5Athens is sitting on the front step, staff across his lap as he dozed. The last thing he had wanted was to be the only one around the house with Artemis around. Hell hath no fury like an angry Creationist, as they say. He looks up immediately at the sound, shock, horror and concern plastered on his face at the sight of the one armed and wounded Kory. "ARTEMIS!" He screams as loudly as his lungs can manage. Henway leaps from the porch, running at Jack to help carry the girl inside.

9"What the fuck happened?!" He asked, his voice broken as he looked down at the girl he'd quickly fallen for. Athens dropped his staff to better use both arms to hold War up.

11"Conquest" is all Jack says, focusing on staunching the blood flow from both her arm and holding her chest to examine the damage done to her ribs, having done most of this before "Damn...most of her ribs are broken.."

13The ancient Creationist was quick coming down the stairs, her light frame producing heavy foot falls as she moved quick at the sound of panic and alarm, "What's the matter?! What's going on?!" Her words hit the air, only to drop like bricks as she saw Kory, her eyes widening for a split second before she looses a scream, "GET HER TO THE TABLE, NOW." Life sprang to her and she moved faster than she had in decades, physically sprinting to the nearby dining room and sweeping the flower vases and table settings away, leaving a spot open for Kory. Her voice turned to steel now, any panic falling from her as an utter air of seriousness takes over, "One of you, go to the bathroom next to the kitchen and grab my medical supplies from beneath the sink! The other of you, I need a pot of water, and turn the stove all the way up, put a small frying pan on it, Move! NOW!" Her voice raises above any commotion as she waits urgently for them to follow her orders, the stove now luckily having been fixed from Athens incompetency the day prior.

15Jack is quick to act, running and getting a pot of water boiling in a frying pan, nodding to the creationist, giving her a list of Korys injuries "Most ribs broken, likely brain damage too, severed arm obviously."

17Athens moved faster than he should have. His stiches came out of place as he sprinted over to the bathroom, the terrible pain of the movement bringing tears to his eyes as he pushed himself forward. An act of sheer will power, the wounded boy stormed through the kitchen and into the restroom. Henway took all the medical supplies he could find and hefted them into the dining room, collapsing the moment he put them on the table. "FUCK!" He cried out, now on his knees.

19If Artemis noticed or cared about Athens pain, she didn't show it, quickly grabbing any and all gauze she could and packing it around and into the homemade tourniquet that Jack had supplied. Placing her fingers to Kory's neck to feel for a pulse, the Creationist moved her palm to Kory's chest, placing it square over her heart and relaxing, as some of her vast reserve of energy flowed into Kory, much like it's used in making a spark. The Energy served to hopefully keep the Aspect of War around long enough for her to perform any form of procedure. The ribs could wait, she didn't have time to check for a puncture with the much larger gaping wound in the place of a missing arm. After a moment she pointed behind her, "The pan should be hot, bring it to me and then bring the pot of water afterwards! Move!" The command in her voice was a mixture of maternal instinct, and the true power a being her age could draw about in her words, filling the air in a natural match to Rome's Oration.

23Athens stumbled off with Jack, significantly slower but still moving as quickly as he was able. He returned with the pan.

25Ripping the gauze and anything covering Kory's lost arm away from the gaping wound, Artemis rips the pan from Athens grip, careful not to touch the actual near red hot iron of it, taking only the handle. Blood was already accumulating on her hands just from moving the materials, but she cared little as with a free hand she lifted the stub into the air to keep it off the table, with her lips barely moving as she spoke softly to Kory, "I'm really sorry for this, hon. . ." With a swift action, she presses the hot base of the pan onto the wound, pressing with all her might as the heat burned the flesh and cauterized the wound, the damage of such a shoddy procedure being able to be addressed later as she worked.
26Throwing the pan to the ground when she's done with it, very unconcerned at this point about the damage to her floor, she grabs the pot of water and sets it down quickly, sloshing some over the sides as she lifts Kory, placing the now horribly burned stump into the water to hopefully keep the burns from being too horrendous at this point, "Hold her up!" Pushing while she can to keep the girl in a somewhat elevated position, Artemis moves behind her to place her ear to her back, listening for any uneven or pained breathing, hoping beyond hope that there was no punctures in her lungs from the broken ribs.

29Athens grabbed the nearest solid object he could find and shoved it between Kory's teeth moments before the pan made contact. He then slipped his hand into hers, allowing her to grip it. "I'm here." He told her, a pained expression on his face. His electric blue eyes stared down at the wounded War. He felt...powerless. He nodded to Artemis now, helping hold Kory up with what little strength he had left.(edited)

33"Okay. . .Okay. . .set her down gently. I can't heal a lost arm but I can fix the ribs and any internal damage. . ." Helping ease the girl down onto the table, to avoid paining her any from the nearly all broken ribs, Artemis takes a very deep breath, "I'm no healer, but I can certainly give this a try." Placing both palms on the girls chest, Artemis' eyes shut tight. She knew various forms of magic from her time walking the earth, and while she was not too specially skilled in any particular school, having focused mostly on her creation, she knew enough to field a wide variety of uses. Healing, of course, was not usually an easy magic, and the amount of damage done to the girl would certainly be hell for the Creationist, but those thoughts didn't cross her mind, though many did, 'Damnit, I just need to make this work, Diana will be fine, I'm sure, but Kory. . .Kory needs my help. Both of them. . .both of my daughters need my help, damnit.' In her mind, the words rang true, even if they may be a bit skewed in her maternal mindset at the point, a sudden white glow overtaking her as she did all she could, her energy being burned away at a vastly uneven transfer rate to repair the girls ribs and the horrible burns that it had taken to cauterize her wound. An Aura seemed to surround her, loose strands of blue hair gently floating upward as it did before dropping back to her shoulders. The entire room seemed to fill with power before it cut off, all the healing the Creationist could do done as she staggered back, falling into a chair and nearly collapsing past it, eyes opening only a little as she breathed heavily, "It's. . .I. . .I've. . .Got no more. . .to give. . . How. . .How. . .Does she look. . . ?" Her labored speech was hard to get out, the amount she'd given away just to make the girls breaks and pains go away enough to have created something bigger than most.

37Kory's pulse and breaths were back to being normal, if he were to check, most of her ribs had been healed, though a good deal of them were still broken as well as one of her legs and her stub was still nastily burnt, though not as bad as before.

41Athens stared on in abject horror. He couldn't do anything to help her. Despite all of his power, his might and anger, the young Thunderer could do nothing as he watched Artemis pour everything she had into saving War. He stood to the side, keeping Kory's hand in his own to give what little support he was able to the pained and wounded Kory. "You'll be okay..." He whispered, mostly to himself. "You'll be okay..." His broken voice barely carried as he thought about the worst possible outcome. He tried to think of some way he could help, but healing magic was his worst field. He knew basically nothing. 'Useless...' Repeated in Henway's head over and over. He'd felt that way since his battle with Sett. He could barely save Kory then, and only just. And ever since he had been locked up in Artemis's palace, unable to go when Thune and the others attacked Samuel. Now Athens watched as the woman he...well, as Kory's life faded before him. He had to hope. Nay, pray, that Artemis could save her. The final flash of power and the Creationist's following collapse told Athens he would soon find an answer to his questions. A weak smile crossed his lips upon hearing War was alive. "Thank you." He rasped to Artemis. "Thank you."

43In a Mirror to her daughter on the otherside of Earth, Artemis was nearly exhausted to the point of keeling over, lifting a hand tiredly to wave him off, "It. . wasn't for you. . .it was Kory. . .Glad she's okay. . ."

50Athens is leaning against the bed. His sleeping body was propped up against its wooden frame, a slight weez coming from the boy each time he breathed. Down in Artemis's living room, Thune had practically collapsed onto one of her couches after removing his armor and blood and sweat drenched clothing. The giant wore only a pair of shorts, to offer some decency for the many other people around the manor. His broken and bloody armor was thrown about the room haphazardly, though he slept with a single hand on Golden Dawn. The Thunderer tossed and turned in his sleep, near constantly effected by nightmares throughout the night.

52The Matron of the house sat in her courtyard, feet dangling over the cliff as she slowly sipped on her coffee. She had woke up feeling like death and didn't feel a whole lot better even after an hour, the energy wasted to heal Kory even that remote amount was incredibly vast and absolutely burned her out. It was hard enough to stay awake when the trio arrived from their, thank everything, successful mission, and it was only once she knew that they were all comfortable and asleep did she herself pass out, falling completely still for hours in her bed. With the sun rise coming up behind her, the sun glistened off the ocean waters ahead and she sighed. So much had happened, so much and she was just so simply glad it was over.

56Athens' eyes shoot open at the sound of her cough. A ball of energy appears in his hand near instinctively, sparking and destructive. The attack fades at Kory's soft touch against his chest, however. The young Aspect slowly opened his eyes and looked up at her, smiling weakly as he did so. "Hey beautiful." The blonde rasped, sliding his hand into hers as he reached up to kiss her. If he was at all bothered by her lack of a second limb, he didn't show it.

60"No kidding." Athens half grunted, half chuckled. He pulls himself off the ground and crawls into the bed without invitation. Almost subconsciously, the Aspect of Supercells moves to lay to to her left. Henway embraces the girl now, his chest heaving with the great emotional weight he felt. 'Still powerless. Still fucking useless.' Henway told himself over and over. "I'm so sorry." He whispers, keeping his grip extremely gentle so as not to disturb her injured ribs.

62A gentle knock comes at Kory's door, before the white haired Aspect creaks it open, looking like absolute hell but with a tired smile on her face, and a tray of food and drinks for the two bed-ridden lovebirds. A large swath of her usually smooth and silky hair is waved and twisted from sleeping, a few strands just sticking obviously out of place. Large dark bags beneath her eyes make her look like she'd gone on a bender, and her fist sports some nice bruises on the knuckles but she walks in with some energy, her gray sweatpants swishing beneath the large baggy sleep shirt she'd crashed in, "Hey. . .sorry if I'm interrupting, figured you two could use some food." The tray was laden down with french toast, bacon, eggs, water and orange juice, and smiled absolutely divine, something the Creationist had whipped up before going and sitting outside alone. Diana's eyes softened as she gazed at Kory, a frown pulling at her lips but she refused to show it. She'd seen Kory last night after returning, how ever briefly, and she could feel guilt welling up in her stomach, perhaps if she had gone, it would of been herself and not Kory, or perhaps she could of saved her it. . .weighed on her.

66Athens lets go of Kory when Diana enters, giving the girls their space. He sits quietly in the bed now, his eyes downcast out of shame. He remembered the terrible things he'd said to Artemis about the girl who'd, from what he could guess, had helped saved Kory's life. "Hey.." He greets her quietly, rubbing his arm.

68She shoots her light smile to Athens as she moves over to Kory, popping the legs up on the tray and setting it before her on the bed, "Well. . .I woke up with my face into the opposite side of the bed that I went to sleep on, thought I wet the bed, turns out I just sweat most of the moisture out of me all of last night, I stood up and everything cracked, and then everything hurt. I feel like I was clobbered over the head several times by something blunt, and I have a strong urge to die." She spoke with some fluency in her voice, making her little joke feel quite light and airy as if she were still peppy and chirpy as per usual, though she wasn't kidding about how sore she was, every movement hurt vastly from expelling that much energy, it made her entire body like it ran all the marathons ever, and it was no picnic. Suddenly though, she opens her eyes, as if surprised at something before moving closer to Kory and kissing her on the forehead, before pulling away with a blush, "My mom wanted me to give you that. . .she's weird you know. . .Today is her quiet day, doesn't really want to interact, so she's just going to be outside most of the time, said she was so glad you're alright."

Her words, not mine."

80Opting to collect himself outside, yet still away from the Land Lady, Augustus rested out front, sitting in the warm Sun light. The Aspect of Rome had de-aged significantly since the other day, going from 76 to 42. His hairs threatened to whiten, and he had a beard that he couldn't rid himself of, without a razor. But the Aspect of Rome felt strong again, capable of returning to his villa, returning to his duties soon enough. One issue remained. 'Sett' The Aspect of Rome had no love for Kory, but he made a deal with the nasty Aspect of Illusions to straighten out the alliance they had worked out. And now that Samuel was no more, he had to keep his end of the bargain.

82The Roman rose, wearing a simple orange and red tunic, before entering the house. There was one last part of the deal that needed to be verified before he would move on either Kory or. . Diana. The Aspect who he had foolishly kept hidden. He should have reported her to the world immediately. He knew how dangerous she was from the first glance into her eyes. But the display of power, not directly, which only led Augustus to imagine what she was truly capable of, was other worldly. Her own admission to being made better than everyone else was frighteningly truthful. When the time came, Rome would act against the girl. He had come to appreciate her in some forms, but she was Artemis' daughter. The Creationist would one day use Diana and any other Major Aspects she had planned to defeat Rome, either politically or in battle.

84The trip to the courtyard was quick and quiet. Rome stood far behind Artemis, gathering his thoughts for minutes on end before making himself known to her. He had a sneaking suspicion she was aware of him the entire time, though. "We need to have a talk before I go." He started.

86"Alright." Artemis' voice is slightly hoarse as she spins around, her legs crossed with her butt precariously close to the edge, though she seems not to mind. The coffee goes down hard in her throat and she winces slightly before speaking quickly again, "But I'm not at all in the mood for bullshit, Augustus, just speak directly and honestly or you can just get the hell out." Her words were heavy, gruff and serious and her eyes told the man she was quite serious before she descended her gaze to her drink, nursing it once more.

88Diana stepped back, a light chuckle being produced from her throat as she saw Athens move, "Hey. . Hey, let me handle any of that. If you guys need anything just tell me. Don't go overexerting yourselves and hurting yourselves more. Sucks being in bed for a day let alone a couple weeks, so don't push it that far."

92'Where do I start?' Augustus would normally be composed significantly better than this. But the last few days had taken a toll on him, both mentally and physically. "Kory Mendel still needs to be examined, thoroughly, to make sure that Sett isn't hiding in some far off corner in her mind. I made a deal with that man to free Kory of his presence, but before I deliver my end, I want to make sure he isn't trying to cheat me." Augustus explained. The Roman decided he would not lead with Diana, but would tackle the easier of the two first.

94The Fair Haired Aspect patted Kory softly on the shoulder, "Yeah, I know you will. But right now you've got a pretty comfortable bed to be laying in." Pushing her shoulder lightly, she gave the girl a wink, before her eyebrows raised and she bit her tongue softly, all before very unsubtly motioning at the young Thunderer with her gaze, "But hey! I'll leave you two to eat, if you need anything just holler, my room is right down the hall, I'll hear." She slips out as she speaks, closing the door softly behind her to leave the two in privacy.
95Artemis nodded thoughtfully, "I'll take care of that today sometime, as much as I'd rather give her another day of rest. I'm a bit exhausted after putting quite a bit into keeping her alive so I do need some rest before attempting that. Not all of us can age so gracefully as you do." Her dry comment has a little humorous snark in it, making a vague wave at him and his ability to age backwards after his own immense strain, "What deal did you make, anyhow? Sett, from all I've seen of his handiwork. . .is not a man you deal with."

97Athens gave an exasperated sigh before nodding his head, accepting that he should stay off his feet. It pained him more to return to Kory's side empty handed than any physical trauma could. "F-fine. But if you need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask. Okay?" Henway did his best to sound commanding. It came off more pathetic than intimidating, however. His cheeks reddened even further at the younger girl's obvious teasing. 'When are they going to stop doing that?' He groaned internally. 'Its not...That big of a deal...'

103"There are some people you need to deal with in this world, Artemis. Samuel is an example of that. They're too dangerous to be left alone." Augustus shifted, sitting on the ground, resting on his knees. He looked at Artemis, his exhaustion betraying him as he spoke with less artificial flavor in his voice. "Sett's the type that you must make deals with. He's tied to Nabb, and Nabb's not a mad dog. It's a valuable angle to force on Sett. Should he have rejected my deal, he'd have to contend with Nabb's bothersome self, most likely. The implication alone forces men to fold." The Roman spoke from experience. Bribing chiefs from Germania, hiring Armenians to revolt against their kings, and leading an empire that spanned hundreds of ethnicities requires the man to develop a deep understanding of people.

105"The deal's. . Personal." Augustus could not reveal the conditions of it. Artemis would never let him leave the island, if he had. "Information pertaining  to something I've kept private for a long time." He paused, scratching his chin, not use to the facial hair. "The sooner Kory's checked, all of us will benefit. 109Artemis raises her brow as he speaks, setting the mug down next to her on the stone tiling that lined much of the Courtyard, "Yes, I'll be sure to do that before you leave. . .provided you have a night departure." She doesn't peel her eyes away from the man, as if she was looking into him as she spoke, her fingers drumming on her knee, "You're getting awfully comfortable if that's all you'd have to say. .  .What more do I need to know, Augustus?" A little gesture with her hand in an open palm to draw attention to his actual kneeling on the ground.

111"I know we've been at this for less than a week..." Athens begins. He moves Kory's head, holding up her chin so he could look her in the eye. "But you can tell me anything, okay? Don't be afraid to...unload. It tears me up inside seeing you like this. I've never felt so...fucking useless, Kory. So please. Let me help you." Henway's plea came off as slightly selfish, but he meant every word.

She slowly looks down at the stump, her eyes slightly wide as she suddenly breaks down, crying profusely.

115"I can stay for a few hours more." Augustus replied to her first comment, taking his time to find the proper words for the second. It was difficult to outright say what he knew to be true of Diana, and of Artemis' intentions for the girl. The Roman took his time, looking down the cliff at the ocean, letting the breeze pass by him, before finally speaking up again. "You have a daughter." He began, a place as good as any. "I'd congratulate you, if it were under different circumstances." The conversation was only going to drop from this point out, but Augustus was prepared for yet another heated debate with the woman. He was just pleased that Thune was passed out still.

Her manipulation of her element is impressive, I won't go around denying her praise. But I've also witnessed and experienced first hand how large her magical reserves are. How quickly she's capable of improving herself, even a day after battle."* Rome paused and held his hand high, hoping to keep Artemis from talking as he mulled over the next few words.

121Athens wrapped his arms around the smaller girl, rubbing her shoulders as he did so. "Its okay." He reassured her. "Its okay to cry. I'lll...You won't be like this forever, Kory. I'll move heaven and earth to make you whole again. I promise. I'll do everything I can for you. Because you deserve...better than this shit hand life has dealt you. You're strong, Kory. Stronger than me. Stronger than Artemis. Stronger than Thune. You can...take this, alright? I believe in you." Henway whispered his convictions into the woman's ear, his voice surprisingly steady and strong as he did so.

125As the word 'daughter' came into conversation, Artemis raised her  hands to begin rubbing her temples violently, trying to keep a headache at bay but also in an attempt to keep herself from loosing her cool on the Roman. "Augustus, I made Diana after nearly ninety years wallowing in pity because I almost died at the hands of Romulus, and I couldn't do a damn thing. I have all this reserve of power, no fucking outlet." Her tone was incredibly harsh, one the Creationist almost never used, her usually peaceful words striking the air like a discordant bell, "I was for the most part alone, I was broken, I spent years planning it out, and she came about. I keep telling myself I didn't make her to be anything but my daughter. . .that's a lie and I know it, at the time she was to be my insurance. She was my daughter who'd ensure that power of mine could be wielded effectively but. . .That fell out of my mind when I put that spark in that shell and she became MY daughter, not just. . .a creation. . .Flesh and blood and sweat and tears." Her words, while still roiling in obvious aggression were a stream of her consciousness, coming out with little flow, "I didn't know where it would lead, but I knew after the fact she was more in danger than she was capable of being a danger, so I've kept her here. . .away from the likes of the others and yourself. Yet I guess you handily found out that secret in record time of being at my home for such a short period. Now. . .Anything more to say about MY Daughter?"

Why don't you make a new Aspect of Storms? In two decades, Thune can retire." Rome hoped she was getting the point across. "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and you made something that threatens our future. Aspects in all. We are no longer Gods. You're the God who's able to make superior versions of ourselves. Do you not see how that is daunting?"*

She can serve the council well, she can help keep the balance, keep the order, she can help maintain her element, and she can hopefully grow to by my age and four times any wisdom I hold now, because she can. . .Because I made her to be able to. I don't know what to give you or tell you to reassure you that I will not dabble in the creation of another Major Aspect. But it won't be Diana."

The boy's thoughts mingled on possible futures, and inspirations that could hopefully drag Kory out of the dark place she was currently in. "I wonder what you'll create next...Maybe a dragon of your own. Or a mighty, living mountain like Ryluth. Or maybe your own Anu. Hell, why not something so unique there isn't anything to compare it to? Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be grand..." Athens voice changed now. To a tone that's more serious. "But to do all that...You'll need to move on. You just gotta...take it and get back up. Right? That's the only way. Gotta think about all those things that you have to live for. Dwell on them. Remember them in your darkest moment. Even when your muscles ache and your bones are broken, those thoughts will give you the strength to stand up. To stand up and...Keep fighting. Let's be real. This won't be the last terrible thing to happen to us. To you. But it won't be the last good thing, either, unless you let it. It didn't appear to be the first time she was arguing this, if how quickly she pulled some of these points out was any indication. "No. Perhaps you don't make another Major Aspect this century. Or the next. But you will eventually make another. There will come a point when the world accepts Diana, and you feel encouraged to continue. And that's the moment what I'm fearful of.  You have this power and there will come a time when the social pressures will evaporate, can you honestly say that you wouldn't make another Major Aspect today if everything was fine? If the Council of Aspects couldn't care less?" He stared into her eyes, trying to appeal to her rational side.

Augustus began to crack his fingers, not intending to insinuate a fight, but merely another method of keeping his mind rolling, the constant action helping the Roman think quickly. "I will bring this before the other Aspects as soon as Kory's cleared, after you examine her." He clarified. "I will speak honestly on Diana, her virtues and vices. And then I will propose that Diana be taken into the care of the Council. Our whole collective will decide what shall be done with her."(edited)

No. If my word is not good enough for the council, then I have nothing more to give. 152Augustus scrunched his nose up, the anger he felt towards the Creationist only multiplying with every word she spoke. He hadn't expected her to change her mind, but even if he could sew some doubt in her mind, he was sure that it would collapse when he returns with armed men at her doorstep. There would be no need to spill her blood or anyone's, if she could be brought down from her pedestal and see the reality of the situation. The world didn't need someone like Thune, the world especially didn't need someone who continually pushed the bounds of power in her creations, as well. "The entire assembly will determine her fate. She will be given a fair chance. You're popular still among many of the Aspects, I doubt there will be a call for Diana's execution." He told her slowly, trying to control his tone and keep himself civil, but it was getting challenging.

If you become a threat, if you do something that disturbs a majority of our people and the balance of power that hangs so precariously in the air, then you will be stopped. 156The woman was growing as angry as the Roman, but of course she took no precautions to hide it, her face having grown dark as he talked, her thoughts drifting to a possible future assembly where the likes of the Old Emperor before her could sway the vote as he always did, talk his sweet nothings and capture the minor aspects and their support as he always did, it was a sickening display that reminded her of Romulus' quick rise to prevalence a century before, but of course he did not use mind tricks to garner his followers. Still sitting rigidly straight, the woman slowly shakes her head, eyes boring straight into the skull of Rome before her.

158"I don't care what you 'doubt', there's still a chance that it could be called upon, and I know I could expect no support from you or many others in this matter. . .She doesn't have a fighting chance standing trial and you know it. So don't give me that special treatment shit, Augustus, she won't get FAIR treatment regardless. I will not be allowing this to happen, do you understand me? I don't care what you've to say about it, I'm not giving up my little girl to these fear mongering thoughts." That natural command came rushing into her voice once more, though it was a moot point against the man before her, she knew his mind was as set as hers was, but she refused to give him any reason but what she said to get up into arms about it. She wanted to leap forward and pummel the man with any and all strength she had, her usual peace of mind slipping away as the conversation continued, but she did not plan to give into it.

160"I know you have no respect for this Council, what is suppose to keep peace between us." The comment was meant to be scathing, but the Roman continued quickly, giving little thoughts into it. "But the existence of your daughter isn't just your matter. What don't you see about that? She is, for all purposes, now the burden of the world to put up with. A new Major Aspect who's raw power rivals Thune's. . That's game changing, Artemis." Augustus paused, now letting his words sink into her thick skull. Truthfully, Augustus had a feeling that, given time, Diana would grow to be just another part of the community. She would have her own moments of destruction and unrelenting emotion, as all Major Aspects did in their youth. But to allow Artemis to get away with the creation of the Winter Aspect just opened the gate for her, and God forbid Kory in the late future, to make more. It was impossible to predict the nature of these Major Aspects, they couldn't be controlled, and if there were enough of them, Augustus knew they'd realize it, too.

I'm sure your tender words will sway the hearts of many to at least keep Diana alive, likely in the control of the Council, but alive still." The blond man gave way to another short interlude during his speech. Making sure to not overwhelm Artemis, and have her miss his key points. "What do you want to happen? The world accept that your powers could be limitless, and that this is a good shift in the world? That there's no reason to fear it or that it could be dangerous? That's childish."

Her words were genuinely surprised, but the surprise swelled within her as she fought back once more, pointing a finger to the man, "I'm sorry you're so cold and calculated that you've forgotten what it is to love another being, or feel any positive emotion that isn't just stewing in your own self-righteousness, but I don't give a damn what you or the council have to say about her. I don't give a DAMN if she is an unrelenting threat, which she clearly isn't, and I don't give a damn what you have to say about me. You can't possibly understand where I'm coming from with this, it doesn't matter." Her words come out swiftly falling over one another as she shows pretty much anything the Roman has put out has hit against her and bounced off with little impact as she continues forth on her own rampage of self righteousness, albeit not knowing it as such, "The existence of my daughter IS my matter because I'm the one effected by it. I Am the one who will have to sit through you holding a witch trial and sit idly by while you BURN my daughter on a FUCKING Stake because you are a god damned fear monger, and Thune is stuck in his ways of old and the minors all fall in line with your bullshit enchanting words that you will vouch as 'Fair and honorable', even though those words come with a venom. No. No, leave my house Augustus. Get off my island, I promise you I will make a check up of Kory's mental state, my word is my word, but no. This conversation is done and I'd suggest you make haste on your departure."

166Augustus rose to his feet in a quick fashion, anger now clearly displayed on his face, unlike any time before, the true rage that he kept boiled beneath his skin was revealed. The snarl he wore was not unlike that of a wolf as he took a step closer to Artemis, wanting to do nothing more than throttle her for her false accusations, for her half truths. She knew nothing of the man and yet made these remarks so openly. He had the decency to call it as it was, mayhaps going too far for the last remark. But there was no other way to put it, for Artemis to believe Diana would be accepted in the world was a naive assumption. She had the experience in battling other Aspects, in the primitive forms of unity they had before the Council and Assembly, and now she wished to go against the grain with a child that wielded Thune's awe inspiring power.

168Augustus pulled on his toga, gripping it closely to his body as he kept silent. Glaring daggers at the woman. It would be easy to lash out at her. It would be easy to throw her off the island, just as easy as it would've been to break Diana's neck when he stumbled into her room days earlier. The temptation was rising, but ultimately the roman spoke, favoring words over actions. "Send forth Anu when you've performed the scan on Kory. I'll have news to update you on, and certainly you will want to stay informed for when the trial is." He turned sharply on his heel, only after savoring the look Artemis had on her face. He would remember that when he lectured the entire assembly in less than a week's time. As he was responsible for turning the obnoxious Aspect into a miserable and sobbing wreck.  The Roman spared the others little time as he stormed through the House, they all were gathered in a room off to the side. Augustus didn't bother straying from his path, going out to the front where the salt circle he made days ago stood still.
169In a matter of moments he was back in his Tuscany villa, back in his office. The entire grounds were vacant, not since the attack on Samuel's first fort had he requested his staff be present with him. The shield he ordered on the location likewise was still active, to his fortune. With a deep sigh, Augustus rose from his chair, looking over at the wreckage from the monster fox, something he still had yet to fix. "Later' He told himself. The mental strain of being around those people was showing. He needed a few bottles of wine to calm himself, and a long nights rest. The Roman moved swiftly into the kitchen, grabbing a chilled bottle, popping it open and pouring himself a glass.

171A purple mist drifts into the office, not staying long before it is replaced by the form of the Aspect of Chaos, who walks up to Rome's desk, tipping his fedora to the man, "Good evening, Augustus." As usual, Nabb looked and spoke with only the kindest of inflections, though most Aspects would know that this did not mean he had friendly intentions.

173The Roman heard the noise from the kitchen, wandering back in to see Nabb. He was at first startled by his sudden appearance, nearly causing the wine to flow over the rim of the glass. The Aspect of Chaos wasn't a person he enjoyed seeing, or ever wanted to see. He was in a similar category to Thune in terms of threat level, while being as dangerous to the world as Samuel. The only thing he had over both those individuals was the fact he could be reasoned with, at least up until now. "Nabb." Augustus exchanged greetings, sipping on his wine, desperately needing it if he were to enter into yet another discussion with a person who he had little to no positive feelings towards. "I just opened up a Chardonnay. Care for a glass?"

No. But your pet was sure to inform you that both will appear before the Council and Aspect's Assembly, where the Aspects will decide if they're guilty or not." Augustus looked over Nabb, not feeling particularly safe with the deranged man in his house. "Kory will get off cleanly. It will be my word versus hers, which will cancel the trial after some debate. Artemis and Diana will have a harder time, and one or both will find themselves in the Kral." Another gulp from the glass broke the Roman's words. "Though, perhaps Diana will be shipped off to a different prison. One specifically for her."

I had no idea that you had some love for Artemis." The Princeps of Rome strongly believed that Artemis may physically try to stop the trial. But she alone didn't have the power to do that. Not before every other Aspect in the council and assembly. "She won't be harmed. No one will be harmed." He said slowly. "Justice doesn't require a party to be injured, especially in the chance that they're proven to be innocent."

"And what reason do I have to believe I can trust you, Nabb? I have none. You're dangerous. ." Augustus didn't know if Nabb even belonged to the Aspect's Council. He was never present, and he was always an antagonistic force, since before Augustus' time.

While he didn't like Artemis and was close to stating he hated Thune, there was little reason to switch sides and help Nabb out. Even if there was a short term benefit for Rome, it would quickly turn upside down when the Aspect's needed Artemis' wisdom or Thune's strength. "Suffer how? Again, I would be shooting myself in the foot if helped you kill either of them. And I need something to hold over you, in the event that you do go against my wishes."

193'How pompous.' Augustus could have the council move after Nabb under almost any crime. He was a risk that they tried to turn a blind eye towards, believing fighting him would do more damage. But if The Roman so intended to, the dogs of war would be let loose at any meeting. It required only a handful of carefully crafted words. Still, the idea that Nabb was hiding a dirty secret, something that Augustus could use himself, working around the Council, peaked his interest. But it was good to first establish that Nabb's scenario may not happen, so the Aspect wouldn't be so enraged in such occurrence. "She may yet be set free, or fostered with another Aspect. Don't seek that outcome solely." He chide him. "But. . If this information is truthful, which I will do my best to inspect, and if there is a situation where violence is needed. . I will make sure that you're capable of assisting the Aspects without any actions taken against you."

Did the Aspect of Chaos have some capability to survive on Mars that Rome was unaware of? It seemed impossible to the man. "And what world is this?" He pressed on. He didn't know the original Aspect of War well, but he was from one of the older generations, making him a formidable opponent if he returned to the world. Especially if he acted anything like his replacement. "And what reason did you do this for?"

215Rome certainly was not fine with leaving his villa to vanish off to the Aspect's hidden palace. Especially after he said he took out political enemies not a minute ago. But. . The possibilities of a whole new world opened up before him was too much. "Do it quickly." Threatening Nabb was not worth the effort. Both knew who would win in a straight forward fight, Augustus could do nothing but go along with Nabb's will, hoping that the cost of allying with the Emperor outweighed the risks.

217Augustus feels a tingle as his body is converted into a purple mist, he loses the sense of touch and then he blacks out, an almost dream-like state coming to the man before he is suddenly snapped back to his senses as his body reforms, he now finds himself inside a rather nice room in Nabb's palace, though the room itself is bare, circles for magical rituals adorn the floor and several walls as well as a bookcase of spellbooks and anything you could require for a ritual, such as candles and incense strewn haphazardly about the room.  Nabb immediately walks to the bookcase, yanking a book off quickly and beginning to set up some candles.(edited)

The name seemed familiar, but the Roman couldn't place his tongue on where he had heard it from. "What specific tools are required to open a portal to it?" He took in the room around him. It appeared to largely be a simple set up, at least at face value. Augustus eyed the book Nabb took from the shelf carefully, trying to make out any name he could on it's spine. "And what is Avalon like?"

Nabb pointed to it now, it was actually three circles staggered inside one another and a large triangle filling up the largest one, "Candles on each point of the triangle, the correct incantation, and the hard part, a soul anchor." Nabb finishes setting up the candles and he sets the book aside, he reaches into a compartment of the bookshelf and draws out two vials, one empty and the other full of blood, he tosses the empty vial to Augustus, "Please go ahead and fill that up. If you wish to know what Avalon is like, their world does not have natural Aspects, all of its inhabitants shared the same amount of magical power, however their most powerful mage created a spell to turn their greatest heroes into artificial Aspects. Oh, and just so you aren't caught off guard, yes, everybody that lives there does have wings."

223"Fill this up? Are you kidding me?" Augustus froze the vial in mid air, grabbing it at his leisure. The quick information given to the Roman made him distrust this more and more, but the odds of this Avalon being real presented such a unique possibility for the Roman, he couldn't pass it up. 'Here's to crossing the Rubicon.' An arrow forced its way out of his palm and into his clutches. The Roman begrudgingly stabbed it into his opposite forearm, placing the vial below the arrow, letting the blood trickle down into it. "So everyone is Metahumans, just with the same potential, apart from their Aspects?"

235The news was enough to bring a wide, earnest smile to Rome's lips. He was practically a God in this world. He could enter freely and do as he wanted, without fearing the consequences. They couldn't kill him there. The rush of power made him shiver. He would be sure to exploit the news to the best of his abilities, starting with worming his way into whatever organization these Avaspects had, if they indeed had one. "Oh do tell." Rome had no idea what secret Nabb would reveal to him now. But the existence of Avalon was enough to accept Nabb's deal.

241Nabb picks up the spellbook, he reads aloud an incantation written in a language that sounded just like jibberish, as soon as he finishes the circle around them glows with a blinding light and Augustus loses all of his senses, being alone with his thoughts for what feels to the man like years before everything slowly comes back, he now finds himself sitting in a field, but everything seems... wrong. The grass and foliage are snow white and the sky itself is a bright purple, two orange suns sit in the sky, the entire place feeling completely alien.

243Augustus struggles to take in oxygen, the experience worse than any other, when it comes to travel. But upon sight of the world, he grins. he smiles wide at the white flora, at the two suns, and at the purple colored sky. "The fact this exists is a wonder." Augustus folded his hands in front of him, a small white aura popping around him. "Nabb?" He turned, looking for the Aspect. "Are we close to where War is? I would love to meet with him, if only briefly."

"It's startling to find such a place like this. . So open and unknown of our presence." Rome grinned, already imagining what uses this dimension could have for him.

251"Interesting." Augustus wanders into the clearing, trying to find what he'd expect to be a cell or a cave with an Aspect locked behind some magical barrier. "And how do you keep him here without the Avalon Aspects finding him?"

253"Like this." Nabb whistles and the ground in the clearing falls out from beneath the two, causing them to fall into a deep tunnel before closing back up above them, cloaking the two in complete darkness as they fall.

255They don't fall far as an invisible platform catches them, leaving Augustus to glare at where he believed Nabb was. "I will not be falling anywhere. We'll take this slowly." The platform took the two the rest of the journey, the Aspect of Rome being rudely reminded of who's company he was with .

257"I mean, I have a safety mechanism..." Nabb pouts that he didn't get to show off the entrance he had spent weeks designing. As they get close to the bottom, bright lights line the walls, showing a door at the bottom for them to exit the drop.

259The invisible platform vanishes once they're close enough to fall safely. "Another time, then." The Roman brushed off Nabb's child like amusement easily. His mind was spent on more important matters. War was here. The original War. Who suddenly became slightly more valuable to the Roman Emperor. The world itself seemed like a lost paradise, just ready for the First Emperor to make his mark on the world. He wouldn't waste much time, either. They had no idea what he was capable of, and that would make it easier to infiltrate their society, and bend them to his benefits. The only issue was, it appeared that the act of existing in Avalon wasn't permanent, if Nabb's words meant anything earlier. This was just a vessel, and he could be sent back once sustaining enough damage or the vial shattered. "Come now, we'll have to be quick. As much as I want to explore the world, I need to get back and organize the next gathering." He moved to the door, throwing it open in haste.

261inside is a single cell, it hangs freely above what seems to be a bottomless chasm and Augustus can see them now, citizens of Avalon standing guard, their wings are large and translucent with colorful designs, much akin to a fairy's, they wear plate armor though it doesn't appear to weigh them down, they all carry spears. Illuminated by a single dim light, Augustus can see the original Aspect of War, his skin is lightly tanned, his hair is a light brown and his eyes are a blood red, he is shaggy with hair that hangs down covering all of one eye and most of the other and a beard of similar fashion, he glares at the Aspect of Rome and his captor silently.

263Augustus takes a moment to look at the guards, their wings posing as a passing interest before settling on the Aspect. "It's been a long time, War." The Roman smiled, looking down the chasm before meeting the Ancient Aspect's blood red gaze. "The world's been just as violent without you, in the chance you were worried we would give up our ways." Augustus felt a rush of strength run through him as he observed the captured Aspect. "Is this all now, then? I've seen enough, and I'm ready to return to our world, Nabb."

267Augustus gives a lingering stare to the Aspect of war, the lips of his were moving slightly, but no sound came from him. None that the guards could hear, but the Aspect of War heard them as if they were the only noise around. "You'll have to forgive this reunion, War. We'll have to see about getting you down from those chains soon. All in good time, though." He smiled, waving the man goodbye, what could be seen as a taunt, given his giddy and obnoxious behavior so far, before vanishing.

269Augustus feels a sudden rush as everything around him changes in an instant, he is back to sitting in the circle in Nabb's palace. Nabb stands up, blowing out the candles, he grabs a copy of the incantation and Rome's vial of blood, holding both out to the man, "Any questions about the ritual to enter?"

A white bubble surrounded both of them, repeating the word's Nabb said when they first entered, cutting off early to prevent them from accidentally reentering the world. "That was an enlightening experience, Nabb. And I believe your presence, in the event of violence, will go unnoticed by the Council."
