Earth-Z1

Once upon a time some schmuck decided to develop her own take on the multiverse that is DC Comics. Shows like Justice League and Smallville were big on the US airwaves during the time this timeline was create, so there is a degree is influence in that regard. Consuming content from other stories and mediums added to that influence, whether it was from The Death of Superman, The Killing Joke, or Knightfall.

Since Smallville was always the main DC television program the aforementioned schmuck watched his imagination tended to focus on Superman. There are many retellings of his origins and adventures and a few takes on his personality. I didn’t grow up with the “timid Clark Kent, Christ-esque Superman” but rather the Superman seen in the ‘DC Animated Universe’ shows, as well as Smallville. Still, that doesn’t necessarily mean I agree with the ideas of those characters, either. Coming from a more “good guys just outright kill the bad guys” background in shows like Power Rangers and Dragon Ball, my own Superman (from what I’ve dubbed ‘Earth-Z1’ with much lackluster) is closer to the Golden Age version of the character in terms of how he’ll handle a villain: if it’s apparent said villain will cause a lot of mayhem, kill ‘em. Earth-Z1 is not restricted continuing a story and universe of characters running for decades on end (like the main DC Comics universes), thus allowing for the permanent deaths of characters.
Obviously readers will take note that many superheroes on Earth-Z1 begin their careers in crime-fighting in their teens or early twenties. This was done, specifically with Superman, because it allowed for their careers to go on longer and because most of the ‘heroes’ I grew up with fought during their teens. Because of the more intellectual Superman-Z1 (brought on by years of only being able to find a challenge in academics) the notion of the character not attending college became an interesting one. Obviously I wanted to include Lois, too, so I’ve made her a crack genius in her own right. On the subject of Lois, I think the idea of the Superman mask is pretty dumb, so I decided it would be more fun to have Lois not be fooled by Clark in any manner, Clark accepting this, and the two being a crime-fighting duo from day one. It’s different, it’s fresh, and it allows for the eventual romance to have earlier roots.
I’m not a big fan of the ‘Superman dualism’, as you might be able to tell. In fact, I’m not really a big fan of ‘dualism’ in general. As such, this Clark Kent keeps his identity hidden for as long as he can because he simply doesn’t want to be bothered. He’s a bit cranky like that, the rascal. Additionally, Earth-Z1 features the storyline of all of the heroes’ secret identities being revealed because it is an interesting idea, seldom explored properly. It was just a dream” stories are boring, either, so the characters of Earth-Z1 will have to adjust to new situations. Regular change aides a long-running title in staying fresh.
The overall scope of the Earth-Z1 universe is much grander than typical DC universes. Rarely do we get to see a long stretch of time play out, which has always bugged me. Coming from the Weekly Shou’nen JUMP comic Dragon Ball, where the main character grows from a twelve year old kid into a forty-seven year old grandfather, it would feel much less epic if the status quo didn’t cover the entirety of one’s life (or at least all the interesting parts up to their death).
To fall in line with moving beyond the early years (and established tropes of official DCU stories), I’ve given many heroes normal lives. Lois and Clark wind up having three kids; Bruce picks up the pieces of his life and manages to create a family to replace his shattered childhood. With the Kents you get George, who inherits the aggressiveness of his parents and seeks to inherit the Superman name. With Nolan you get the kid who doesn’t really care for living a rowdy life, so he does nothing with his great power. Maybe he winds up being a musician or a Wal-Mart manager? Who knows and who cares? With Maddie you get the daughter who inherits the wits and intelligence of her parents and uses those in the chaotic time she lives in (in addition to her own physical strength, of course).
I’m all for doing new things, so with Bruce being someone who didn’t have a full childhood I think it’d be interesting for him to be the kind of guy who would basically want a dozen kids. Of course, this being written as a battle-centric universe one might have to—humorously—wonder if he’d use them all as soldiers in his crusade to clean up Gotham. The character of Helena serves as a reminder that the past doesn’t have to dictate the present or the future. For Bruce, who learns this truth while at his lowest point, it is a welcomed new outlook on the world.

The Who:

Characters from the DC Comics catalogue including Superman and Batman among others will be present throughout the history of Earth-Z1. These characters will be amalgamations of previous official versions of these characters, drawing from any medium designated suitable to the stories and outcomes sought by the writer.

The Where:

Temporally titled ‘Earth-Z1’, this Earth is constantly plagued by strife. At the turn of the twenty-first century Earth-Z1 becomes embroiled in meta-human war after meta-human war. Conflicts emanating both from Earth (Atlantis), space (Thangar, Apokolips) and even alternate realities (Earth-Z3) will continue to tear the world apart until the very threads of reality are tugged at.
Originally, the use of multiple, long-lasting conflicts throughout Earth-Z1’s history was simply indulgence in my own love of such conflicts. In hindsight, the use of so many closely set wars appears almost as a parody of the many events throughout the official mainstream DC Universe.

The Why:

Superman:

Why Does Clark Kent Begin his Career as Superman at Eighteen Years Old?

From the very beginning of the project it was decided that most heroes would begin their careers in their teens. I felt that this would be an interesting change from the norm and began to work out an in-universe explanation from there.
In keeping with the more aggressive character of Clark Kent-Z1, I felt it made since that Clark would move to Metropolis to play hero at eighteen. For one, he would be legally able to move out and would have led a childhood Ma Kent could be satisfied with. No longer bound by any feelings of obligation, Clark could begin to indulge in his bottled-up sense of adventure and battle.

Batman:

Why Does Bruce Wayne Witness His Parents Death at Twelve Years Old?

Most official continuities place the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne when Bruce is nine years old. For Earth-Z1 I wanted to explore who Bruce was before his parents died and how it affected him and would lead him to becoming Batman at age eighteen. For this purpose I killed Bruce’s parents when he was twelve, so he could be mature enough to have a wider range of emotions. Experiencing their deaths first hand at twelve makes it easier to portray Bruce as being unhealthily obsessed, showcasing him being psychologically broken while on the cusp of turning a new page in his life.

Why Are Both Superman and Batman born after 11 September 2001?

For the 2017 revision of this timeline I decided that it would be most interesting to make Clark Kent a sort of representation of the post-9/11 generation. My generation was old enough to remember the world before and after 9/11, but there is now a generation that is not old enough to remember a world before the Twin Towers fell and the world was consumed by endless—if distant—war that has ruined the United State’s standing in the world and its own middle-class’ economic future. For a very real generation 9/11 is simply something that happened and always has been. If ‘Superman’ is supposedly an ‘American icon’, I felt it would be most interesting to place him in that generation that never knew anything different, especially as this work is being written by a Millenial on the cusp of his generation taking over as the majority of the workforce. For those of us who still remember the world before 11 September 2001 this ‘Superman’ is truly ‘The Man of Tomorrow’.

Brainiac begins the process of destroying Krypton, half out of emotional rebellion and half out of cold technological decree.
•Brothers Jor and Zor-El realized what Brainiac is up to and manage to create escape craft for their children. Kara tries to reason with Brianiac whom she suspects has something of a fondness for her, but he refuses. Kara Zor-El and the fetus-filled birthing-matrix of Kal-El escape on separate crafts prepared by their families. Brainiac sends probes after the two craft to destroy them. Automatically course-correcting to avoid the probes’ attacks, the two crafts pass through a wormhole, arriving on Earth decades apart.

The baby is named Clark Kent, a name they had picked out for their stillborn child should it have been a boy. Kara Zor-El—having hidden on Earth for several decades now—learns of her cousin’s arrival after one of her old Kryptonian sensors detects the arrival of his ship. Before killing the Wayne matriarch and patriarch, Chill scorns them for having the money to spend $200,000,000 on “some stupid pet project” but not on the city itself. 254•Jonathan Kent (31) considers running for the senate in the wake of the collapse of family farms and the social safety net in Kansas. Feeling passionate about what the system was able to give Martha during her post-partum what he himself could not afford, Jonathan wishes to rebuild the system and make it better than ever. Lionel Luthor (49) a wealthy corporate tycoon who benefits from the non-existent taxes on the wealthy in Kansas, sets about mechanizing the financial strain on the Kent family and supporters to squash Jonathan’s campaign. The guilt of having to abandon his dream of growing beyond Smallville for a second time places critical strain on Jonathan’s health.
•Jason Todd is born.
•Lex Luthor (17) breaks up with his boyfriend after humiliating him in public by accidentally dead-naming him at the junior prom during the Prom King Acceptance speech. Horrified, Lex leaves for Smallville with his father to escape far away from his guilt rather than face it.

Clark Kent realizes that he’s pansexual for Lex but Lex rebukes his offer, too, saying that Clark’s a little too young for him and frankly he just isn’t ready to love again. The lads’ friendship slowly repairs Lex’s heart.
•Bruce Wayne (15) hunts down members of the Justice Society. Having built up his mind and body through extensive training on his own Bruce is determined to learn from the best. Kara, seeing that Bruce might be the start of a new generation of heroes that will surely take the headlines by storm, agrees to Bruce’s proposal to begin a hero-training academy in secret using his funding. Alfred Pennyworth (36) reluctantly agrees to facilitate the transferring of funds after Bruce threatens his trusted guardian with emancipation. Bruce Wayne becomes Batman.
•Clark Kent solidifies his place as the top junior tennis player in Kansas. Learning of her cousin’s complete shut-down of the competition Kara comes to realize that Clark can no longer stay quiet. Power Woman (now using the House of El symbol to seal the traditional boob window) approaches Clark on his way home from his first day at Smallville High School. Clark notices his shadow before she can speak and quietly whispers an introduction. Clark reveals he has suspected for some time that Power Woman had been following him and consequently reveals that he has researched the heroes of the fabled ‘Golden Age’ and ‘Silver Age’ and suspected that she was considering bringing him into the fold. Kara reveals their mutual past and offers him to transfer to a special school for young metahumans to learn how to be heroes. Clark agrees to check out the headquarters and meet the old members, unsurprised that he and Kara are related. The older members all look as if they are still in their fifties or sixties, despite being much older than that. After some training sessions and getting to meet the new team, Clark decides he wants to play it solo for a while. Bruce Wayne—now consumed by rage and revenge since the last time he met the Kent boy—balks at Clark’s decision and challenges his junior to a sparring match. Despite the ferocious and exacting strategies that Bruce has set in place they are no match for the surprisingly calm, observant Clark. Power Woman notes that Clark’s years of having no physical match have not only given him unmatched patience under pressure but a desire to compete in the one field that human can match him in—debate and philosophy. Clark returns to Smallville but does accepting a parting gift from his cousin: an opportunity to design his first hero suit: a red leather jacket, a blue tee shirt with a simple ‘S’ symbol (intentionally different from the usual House of El symbol that is typically on Superman’s costumes or in this case, Power Woman-Z1’s costume), blue jeans and boots.
•Jennifer-Lynn Hayden (Jade) is born.
•In December events are set into motion that lead to Jonathan Kent (32) and Lionel Luthor (50) fighting each other for Clark. Jonathan suffers a stress and poor health-induced heart attack during their fisticuffs and Lionel discovers Clark’s ship. Using the power of the crystal from the ship to power a transformation device (similar to a Kamen Rider’s belt, maybe?) he had created based on other Kryptonian technology that had fallen into his hands. Lionel achieves power similar to a Kryptonian’s and begins to use it for his own ends. Clark confronts Lionel, fueled by rage over Jonathan’s death. After obtaining an upper hand, Clark is ready to deal the finishing blow when Lionel decides to play mind games. “Ask yourself this, does killing me make you a god? Where does it end?” Clark replies simply “All I’ve had my entire life is my thoughts. Endless time to think and consider, ‘who do I want to be?’ I’ve known who I am for a long time.” Clark begins to disarm Lionel, but the madman goes for another blow. With a mighty counter, Clark slams his fist into Lionel’s nose, killing him.
•A schism is born between Clark and Lex, prompting the guilt-ridden Lex to leave Smallville. To atone, Lex shaves his prized hair.
•Following Jonathan Kent’s funeral, Clark tells Kara that “for what it’s worth, you made the right decision letting me stay with the Kents.” With Jonathan dead it is now more clear than ever to him that he has to achieve his own goals, rather than sticking around in town like his father chose to do at his own cost.
•Wanting for herself and Clark to achieve what Jonathan sacrificed his life for them to someday do, Martha sells the Kent Family farm and moves herself, Joy and Clark to Metropolis so that he can attend the Justice Academy.
•Clark decides to use his connections at the Daily Planet as a secretive anonymous writer to get a full-time job there. Clark’s identity as a super-powered being is instantly revealed to Social Media Editor Lois Lane (15), a child prodigy in the world of writing. Lois is not happy to have another teen genius working at the paper. Lois and Clark work together to bring the truth and justice to the people of Metropolis.
•Lois and Clark have a nasty run-in with the Metallion, a private military contractor based in Metropolis. The duo begins to investigate the corporation, looking for any they might find in exposing their inhumane experiments in creating androids for war to sell to the highest bidder. Their president and CEO—John Corbin—tries to play it safe at first so as to not draw unnecessary attention to Metallion’s projects.

In addition to his usual abilities increasing in power, Clark evolves his telescopic vision to include x-ray vision, heat vision, and learns to mix solar energy with stored up oxygen in his lungs, generating freeze breath. Additionally, Clark gains the ability to fly. Through various battles against his regular foes Clark manages to further his skill with his new abilities.

The teens lie to Perry and decide to continue their sleuthing.

Zod offers Clark Kent (16) a chance to join him, but Clark says he has no intentions of leaving his life on Earth. Kara tells Clark to be weary of Zod. Zod, seeking a Kryptonian artifact that was hidden on Earth years before, has his forces search the Earth, but his company of soldiers is filled with some real scumbags. Clark comes into conflict with a group of thuggish soldiers, but Zod breaks up the fight and tries to placate Clark.
•Eventually Zod finds the artifact, a crystal that is powerful enough to convert a planet into a new Krypton, which would allow Zod to mine its resources to rebuild a new, more military-based Krypton. Zod reveals his true colors to the world by attacking the White House and US Congress. While Zod holds the US president and congress captive his forces will procure the supplies they need to begin planting the crystal at the Earth’s core. The JLE and JSA have their hands tied. Kara studies the records stored in her and Clark’s ships about the forbidden technology of the crystal. Kara learns that the House of El had originally developed the crystal to rebuild Krypton’s dying ecosystem, but the only power source that could trigger the process was by sacrificing a planet. For being so dangerous, the House of El and the Science Council agreed to scrap the project and seal the crystal on a world that they felt would never have the capability of using it.
•Superman, fed up with being able to do nothing, challenges Zod to a one-on-one after a simple “Please, stop” does not stop Zod’s ambitions. The General reminds Superman that he has the president’s life in his hand but Clark fires his heat vision into Zod’s eyes, blinding him. Superman reveals that he and Power Woman discovered that they can draw on the light from the sun to boost their already mighty physical power and speed. This, of course, leads to new abilities like flight, heat vision, and x-ray vision. Zod is incredulous. Superman gives the signal over his communicator to begin the operation.
•Meanwhile the JLE and JSA attack the excavation site. Power Woman enters a battle with Ursa. Alan Scott uses his kick-ass battle armor from Kingdom Come to fight the Kryptonian soldiers at full power. Jay Garrick sacrifices himself to destroy the drilling machine. WildCat helps evacuate Earth workers being used as manual labor at the excavation site, angry that he knows it is all he can do against the Kryptonians.
•Power Woman and Ursa’s battle spills into an area near the core of the Earth. Ursa stabs Power Woman with the crystal and plans to throw her into a pit of lava. Power Woman overcomes the pain of her wound, takes the crystal, and stabs Urusla in the heart. Ursa coughs up blood, says something indecent about Power Woman, then takes a bitch-slapping into the pit of lava.
•Meanwhile, Zod finds himself having a hard time landing a blow on Superman despite his decades of experience. Zod is an old man and hasn’t as good a grasp on using solar energy as Superman, which gives Big Blue another advantage. Finally Clark’s superior stamina and strength break through Zod’s skillful blocks and counters and Clark has the old man wheezing. Zod goes on about how Jor-El was a fool and he was glad he “killed him.” Zod expects Clark to get upset and attack him, planning to stab him with a dagger made of Kryptonian crystal, but Clark remains unperturbed. Clark rushes in after a stare down and gets an upper hand on Zod, breaks his nose with an elbow and grabs the dagger from Zod. Zod asks why Clark isn’t angry about Krypton’s destruction. Clark replies that he feels no connection to Krypton and that he decided who he was a long time ago. Zod swears to sacrifice Earth for the resurrection of the glorious Kryptonian Empire. Clark sighs, accepting that there is no convincing Zod to back down. Using his overwhelming strength, Superman snaps Zod’s neck.
•With General Zod and Ursa dead, their son Lor-Zod (17) is given an ultimatum by Superman: continue fighting a pointless fight or leave Earth and turn over a new leaf. Through interviews with Lois Lane at the Daily Planet as well as the Daily Planet’s YouTube channel and social media Superman pleads with the American people to speak to their elected officials about ending the illegal wars perpetuated by the United States. A shell corporation for the military industrial complex buys the Daily Planet and fires Perry White, Lois and Clark for refusing to stop covering the Superman story. Lois and Clark start up a blog and YouTube channel—Picky Leaks—to serve as a new outlet for their continuing coverage of Superman’s public speeches to the people around the country. Forced to fight a battle of wits and strategy, Superman finds himself unable to solve this confrontation with force. The streets of Metropolis burn in terror as the Underworlders make the city their own. With his hands tied, Superman decides to pull out his trump card: giving up. Speaking on live camera at a local Metropolis news station, Superman plainly decrees he’s refuses to decide whether or not the people of Metropolis get harmed. Eventually, Metropolis realizes that their fate is truly in their hands. After the initial shock of Superman’s ‘giving up’ settles in the people of Metropolis remember their own fire and begin to take back their streets themselves. After a significant attempt to rescue the hostages at the Daily Planet goes awry, Superman reappears to help the Dan Turpin-led SWAT team. Finally able to fight the new Underworlders leader without having to worry about the hostages, Superman engages in a duel with Lawbster as Turpin leads the hostages to safety. Unable to remove Lawbster from the Daily Planet, Superman battles with his foe, destroying the news bullpin while trying to refrain from destroying the entire building. The Thanagar-Brainiac union reigns down on Rann, forcing Sardath to return Adam to Earth with this daughter Alanna. Thanagar conquers Rann quickly after. Adam studies a damaged Brainiac drone he brought back from Rann and learns that it’s programmed with data on Earth as its next target.

With none of his usual techniques working, Superman is at the receiving end of a tantalizing beat down in which he cannot even land a good hit. Power Woman arrives and helps throw a monkey wrench in Brainiac’s calculated attack with the lack of combat data he has on her. Superman asks why Brainiac didn’t expect that Power Woman would arrive. Brainiac retorts with a question of his own, asking why he thinks he brought only one unit to Earth. Suddenly two hundred Mark III units appear from an alien warship. The Justice League appears one by one to cover each other’s asses as a massive war breaks out in Metropolis. Kara tries to reason with Brainiac, but he will have nothing of it, despite being rather talkative with her. Superman tears his way aboard Brainiac’s ship and confronts the powerful Brainiac Mark IV. After a struggle, Superman proves he can be just as unpredictable as necessary to win a fight. Destroying the Mark IV and damaging the ship, Superman forces Brainiac’s small army to deactivate, no longer operational without a command ship.
•Brainiac anonymously sends Mongul combat footage of the JLA. Superman and the Justice League (Wonder Woman, Kaldur, Martian Manhunter, and Robin) are invited to War World, a sort of ‘living weapon’ capable of waging war on other planets while also holding life. Presented with the option to either be killed or fight for their lives and the entertainment of aliens (some being wealthy black-market businessmen) in a team tournament, the League members agree to go with the flow until Adam Strange can teleport them home. After being crushed by Lobo (B-minus) in battle Superman learns he is currently only ‘D average’ in strength, with rankings going up to A and S-class, although few in the universe reach that level of power. Mongul, amused by the scrappiness of the battle-weary JLA team is not entirely displeased when they are whisked by Zeta Beam before they can be executed for losing to Lobo’s team.
•Batman and Jim Gordon succeed in toppling the crime families of the Gotham City mob. Now, only the super-villain empires remain. Jim Gordon (38) is made police commissioner after Commissioner Loeb is convicted on solid evidence that he turned a blind eye and even helped the mob on occasion.

With their forces combined the four manage to bring Darkseid to his knees, but Darkseid threatens Superman with the knowledge that if he dies thousands of worlds across the universe will be thrown into chaos. Clark replies “Of the billions of people you’ve subjugated there’s bound to be enough to lead the rest back to peace and prosperity, it’s simple mathematics!” calling back to a similar line Darkseid used in their first meeting and goes in for the killing blow. Hawkgirl—a Thanagarian soldier long since cashiered from her home world—believes she could try to broker peace.
•A JLE team (including Hawkgirl, John Stewart and Adam Strange) use Zeta Beam technology to arrive on Thanagar and request that Rann be freed. The Ruling Council is non-plused by this request but claims they will “consider it.” This placation turns out to be a ruse as Thanagar opens up trade talks with the Earth which they ultimately plan to use as a chance to conquer it. Having forced Sardath to advance Zeta Beam technology to allow for transporting ships across long distances, Thanagar sends a fleet to Earth’s space, presenting themselves as significantly less militarily advanced as they really are. The economy of Earth explodes in activity as a result.

The Annihilator inflicts more damage upon Atlantis, but is quickly stopped by Aquaman who calls for his people to stand united once learning of the suit’s weakness. The Annihilator is transferred to the JLE moon prison for safe-keeping.
•Hal Jordan (36) holds a grudge against Arthur for the damage Atlantis did to Coast City. Consumed with grief and on the verge of a divorce with Carol, Hal drains the Central Green Lantern Power Battery and creates his ‘Parallax armor’. No longer feeling compassion or expressing much emotion, Hal devastates Atlantis. The Central Battery is damaged, leaving the Green Lantern Corps with little power left to work with.
•Carol leads a JLE team to confront Hal. Hal doesn’t see any reason to turn himself over or face any consequences for his actions. Barry Allen tries to reason with his friend, but is only ignored. The Green Lantern Corps send a team of ‘Alpha Lanterns’. Through teamwork the Alpha Lanterns and JLE pin Hal down long enough for the Guardians to forcibly extract the Parallax armor from Hal and reconvert it into energy for the Central Power Battery. Hal is imprisoned by the Guardians on Mogo.
•Harvey Dent (30) becomes Two-Face. Losing this ally only damages Batman’s morale and closes him off further from those around him.
•Superman returns to War World and defeats Lobo. Superman also defeats the ‘undefeated’ Mongul (A-plus), earning the rank of ‘A-average’. Vandal Savage uses this opportunity to offer Mongul a chance to eventually face Superman in battle again, this time with the stakes for Superman being much higher. Mongul, intrigued by a chance to fight Superman not just for sport, agrees to Mongul’s plans.

4002030: Iris West-Allen (37) is killed by Captain Boomerang. Barry Allen (37) hunts down and kills Captain Boomerang in retaliation.
Wracked with grief, Barry Allen spends a few months researching a way to master his ability to run through time. When Wally West notices Barry about to make a run through time, he follows. Barry notices Wally on his trail and leads him on a wild goose chase, eventually trapping an exhausted Wally in the past during a sticky situation. Wally eventually recovers his stamina and returns to the present to find a vastly altered reality where Barry rules the Earth as the time lord ‘Flashpoint’. With a ragtag team of the few remaining Justice Leaguers (led by Dick Grayson as Batman II) Kid Flash abandons his battle-damaged costume and creates his own costume as the Flash III. Wally confronts Barry and learns that Barry did manage to save Iris but when Iris learns of his tampering with time she left him. Blaming Wally for his failures, Barry determines to kill him. Wally is determined to finally outrun Barry. In a climactic battle between mentor and student Wally finally surpasses Barry who loses control of his speed and fades into time. Reality returns to normal, minus Barry and Iris Allen.
Wally West (18) officially takes on the identity of Flash III.
Detective Harvey Bullock (44) is killed in the line of duty. Batman takes it hard, despite his shaky relationship with Bullock.
Don and Dawn Allen (9) begin to act as the Tornado Twins under the tutelage of Wally West.
Cadmus recruits twelve soldiers, heroes, and convicts to wear new armors made of Nth metal, working directly for the US and Cadmus.
Following the previous meta-human wars Cadmus reveals it has readied a twelve-man army of ‘Nth Knights’ made from left over Nth metal left on Earth after the Thanagarian occupation, among other weapons. With the Justice League well equipped with their army, space fleet, and Watchtower cannons the US begins to fear the next big threat to humanity is right under their nose.
The Justice League is concerned by the creation of the Nth Knights, fearing that they might have instigated an arms race. Despite their concern the JLE remains mum on the subject, deciding to take a wait-and-see approach. Batman begins to dig into Cadmus.
Nightwing’s black-ops cell within the JLE digs up dirt on another of Cadmus’ projects: the restoration of the Poseidon warship.
In secret, Vandal Savage uses his network in space to begin instigating revolutions on worlds conquered by Thanagar. Already fighting several wars of conquest on multiple fronts, Thanagar is spread thinly.
Vandal kills Professor Ivo and steals the technology that created Adam the Amazo Kid. Vandal merges Ivo's Amazo technology with Nth metal and various other technologies to create a thirteenth Nth Knight armor for himself.
One dark, snowy December night James Gordon (45) is shot in the line of duty. Batgirl Barbara Gordon and Batman Bruce Wayne track down the suspect, surprisingly just a simple street punk. Jim pulls through and returns to duty soon after.

4132031: After blowing up in an argument with Dick Grayson (18) over a call made during a black-ops mission, Bruce Wayne (29) begins showing signs of running a fever. Jason Todd (17) suggests they take some time off and hit the Caribbean, but Bruce retorts “if crime doesn’t rest, the Batman can’t either.” Bane (25) decides to make his move on Gotham and the Batman. Freeing the inmates from Arkham, Bane wears Batman (29) down by forcing him to face his greatest foes back-to-back-to-back with no time for rest. Ill, beaten, stabbed, and shot, Batman continues to push like one equally as insane as those he battles through sleepless days and nights. Fed up, Jason finally drugs Bruce so that he will get some sleep. With the Wintery Gotham still in chaos Jason decides to run a few patrols to lighten the load.
Early the next morning, The Joker (37) lures Robin II into a trap as per his agreement with Bane that he make the Batman suffer. Jason Todd (17) fights his way past the Joker’s tricks and confronts the clown in direct combat. The battle is a brutal fight, with Robin II dying from injuries mid-battle. The Joker escapes from the site of the fight, but not without a few injuries of his own courtesy Jason Todd. The injuries run deeper than just broken bones and cuts, though. Batman arrives too late to save Jason and hunts down Bane for revenge, blaming him for unleashing the Joker. Running on fumes, Batman is brutally beaten—physically, mentally, and spiritually in a battle at the Gotham Mall.
Dick becomes more embittered with Bruce, who has become stricken with grief and the guilt of introducing Jason to crime fighting. Realizing that Jason and Dick are the ultimate examples of his need to make those around him hate him as much as he hates himself for the death of his parents, Bruce breaks down with grief and guilt, his sixteen year-long façade of confidence shattered. While JLE technology repairs his spine, Batman's other injuries remain unattended as he disappears before the job can be finished.
Thanks to Vandal Savage the Joker and Harley Quinn manage to hide away in Europe. At first the Joker seems fine, but slowly he begins to feel guilt for Robin II’s death. “He was about the age my kid would’ve been…”
After a month of living in his own personal hell fate intervenes to set Batman back on the right path as crime rises in Gotham.
After wandering the streets of a chaotic Gotham for weeks, Bruce finds himself at the park he used to play at as a kid. There Bruce finds Selina Kyle with a three year old daughter, Helena. Bruce learns the girl is his and the real reason Selina retired from being Catwoman was to give Helena the happy childhood neither had. Unable to deny himself the human warmth he has shunned for sixteen years any longer, Bruce abandons his fears of living a life with love and some semblance of happiness and proposes to Selina while the two sit at her apartment’s dining room table. Selina accepts, happy to see Bruce’s eyes filled with life, finally accepting his heart’s desire. No longer will bonding over tragedy (as he has with Dick and Jason) be the only way Bruce Wayne creates true bonds.
Bruce and Selina marry a few weeks later, Dick pushing himself to accept Bruce’s offer to be his best man. After the reception, Alfred Pennyworth (88)—content that the nightmare for his ‘Master Bruce’ is finally over—passes away in his sleep, pictures of the old and new Wayne family clutched tightly in his hand.
On their honeymoon Bruce and Selina partake in a team-up to save Helena from kidnappers seeking to extort them. Batman is reborn, with a new costume!
Bane sits atop the throne of Gotham, having taken full reign from Batman. Establishing his own brand of order in the shattered organized crime world Bane begins undoing the years of work Batman has performed in cleaning up the city.
Bane kills the mayor of Gotham and begins systematically killing off judges and other political figures that will rule against him. Batman and Catwoman narrowly save Commissioner Gordon from an attempted assassination attempt. Gordon is brought to the Batcave for safety, finally confirming his suspicions that Bruce Wayne is Batman.
Having long suspected that Bruce Wayne is Batman, Bane sends an army to Wayne Manor. The JLE defend Wayne Manor from the assault and Bruce decides it is time for his rematch with Bane. Batman makes himself available at city hall, soon drawing the attention of Bane. Finding his reign challenged, Bane accepts Batman’s duel. Despite his mind and body being in their ultimate form Batman finds himself on the end of a slaughter. To save Bruce from dying Catwoman shoots Bane in the head.
Billy Batson (10) becomes Captain Marvel and earns his way into the Justice League.
Brainiac’s soul is separated from his identity as a knowledge-seeking artificial intelligence, resulting in the creation of two Brainics, one who considers himself Jor-El’s eldest son and one who is without humanity and only seeks knowledge at any price. The Brainiac with the heart takes on the name Brian Kent. It’s as fool-proof an identity as Clark Kent’s glasses!
The Brainiac AI reveals the identities of the world’s heroes. Chaos ensues as everyone’s world is thrown upside down. The Brainiac AI takes advantage of the moment and attacks with an armada.
The Brainiac AI is destroyed by Clark, Brian, and Davis Kent.

4292032: Nolan Kent is born to Clark and Lois Kent.
After years of chasing Two-Face down Batman reveals his identity to him and manages to help him regain his sanity/faith in people. Retaining his scarred face (because it’s the sensible, badass thing to do), Dent returns to practicing law after receiving a clean bill of health some time later.
The Justice League of Earth and the Nth Knights work together to repel an alien invasion.
The Nth Knights commandeer the JLE’s moon base from Zod’s forces. Cadmus ‘respectfully’ asks to be allowed to keep the foothold in space, the Annihilator suit included. The JLE, not wanting to heat up an already icy relationship, agree.
Sinestro stages a prison break, freeing Hal Jordan (39) from Mogo.

4352033: Martian Manhunter follows in Superman’s footsteps by not running for League Chairman for a second term. Zatanna is elected Chairman.
When the Guardians of Oa become aware that Sinestro is planning “something big” they hesitantly assign Hal Jordan a chance to lighten his sentence. Hal agrees, but still shows no signs of remorse for his actions. With an escape staged, Hal manages to make his way into Sinestros Yellow Lantern Corps after building up a street reputation of his own.
The Sinestro Corps declares war on the Green Lanterns and those associated with them. Guardian Space is enveloped in war. Kyle Rayner (16) and Jade (16) become Green Lanterns after Hal Jordan (40), Guy Gardner, and John Stewart are made warship captains in the Sinestro Corps War. Together these two protect the Earth.
Barbara Gordon (20) retires from being Batgirl after falling debris paralyzes her while saving a child during a run-of-the-mill house fire. After dealing with the initial grief, she takes on the role of Oracle, manning the Batcave.
Vandal Savage masterminds an assassination attempt on the Queen of Mars by a radical White Martian terrorist cell that draws the Martian Manhunter back to Mars. While trying to solve the case (detective skills for the win!), J’onn is killed before he can fully uncover the mystery. Miss Martian (22) and a team of heroes go to Mars to finish up where J’onn left off. The blame is shifted entirely to Savage’s co-conspirator on Mars; the queen’s powerful but greedy uncle. The attempted coup d’état splits Martian Green and White, nearly setting the planet into prolonged civil war. After the case is solved, the JLE team returns to Earth, minus Miss Martian who decides to act as a knight under the queen’s direct command.

4412034: Bruce Wayne (32) recruits Tim Drake (14) as Robin III. Dick protests, but Tim stands convicted to be Robin. Dick is much more involved with this Robin, hoping to prevent the mistakes with Jason.
Technology from Apokolips turns Jimmy Olsen (20) into a meta-human. Drunk on his power, Jimmy becomes a great threat to Metropolis. Unable to help Jimmy, Superman is forced to kill him to protect George Kent.
Thanagar loses three of their conquered colonies to their respective peoples and finds its active campaigns going nowhere. Vandal baits the Thanagarians with an easy conquest, the uneasy Mars. Seeking payback for their failure to conquer Earth, an aggravated Hawkman pushes his superiors to go along with Savage’s idea and personally leads an army to Mars.
The JLE lends support to the Queen of Mars’ forces when it becomes apparent that the fall of the Queen’s reign will spell chaos instead of peace.
Vandal makes his big move and sends a Cadmus fleet of warships to Thanagar. Led by the powerful Nth Knights, Cadmus’ forces utterly devastate the nigh defenseless Thanagarian home world. With communications knocked out and their combat strength nil, Thanagar officially surrenders to Earth.
Hawkman’s fleet learns of Thanagar’s fall. What’s more, Hawkman finds that his assault on Mars is in essence a lot of busywork and the war plans lent by Vandal Savage are hurting him, rather than helping. Just as Hawkman realizes he’s been played like a fiddle his command center tent is hit by a mortar.
Cadmus, ready and willing to lend a hand to the war-weary Mars, sets up an official United States embassy on Mars. Vandal finds himself a legitimate foot in the door to Mars’ politics.
The Joker (40) resurfaces in Gotham City after years of eluding Batman across the world. The Joker hijacks a Gotham elementary school. Batman and Catwoman sneak into the school. In a final confrontation with the clown, Batman nearly kills The Joker after he threatens to trigger a series of bombs hidden around the school. On the verge of death, a bloody and beaten Joker sobs as he begs Batman to kill him. Since killing Jason Todd Napier has been consumed with guilt, having discovered a conscious he never knew he still had after years of watching Batman’s sacrifices. Jack Napier and Harleen Quinzel turn themselves over to the police, revealing that the bombs were fakes.
Martin ‘Marty’ Wayne is born to Bruce and Selina Wayne (32) on Christmas Day.
Batman, having grown leery about Cadmus’ recent actions, approaches Amanda Waller (41) about who is really pulling Cadmus’ strings. Waller remains mum, leaving Batman still with little idea of what trump cards Cadmus is holding.

4522035: Lois Lane (33) becomes Editor and Chief of the Daily Planet when Perry White (66) steps down to focus on finishing a story and ready for retirement. Perry dies in a burning Daily Planet V shortly after while trying to finally solve the mystery he has followed since his days as a young reporter. With the Daily Planet destroyed for a fifth time Lois decides to say “to hell with it” and turns the Daily Planet into a television news station. Clark Kent works as a behind the scenes producer while Lois runs the day-to-day operations. Jimmy Olsen takes up a job as a camera man.
The Justice League of Earth christens a new starship class in cooperation with Mars, Oa, and other worlds that have become friendly with the League. This project is overseen by Carol Farris (42). This starship class is capable of deep-space travel and defending itself in battle as a response to Cadmus’ revival of the Poseidon and their space fleet based on it.

4552036: Madeleine Kent is born to Clark and Lois Kent.
Cassandra Cain (17) becomes Batgirl II under the mentoring of the Bat-Family.
In the wake of a large battle with the Sinestro Corps the JLE Earth Defense Division is exhausted. Cadmus takes this opportunity to bolster Earth’s standing in the wider galactic scene by announcing an alliance with War World as led by Mongul. The JLE grimaces and quickly renews efforts to build up a fleet of ships. The remaining six Watchtowers orbiting Earth are re-organized with primary staff moved over to a new Watchtower officially built with being a space-dock for the new JLE fleet in mind.

4592037: Mars (Ares) kills Hippolyta and decimates the Amazons. Hades, enraged by the actions of his nephew, personally confronts Mars, only to fall victim to Mars’ new ‘Roman’ powers. Stripped of his power, Hades is banished to Tartarus, which he once ruled. Mars frees those wicked souls banished to Tartarus and uses them to cause havoc across the world.
Wonder Woman frees Hades. Hades seeks out the means of how Ares assumed the power of Mars. Finding the Roman power himself, Hades becomes Pluto and reclaims his throne, restoring the escaped wicked souls to Tartarus. Mars reveals an army from Planet Mars, each Martian soldier powered-up by Roman energy. The Justice League of Earth and Nth Knights protect Earth from the onslaught.
With the Martians, who were supposedly allies of the US now attacking them, the United States agrees to further funding and expand Cadmus’ presence on Mars.
Now directly linked with every Martian (barring Miss Martian), Mars storms Hera’s castle to claim her throne. Diana Prince defends her goddess but is severely outmatched. Pluto lends Wonder Woman a hand, but is also outmatched. Using the last of his stamina, Pluto delays Mars long enough for Wonder Woman to cut off his head and cut his torso through his heart. Ares is dead, but so are all of the Martians.
The United States of America, already having a foothold on Mars, claims the world as its own territory. Miss Martian and the JLE protest, but their calls fall on deaf ears. Cadmus assumes the Martian technologies and begins to combine it with their Atlantean and Thanagarian technologies.
Hawkman Katar Hol is discovered to be alive and living in a now empty Martian slum. Amanda Waller and the President of the United States agree to make Hol an example by trying and executing Hol for his crimes. Vandal disapproves of this but allows it to pass so as to not risk his position.
Hol requests a meeting with the Justice League through his lawyer and such is arranged. Shayera, Batman, and Nightwing are shocked, if weary, to learn of the man behind the curtain at Cadmus, Vandal Savage. Bruce approaches Amanda Waller about Savage, but receives no real reply. Waller (unknowingly bugged by Batman) in turn pays a visit to Savage in his Cadmus office and asks if he knew his existence would be revealed if Hawkman’s resurfacing became public knowledge. Savage reveals he was indeed concerned of such and reminds Waller that her greatest strength is in how little the League knows of the depth of Cadmus’ resources. Waller doesn’t like Savage’s smug, pompous demeanor, but sees the logic behind it.
The JLE black-ops probes into Vandal Savage’s activities, first investigating his office and then working their way back as far as they can based on what little information they are able to extract from Cadmus files and servers. Ultimately the JLE learn little more than they were already able to assume, that Savage has been a financial and strategic backer of Cadmus since its inception.

4682038: Vandal feeds Sinestro false information about Cadmus’ Martian fleet. An attempt to commandeer the Poseidon goes awry when Vandal tips Carol Farris (45) off to Sinestro’s move. After a two day long battle Sinestro is driven to exhaustion and captured. Cadmus assumes spare Yellow Lantern rings from Sinestro’s forces, adding to their arsenal. With most of the Yellow Lanterns across the galaxy dead or arrested the Sinestro Corps War ends. Cadmus claims custody of Sinestro, despite demands from the Guardians of Oa claiming that as a rogue Green Lantern Sinestro is their responsibility. Cadmus, now with quite a share in the galaxy and guns to defend themselves, refuse to hand Sinestro over. The JLE try to mediate, but talks break down and it appears the Guardians might actually go to war with Cadmus, but cooler heads prevail amongst them as the Guardians realize the Green Lantern Corps are in no condition to fight another war.
Solomon Grundy becomes a Red Lantern.
Green Lantern John Stewart is elected as the fourth League Chairman.

4722039: George Kent (12) takes on the name Superman II and joins the Justice League.
Tim Drake (19) gives Helena Wayne (10) the title of Robin IV.
Guy Gardner (37) leads a group of heroes against Solomon Grundy in a battle that spills into the Philadelphia’s Amish country. Guy sacrifices himself to defeat Grundy once and for all, his Green Lantern Power Ring flying off to its next owner.
Sinestro is pardoned by the US President under the condition that he serves Cadmus. Sinestro revives the Yellow Lanterns, calling together stray members of the corps left un-captured after the Sinestro Corps War.
To fan the flames a little more, Vandal intentionally allows Hawkman to escape his holding cell and view information about an eminent attack on a JLE ally. Katar Hol escapes and approaches the JLE with this information, trading it for the chance to get a crack at Vandal Savage. Waller suspects Vandal is trying to instigate a war between the JLE and Earth and attempts to approach Batman with an olive branch. Vandal, keeping an eye on Waller, kills her before she can spill the beans to Batman and pins her death on Batman.
When it becomes public that Hawkman has ‘joined’ the JLE public opinion sours and Cadmus gets the fuel it needs to make a move against the JLE.
The US government wants Bruce Wayne's (37) head on a silver platter. The Justice League of Earth is reluctant to hand over one of their own when they know it's a set-up, but Bruce makes the case that surrendering himself would prevent war. After saying goodbye to his family, Bruce and Selina (37) go on the run while the kids are taken care of by the Bat-Family. While the League stonewalls the government saying they too are attempting to track Wayne, Bruce and Selina try to prove his innocence.
Bruce is eventually captured by the Suicide Squad formed by Vandal Savage. Having been unable to get the critical evidence to prove his innocence, Bruce Wayne is set to stand trial.
Harvey Dent acts as Bruce's defense counsel in a very public trial. Despite riveting appeals the evidence continues to pile up against Bruce and he is eventually convicted of conspiracy to murder and the murdering of government official/agent Amanda Waller, thanks in part to the oft meetings he would have with Waller in secret being played against him. Vandal arranges for Bruce to be executed, but the League decides to execute a prison break.
Superman tracks down Vandal Savage and confronts him in battle. Despite being at the height of his strength, Superman is defeated after an hour of battle by Vandal's mixture of his own strength and his advanced Nth armor. Savage leaves Superman for dead and returns to his Hall of Doom. Meanwhile, the League risks its credibility further by tearing through Cadmus, looking for any clues to prove Bruce's innocence. Adam Strange, The Atom, and Cyborg study Cadmus' lab and come across trace signatures of Zeta Beam technology. Tracing the Zeta beams' origins they manage to locate Vandal's true lair, the Hall of Doom.
The Justice League of Earth sends in a team of heroes to invade the massive role playing game dungeon-esque lair that is the Hall of Doom. Battling their way through the Nth Knights over a twenty-four hour period, Vandal's twelve most loyal soldiers, the League eventually finds the evidence they need to prove Bruce's innocence. Meanwhile, a mostly revived Superman makes his way to Vandal's throne room and confronts him in combat again. When the rest of the infiltration team learns that Superman is still fighting Savage and that something is now jamming their ability to 'Zeta-out' of the Hall of Doom, they go to lend him a hand.
Vandal thrashes through the Justice League infiltration team, despite their best efforts. With Amazo and Nth metal-powered armor, as well as other technologies incorporated into his 'Ophiuchus armor' Vandal proclaims he has made himself a god right before having his head smashed into the marble floor by a recently arrived Doomsday via Boom Tube. Doomsday, Wonder Woman, Big Barda, Mister Miracle, and Superman take another crack at Vandal while the injured members of the infiltration team are shuttled back to the Watchtowers. The Atom V (Rhonda Pineda; 20) now equipped with an anti-Amazo weapon created on the request of the Amazo Kid, shrinks down and begins damaging the bonds holding together the Ophiuchus armor. When his armor becomes useless in battle, Vandal Savage sheds his armor and assumes a powerful humanoid Tyrannosaurus Rex-esque form. With everyone battered and bruised the extended fight appears to be falling back to Savage’s favor, despite his injuries. The Atom V and other League members begin trying to destroy the Hall of Doom, to Savage’s chagrin. No longer interested in risking the safety of the Hall of Doom, Vandal teleports the JLE members outside of the Hall and triggers its lift-off sequence. The Hall of Doom blasts off into space from its previous home beneath a lake. Vandal has escaped, but his position with Cadmus is no more.
Bruce Wayne is acquitted and set free thanks to evidence suggesting he was framed.
Bruce Wayne (37) decides that he is finished with being Batman, his demons long exorcised and a few years enjoying himself as a swashbuckling hero logged. Dick Grayson (26) takes over as Batman II.
Vandal Savage uses the Hall of Doom to build a new empire in space. Cadmus connections loyal that were loyal to Vandal, rather than Cadmus, supply Vandal with resources. Some work as double agents to sabotage Cadmus from within.

4882040: Cassandra Cain (21) decides to change her title to Batwoman.
With Vandal Savage no longer calling the shots at Cadmus, Mongul uses War World to begin destroying Cadmus’ space fleets and bases. The remaining Nth Knights still loyal to Cadmus and the Suicide Squad infiltrate and disable War World. Cornered by the Nth Knights, Mongul is forced to abandon War World to Cadmus.
Cadmus begins to strengthen their presence in space using technology reverse engineered from War World. Their forces initially lost against Mongul are quickly replenished. All eyes move to Earth and the Milky Way it has conquered.

4922041:
The role of Chairman of the Justice League is re-titled Commander-in-Chief. John Stewart officially designates Wonder Woman (36), Superman (38), Batman II (28), and the Flash III (29) as generals of their own armies. Carol Farris (48) takes over the space fleet’s operations as Fleet Admiral.

4962042:

4982043: Alexander Luthor-Three and Superboy-Prime reveal themselves as ‘the last remnants of a lost multiverse’. Superboy-Prime, equipped with an armor that draws on negative emotions and energy to heighten his powers, confronts George Kent (16) and tells him he’s a terrible Superboy. George tries to correct Superboy by saying he’s Superman II, but Prime won’t have it. A war of words erupts and George dishes out the ultimate diss “No self-respecting young man would call himself ‘Superboy’” which promptly sends Superboy-Prime into a fury. A battle of fists tears Smallville apart (Lois and the kids were staying at the farm while Metropolis was in the middle of the invasion). George finds himself on the receiving end of a brutal beating before being saved by his old man. Meanwhile, Alex-Three revives the remaining Brainiac drones and warships (their base technology is his, after all) and continues to attack the Earth while putting his master plan into motion.
Superman beats the stuffing out of Superboy-Prime, who shrieks on-and-on about his destiny and other whoopla. Superboy’s whining triggers a quick spike in his in-take of negative energy and his power explodes to new heights.
The Question and a team of heroes find their way into Alex-Three’s hidden dimension and confront him. The Question, who has spent the past few decades following the spike in meta-human wars and deaths, reveals his complete thesis: Alex-Three has been behind it all. The Question and a handful of heroes sacrifice themselves to thwart Alex’s plans. Lex-Z1 confronts Alex and learns that Alex has suspected for some time that he and Superboy weren’t ‘real’, but the ‘lingering will of hatred’ of the originals. Using this to their advantage, Alex developed Superboy’s new battle suit to increase his powers and is drawing on the negative energy produced by the constant wars engulfing this universe to power the machine that will replace this multiverse with his single ‘perfect’ universe. Lex tricks Alex and defeats him, destroying his machine.
An army of meta-humans join Superman in trying to defeat Superboy-Prime. Prime’s power continues to grow. Finally they manage to tear off Prime’s armor, but Prime is too out of control to be stopped. Doomsday arrives on the scene and manages to knock a concussion into Superboy-Prime. With his ability to boost his powers failing him, Superboy-Prime begins to take a painful beating. George tells everyone to leave the rest to him. George gives Prime a tongue lashing for his shortsightedness and his inability to understand even the most basic aspect of Superman: being one’s own man. Amidst tapestry of the events that have made Clark and now George his own man separate from their fathers, George decks Prime with a fist powered by his individuality. Superboy-Prime’s physical form burns away and snuffs out in a fiery display of heat.
After things calm down George admits to his old man he’s thinking of dropping the name ‘Superman II’. Clark reminds him that now that their identities are public knowledge it doesn’t really matter what title he goes by, but adds that considering George’s actions up until now the people might see him as ‘Superman’, either way, and that’s all that matters.
Darkseid, taking advantage of the Earth’s exhausted defenses, begins an all-out offensive. John Stewart is quickly re-elected as Commander-in-Chief of the Justice League of Earth.

5052044: Carol Farris (51) dies after a marathon space fleet battle with Apokolips’ forces drains her of her energy reserves. Carol’s ring returns to Zamaron.

5072045: Clark Kent (42) is declared MIA after dueling with Darkseid (S-class) to the death. Apokolips is destroyed by the two titans’ battle.
Some MacGuffin sought after by Darkseid or whoever gives thousands across the universe, specifically Earth, superpowers. A new age in meta-humans is upon Earth with George ‘Superman II’ Kent (18) leading the force to prevent utter chaos.

5102046: Bart Allen is born to Don Allen (25) and Meloni Thawne.

5122047:

5142048: Weary from ten years of leading the League, John Stewart (49) steps down. After a close race, Dick Grayson (Batman II; 35) beats Donna Troy (35) for the role of Commander-in-Chief.
Imperiex arrives from the future wielding incredible powers. The Imperiex War begins. Superman II and other younger heroes try to rally the meta-humans of Earth to fight united against Imperiex.

5172049: Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) dies in battle against Imperiex’s forces. Donna Troy (36) becomes the new Wonder Woman, inheriting Diana’s battle armor.
Billy Batson (27) begins working at a Fawcett City orphanage.

5202050: Brian Kent sacrifices himself to corrupt Imperiex’s battle armor and allow the JLE to disable Imperiex. Imperiex triggers a Big Bang but Lex Luthor-Z1 teleports Imperiex to another dimension, saving the universe. Nekron is awakened by the Big Bang and his powers begin to grow.

5222051: Nolan Kent (19) leaves home to travel the world.

5242052:

5482063: The Anti-Monitor begins destroying Multiverse-Z. The Monitor gathers heroes to help protect existence. In the first confrontation many are killed and the anti-matter energy destroying the multiverse cannot seemingly be stopped. Following a brief moment of hope, a betrayal from the Monitor leads to even more death and destruction. Clark Kent (60) and those remaining from his generation of heroes die with only Bruce Wayne (61) remaining. Finally, Darkseid reappears and uses the Anti-Life Equation to lead a final attack on the Anti-Monitor and Monitor. With the heads of Life and Anti-Life destroyed Darkseid rules as the sole God of Existence. A multiverse-spanning peace based on fear is born, although Darkseid’s initial presence is scarce.

5502073: George Kent (46) and the Justice League confront Darkseid at his castle at the ‘center of existence’. A final battle unfolds across time and space, neither holding meaning anymore. Orion, using the Dream Machine (a combination of multiple worlds’ technologies, including New Genesis’ technology), channels the will of the people across existence to blast Darkseid with pure will, killing Darkseid and destroying the dark dimension he created to serve as the location of his castle at the center of existence. All of existence is destroyed and in the unending black…only the Dream Machine exists, the residual will power leaking from the machine.

A Time Beyond Comprehension: A small speck of matter floats in the unending black.

A Time Further Beyond Comprehension: The surviving will of the sentient beings of the multiverse recreate it as it was before being destroyed by Darkseid.

,065: Vandal Savage, weary from ten thousand years of godhood, dies in spirit. His body an empty husk, fades into cosmic energy.
