to their rooms, Sakura has another momentary fainting episode before heading off to bed, and Shirou is left alone after this whirlwind of a day. He contemplates the wall that is between the two sisters, and how there might still be hope to tear that down. I really hope so, I'd love nothing more than to have this end with those two able to be normal sisters again.

99- Shirou's new arm is turning out to be a real pain, as he wakes up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat and feeling hot. When he goes outside to cool off it gives him another jolt of pain, and he feels the Shroud is constricting his arm and could be the source of his pain. When he flirts with the idea of nothing being wrong with his arm and the cloth is just making it stiff, I decide to release his arm from the Shroud because fuck it, I want to see what happens when it isn't restricted.

101- Obviously Shirou's senses feel broken and he witnesses the black arm in disbelief before going blank, then comes to a few seconds later. Well he's certain now that Kirei spoke the truth that he would die if he releases the arm's power. He tries to take his mind off the arm by thinking about defeating Zouken, but even that makes him despair as he realizes how bleak the situation is. That shadow along with Alter Saber makes their chances of victory pretty much zero.

103- Rider comes by, which snap Shirou out of his funk. They talk about her saving him in the forest as per Sakura's order, and the bond that Rider feels with Sakura. Her affection for Sakura and willingness to protect her as long as she remains a Master surprises Shirou. Then she in turn asks Shirou if he knows what Sakura endured as part of the Makiri family, and he can only say that he does not.

105- Rider is content with the answer and lets him know that he helped Sakura change and regain emotions that she had lost ever since she resigned herself to her fate. He said he would make her happy, but for her having him be alive and by her side makes her happy. So to fight and risk his life threatens that happiness, but he swore to save her so not fighting would make him a nobody. Rider questions if he will be on Sakura's side no matter what happens, but he knows he does not have the answer because everything is telling him his wish to provide Sakura happiness is an illusion that can't become reality.

107- Finally to end this longest of days, a nightmare that feels like it's from the point of view of the shadow initially, something womanlike which squashes some men who follow after her in the city. A so called breeding box dream...real disturbing D:

117- Shirou has a nightmare that's reminiscent of Saber's Excalibur - a world bathed in light and wind that pushes him as he tries to go past the source of light. Illya wakes him up and tells him he was in pain and trying to take off the cloth on his arm, and that she came to stop him from killing himself and suppress the pain for him. She did promise to help him when he's in trouble after all. Aww, what a sweetie :3

119- She's also a bit of a tease though, playing with his sudden panic at having a girl watch him in his sleep and how troubling it is for her to put his boyish innocence at risk. He even tumbles backwards and hits his head when she intentionally gets closer to him. Now now Illya, don't become devilish like Rin, one of her is hard enough for poor Shirou to deal with D:

121- Seeing him hurt himself gets Illya to stop the teasing, and he focuses now on getting up to make breakfast. Illya's surprised and happy that he can cook, but her enthusiasm to help dies quickly when she learns Sakura is also going to be making breakfast. Surprisingly she does like Sakura, but can't approve of her because she isn't suited for Shirou, something she says Shirou is trying not to notice.

123- Before she leaves the room, she also warns him of charging ahead recklessly with Archer's magic of projection. He's inherited that power of reproducing any weapon he sees, but using it now would mean certain death. She won't forgive him if he dies like Kiritsugu and leaves her alone before she can kill him. I would never dream of leaving this precious imouto alone, although I certainly hope her mind can be changed on that killing him part D:

125- Ahhh, cooking time again! This time together with Sakura. The two have some small talk while making food, such as Sakura's concern over what Shirou and Illya talked about in the morning. Sakura's concerned that Illya still wants to fight, but Shirou's more concerned that Illya has no goal now, as the one thing she wanted - to meet/kill Kiritsugu - became impossible years ago. He wonders what he can do in place of his father, and proposes to Sakura that they let Illya stay with them if she wants to. She gets very shy when he asks for her approval as his partner, and agrees. Way to win her heart over Shirou!

127- At breakfast, the four Masters see the news report an attack at the park, where the chunks of flesh of 4 people have been found along with a lot of blood. Correlates with the breeding box dream at the end of last night. Rin deduces it's the work of the shadow due to the black spots on the grass, but Shirou finds it odd as this is the first time it has directly killed people instead of just sucking up their magical energy.

129- Rin concludes that the shadow must have been doing this on it's own as Zouken would never leave evidence behind. Is the shadow getting hungry enough that it's doing things without Zouken's approval? If it starts going on an indiscriminate rampage who knows if it could be stopped...

131- After breakfast Rin takes Shirou to the dojo to tamper with his body and make him a stronger asset in battle, but to her displeasure the other two girls come along as well. They each don't trust Rin and want to protect him if needed. Ugh...this group dynamic could become as messy as your typical harem anime u_u

133- Before Rin can begin, Shirou brings up the question that they have been avoiding since last night - what their future course of action should be. Illya doesn't want to start fights on her own, and Sakura doesn't want to fight as well. Shirou thus decides the two of them should stay in the house with Rider and be on the defense against Zouken, while he and Rin will be on the attack vs Zouken and the shadow, which includes patrolling the town at night again

135- Ho boy. Sakura goes on an angry rant again when Shirou says he intends to fight. She's shocked he would still want to fight after losing one of his arms and not being able to use his new one yet, and upset because she thought he wouldn't fight with only one usable arm. Shirou has to reassure her that he's fighting to make her win the War, so that they can use the Grail to remove the crest worm. She backs down hearing that he is doing it for her sake and that he promises to come back and fulfill his promise to protect her.

137- Rin confirms the course of action they've come up with, and also tells Sakura off for being submissive and unwilling to fight. She reminds her that Zouken can't be the winner as long as Rider still exists, so Sakura needs to be ready to fight here, and if Zouken attacks she needs to get away at any cost. As long as Rider isn't defeated, the Grail won't be completed and Sakura has a chance of being saved. Good of you to act the older sister Rin

139- With their plans determined, it's time for the main task at hand - Rin wants Shirou to get naked in the dojo so she can get a good idea of what type of body he has. Shirou and Sakura are aghast at her request, but can't deny that it's the correct choice to comply with her. Shirou gets the shirt off and prepares to let Rin touch him to place a warding sign on him, all the while being subjected to the frigid stare of Sakura.

141- Rin's goal is to suppress magical energy within him - his body is unstable with Archer's arm so she wants to make sure it won't be connected to him unless he wants it to be, and the shadow sucks up magic just by being there so she's giving him a sign with resistance to magical energy.

143- After getting utterly embarrassed while Rin touches his upper body to implant her magic, Sakura does the ridiculous thing of asking for confirmation if she and Shirou made love. Ughhh she's sulking so much that Shirou lost his composure with Rin when he already has her as his lover. The jealousy is rampant with three girls in this house, poor Shirou is going to die from stress.

145- Lunch time, and Sakura and Rin are cooking mapo tofu together because neither backed down with their desire to prepare lunch. Illya thinks it was a bad idea to have 'enemies' make lunch together, but with a little observation and Shirou's insight she realizes that the two sisters want to get along but are just too embarrassed to start talking

147- Shirou decides to give them a prod in the right direction by pulling Sakura aside and telling her to call Rin Nee-san like she does when talking with Shirou. Sakura is reserved since she thinks Rin would be bothered by it, and because she thinks Rin is disappointed in having such a failure of a little sister, but Shirou reprimands her for bringing in other things into a sister's relationship. There's nothing more important than the mutual love between them. Family trumps all

149- Sakura agrees to give it a shot, and awkwardly starts calling Rin Nee-san when she comes back to continue cooking. Rin then feels awkward, and goes typical tsundere in saying she has nothing against it and acting like it can't be helped. Score! Even though they end up messing up their joint cooking more frequently than before and lunch ends up a disaster, the two sisters are happy.

151- After lunch Shirou has some free time to rest. Rin and Illya go off to prepare some defenses vs Zouken and Sakura goes off to rest after feeling dizzy. I decide to go find Rider since I haven't seen her yet today, and come across her keeping watch over Sakura's room from the shed outside

153- Rider is pretty blunt about him having free time to talk and wonders what his business with her is. Shirou manages to compliment her on her dedication to protecting Sakura, somehow gets her to agree to protecting Illya as well in exchange for him promising to help Rider if she ever is in danger, makes her flustered when pointing out she is tall, and finally elicits a smile from her by greeting her properly for the day. Aww, they're bonding!

155- Rider prods Shirou to go nurse Sakura, so he goes to her room and is allowed in after she gets up. Seems she was resting as she was told to, even though she feels fine and wants to continue with chores. Rin threatened to kill her if she collapsed from overworking...well she cares about her sister in her own way, and Sakura knows that as well.

157- Shirou starts to leave and let her continue resting, but she stops him and requests he remain by her side. Girl you are starting to get real clingy. No need for her to worry so much, Shirou loves her and would do any favor she asks for. So he stays with her longer, although it's nerve-wracking for him because all he can think about is her beauty, which reminds him of their tryst a couple nights back. Thinking with the lower head there Shirou?

159- The spaced out Shirou doesn't hear a word of her concerns that he likes Rin and Illya and her question if he dislikes big breasts. He's a bit horny at the moment. But her unhappiness snaps him back to reality and he turns the discussion to if Sakura is happy to have her sister staying with them. Rin is Sakura's ideal, so being in close proximity to her makes Sakura feel inferior, but she's delighted to be around the sister that has kept watch over her and worried about her. Just...please don't try too hard to become like your sister, one Rin is more than enough for Shirou to deal with already

161- Sakura's worry was that Rin would hate her because unlike Rin's magic, the Matou magic is limited to 'stealing away from others', so it could only feed on other's pain. It's a heretical magic that Sakura is ashamed of, but she couldn't live without it as it was the reason she was adopted into the Matou family. It's just cruel that to become the Matou successor she had to endure so much pain :(

163- Despite her strict training, Sakura says it's nothing like what Shirou has been doing in the shed for his nightly practice. She's fine with getting hurt by others but is scared of hurting herself, and she knows Shirou can do either from the one time she peeked on his training. She knows what he does isn't normal - creating a new Magic Circuit inside him every time he practices strengthening - and is dangerous enough to kill him.

165- She was scared for him, but also proud of his stubborn dedication to do something that could kill him every night despite no one forcing him to and getting nothing out of it. She sees that dedication of his to follow through on something once he's decided to do so as a strength greater than hers or Rin's. Damn she can be a smooth talker! Shirou's smitten by her flattery, but with Rin and Illya in the room next door any shenanigans that he has in mind has to wait until the night.

167- With Shirou staying by her side it's time for her to rest, but as she lays in bed she worries about his arm, and makes the very strange remark that Rin's first aid on it should be wearing out as it should only last seven days. But...Rin just treated it a couple hours ago...Sakura's sense of time is completely distorted. It's got to be a side effect of the worm that's slowly killing her. 169- Meanwhile Shinji is being delusional looking for his sister in their house even though he knows she hasn't been back for a few days. He starts smashing things in her room like he always has - his outlet for displaying his opposition ever since he learned the truth three years ago. His birth heralded the end of the Matou bloodline, but their accumulated knowledge still remained, and he was always proud of being born into a special family.

171- That changed when Sakura was adopted into the family. At first he thought nothing of her as she was silent and ordinary, and he was confident that he was still the Matou heir. But his pride was shattered when he found the basement room with her being 'trained' by Zouken. His sense of superiority was crushed, and his contempt for Sakura only grew at the pity she showed him. He used her submission and made her obey him in retaliation, but now his 'possession' has been taken by Shirou and regained her hope of being human. Thus he resolves to destroy her hope and reset their relationship. Ho boy incoming crazy

173- Sakura again acts odd at dinner time, remarking that the food tastes strange, when it tastes just fine to everyone else. So her other senses are getting messed with as well? She continues to eat like nothing is wrong and puts the others at ease, but something bad is going on with her right now. That's a problem since she's the only one out of the four of them with a Servant...if her sense of recognition gets messed with then a fight would be on the cards.

175- Time to go patrol with Rin. Sakura worries about the two of them going out when they don't have a Servant and with Shirou not having the use of his left arm, but Rin shoots down her offer of going with them rather harshly. They leave a dejected Sakura at home. I know its safest for her to remain at the house, but it hurts to have to be so strict with her

177- Once they are outside Rin tries to defend her firm approach with her sister, whom she still considers her enemy. She sounds like she's trying to convince herself by saying that to him, and he calls her out on it. He knows she still cares about Sakura and wants her to get along with her sister. He thinks that she is a good big sister, which breaks through her tsun facade and makes her flustered but also happy that he said so. Looks like Shirou is two for two on the day in thawing the ice between the sisters!

179- They go visit the park, the site of the attack they saw on the news this morning. After investigating Rin thinks that the attack might not have been the shadow's doing as the magical energy in the area isn't exhausted, but it still gives her the sense of having just been an unexpected meal for whoever did it. They find no other evidence of activity by Zouken while investigating the city

181- On the way back Shirou asks Rin about Sakura's magic and her strength as a magus. Since Sakura was born with an attribute that was different from that of the Matou family, changing her to be their successor was like forcing a bird to adapt to living in water. Even though she has the same number of Magic Circuits as Rin, she's no stronger than Shirou. Plus the worm is feeding on her magical energy so she has none to spare on using magic now. Rin is far stronger than her at the moment

183- Shirou resolves to continue treating Sakura like he has then and not consider her as a magus, which pleases Rin. She's been watching her sister for a while and has only seen her smile when Shirou is around. That bothers Shirou, hearing that she doesn't smile in front of others gives him a nagging feeling that there's something dangerous about that. All these hints that Sakura is unstable gives the ominous feeling that her having a breakdown is drawing closer and closer

185- They return home, and Shirou thinks about the enemies they are facing while he lays in bed. He can't beat the shadow and Saber as he is right now, but at the same time they can't be ignored with innocent people being killed. Shirou does have a weapon though - Archer's arm - but the question is if he can manage it. Oh boy, he decides to take off the Shroud for a little bit to test his arm. That was an incredibly bad move - he's subjected to pain unlike any he's ever felt before, his consciousness crumbles and he is filled with dread at the thought of dying right there

187- His little trial run has had the opposite effect he intended - he's now deathly afraid of the foreign body that's contaminating him. It feels like the arm is the trigger of a gun that's pointed at his head, and the thought that he has to cut it off briefly flashes through his mind. He manages to suppress it and tries to go to sleep. Jeez that experience he had sounds horrendous, I can't imagine he will try using the arm again unless it's his very last option

189- Sakura comes by and interrupts his sleep in order to have him replenish her magic again. Shirou sure is getting a lot of action this time around! I just want to point out that Shirou doesn't have the red cloth wrapped around his left arm in the h-scenes - immersion ruined! Once again Shirou feels slightly unsettled about the high amount of pleasure he experiences, and how dreamlike the whole thing feels

191- Again the night ends with another nightmarish scene involving the shadow - it feels like it's suffocating as if underwater, and is in pain. In it's hands are many corpses that it smashes, and it smears the blood on it's body as if it's some kind of watertight protection against the sea it's forced to live in. It wants more, and expands into a giant shadow to crush the town...

193- ...and Sakura wakes up from the dream, her hands wet with blood. Oh shit. Shit shit shit shit. Thankfully when she looks again after closing her eyes her hands are clean. It was just a hallucination. But the damage has been done, her mind feels broken. All she feels is hunger and lust. Even though she just made love with Shirou she's not satisfied. She feels like she's going mad, and is terrified that she'll go crazy and drive away her one source of happiness. Her night is spent drowning in despair. Fuuuuck this isn't going to go well at ALL. Girl is on the verge of breaking, and at this point I feel like it's just a question of when she will do so, not if. I have a bad feeling about tomorrow...
