6 The interior of the bus is quite spacious, the center of the three levels open so one can see all the way up or down from top to bottom. This also allows a large chandelier to hang from the ceiling, swinging wildly when the bus takes a quick turn, which is often. The stairs are at the back, while the driver and conductor are stationed at the front. Numerous windows overlook the streets outside. Candles burn in brackets along the walls, providing soft illumination. There are no seats per se, but the bus is quite full of available beds to camp out on. The beds are not bolted down, so they slide about the bus as it moves, but this system seems to work remarkably well, all things considered.

120 In a turret off of the main Ravenclaw Tower is another tower for the Boy's Dormitory. Of all the towers in the castle those of the Ravenclaw House are the most 'out there' so to speak so there is a soft and constant whistle of wind through the shingles and cracks in the windows and doors. 'Rowena's Lullaby' is what the wind has affectionately been named by those sorted into her house. Bronze four poster bedframes are outfited with a lamp in the head board so that night reading can be done with ease. Each bed also comes with a 'back rest' pillow to also keep the studying student comfortable. Sky blue silk is the fabric and colour that drapes each student bed. Between each bed there is a large desk with a bookshelf in the wall above it. Also a small low dresser doubles as a night stand on the other side of each bed from the desk.

136 The Ravenclaw Common Room is one of the most airy rooms at Hogwarts. This wide, circular room's floor is covered in a deep, midnight blue carpet and the arched windows are hung with soft blue silk curtains. The high, domed ceiling carries a charm similar to the one in the Great Hall making stars glitter and move about on it reflecting the proper placements of the constellations according to the seasons. During the day, the Ravenclaw students have an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The room is furnished with comfortable tables and chair upholstered in midnight blue with white pinstripes and bookcases stand along the walls.

153 The noise begins to subside here as students get closer to the top of the stairwell. Looking up, one will usually see a few errant students dropping sparklers or stink-bombs directly down onto students on the lower levels, but it's not uncommon to be victimized by such trickery on this floor if one is especially unwary - say, a particularly distracted Hufflepuff with contraband candy. The scrape of the floors below and above create a contrast, as there is only one floor grinding above a person here, but many floors below, and the echoes of these sounds blend together uniquely here, giving a sense of a strange echo in the ears.
154 The trickery lessens substantially once someone has stepped further away from the stairwell. Mostly this is due to the fact that this floor is where the Prefect Bathroom and Ravenclaw Tower is. A large stained glass door leads to the bathroom in the northern wall. On the western wall there is a strange door, thick and sturdy, but with no handle or keyhole. Mounted on the knobless door is a bronze eagle knocker. When approached the Knocker gives a riddle and the door to the Ravenclaw Common room can only be opened with a correct answer to the riddle.

Steps swivel from one landing to another. The figures in the numerous paintings of all shapes and sizes that cover the castle stone walls look on to the ever entertaining hussle and bustle the moving stairs create.

A touch of a wand to the panel beside the elevator acts as a key to the locked device. 213 The transition between to the above ground world of the school and the dungeons below is striking. The area below Hogwarts might as well belong to a completely different building. Dark Stone makes up the floor, walls, and ceiling, the oily, flickering light provided by torches in the tarnished bronze sconces along the wall seems to be sucked away by the lurking darkness. Some corridors seem to have collapsed some time in the past, dead ending in rubble and dirt. Down others, the torches have gone out for good, forcing any adventurous student to explore by wand light. In contrast, the main corridor is well maintained, the floor slightly worn by the tread of generations of students to and from potions class.

257 A path leads from the Gates through to the huge bridge that travels across the lake towards the Hogwarts entry hall from here. The otherwise green hill isn't very steep, however, almost like it was designed for long walks and for the carriages. Another, steeper and well-trodden, path leads down to the lake shore and the groundskeeper's cabin, in a roundabout way to the west, while the lake itself is visible over cliffs hundreds of feet tall to the South.
258 Across the bridge and just outside the entry hall is the courtyard itself, a large rectangular area with roofed walkways along the outside, with benches to sit and arched open-air windows to give a view over the lake. Inside these walkways is a central open square just outside the doors to the castle, with a couple of larger benches to give students a place to sit.

A giant pendulum, about three feet wide and at least two stories tall, swings in the center of the room, counting the seconds, while the stones that line the floor and wall echo faintly.
347 The massive doors to the clock tower are typically left open during the day, and closed during the evening, so that students may use it to pass in and out of the castle. The floors near the massive, wooden doors are usually marked with mud, but the remainder of the room is kept quite clean. A single stained glass window, which stretches nearly all the way to the clock's face near the top of the tower, provides most of the light for the room. Although, when light is needed, the walls bear several candelabra sconces.

366 Here the stairwell bears with it the weight of everything going on above it, and the depth of activity on the lower floors. The noise here might drive even stalwart Gryffindors to distraction, and much courage may be required to make sure one doesn't miss one's floor with the rush of activity going on in this level. Besides the twisting pathways of the stairs, there are waves of students from the floors above hurrying at various times to get down to the main floor, and the rushes of students hurrying upward toward their classes or research. This is a floor where traffic jams are not uncommon, though for the most part students will give way to civility - if a teacher or House Boy is close-by enough to earn good behavior.

Stairs are visible above and below swinging past, students holding on stairways waiting for the arrival of their stair steps, lifting up onto a moving stairway, dropping down onto the floor below. 'Rowena's Lullaby' is what the wind has affectionately been named by those sorted into her house. Bronze four poster bedframes are outfited with a lamp in the head board so that night reading can be done with ease. Each bed also comes with a 'back rest' pillow to also keep the studying student comfortable. Sky blue silk is the fabric and colour that drapes each student bed. Between each bed there is a large desk with a bookshelf in the wall above it. Also a small low dresser doubles as a night stand on the other side of each bed from the desk.

812 The Ravenclaw Common Room is one of the most airy rooms at Hogwarts. This wide, circular room's floor is covered in a deep, midnight blue carpet and the arched windows are hung with soft blue silk curtains. The high, domed ceiling carries a charm similar to the one in the Great Hall making stars glitter and move about on it reflecting the proper placements of the constellations according to the seasons. During the day, the Ravenclaw students have an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The room is furnished with comfortable tables and chair upholstered in midnight blue with white pinstripes and bookcases stand along the walls.

829 The noise begins to subside here as students get closer to the top of the stairwell. Looking up, one will usually see a few errant students dropping sparklers or stink-bombs directly down onto students on the lower levels, but it's not uncommon to be victimized by such trickery on this floor if one is especially unwary - say, a particularly distracted Hufflepuff with contraband candy. The scrape of the floors below and above create a contrast, as there is only one floor grinding above a person here, but many floors below, and the echoes of these sounds blend together uniquely here, giving a sense of a strange echo in the ears.
830 The trickery lessens substantially once someone has stepped further away from the stairwell. Mostly this is due to the fact that this floor is where the Prefect Bathroom and Ravenclaw Tower is. A large stained glass door leads to the bathroom in the northern wall. On the western wall there is a strange door, thick and sturdy, but with no handle or keyhole. Mounted on the knobless door is a bronze eagle knocker. When approached the Knocker gives a riddle and the door to the Ravenclaw Common room can only be opened with a correct answer to the riddle.

883 In stark contrast to the plethora of grey and dull stone blocks that comprise the majority of the castle, the gallery is fashioned primarily from alabaster and a grey-speckled white granite. The room is rather long and narrow, but can easily accommodate a small crowd. The floors are made from highly-polished pine that is quite nearly a cream color. The speckled granite walls are always adorned by works of art crafted from the students, and occasionally the professors, of Hogwarts. Alabaster columns, which have been crafted into pentagonal-cylinders, run the length of the room at its center, and near each column is an alabaster bench. The room is lit from above, as light is allowed to enter from a rather sizeable glass ceiling along with sconces of bright light on every angle of the pentagon columns.
884 In each of the four corners of the room stands a suit of armor holding a halberd. Though very few have actually seen the suits move, they are known to shift in posture and position - particularly if a work of art is in jeopardy.

A touch of a wand to the panel beside the elevator acts as a key to the locked device. Despite its dilapidated state, however, the roof is stable.

Situated above the parapet, on each of the four sides of the tower, is a massive, pale clock face. The hands are over twenty meters long, and keep perfect time.

To the west lies the castle grounds, including a stone courtyard and walkways, though the grounds end abruptly after several hundred meters; a sheered line of cliffs, an abrupt line that has made a jagged cut across the landscape, extends to the north-west for at least half a league before ending at the base of a small hill. Beyond cliffs is a deep valley, Hogwarts Lake, and in the far distance a towering mountain. Opposite the Astronomy tower is the Ticking Tower; the top of the tower has four faces, and each features a massive, circular clock that keeps perfect time. From the parapet, the hands of the massive clocks may be heard ticking, despite the wind.

While these views are obscured generally, lovely stone gazebos called louvres have been constructed at three spots along the palisades. One to the south that has the best view of the Black Lake and cliffs. Another louvre looks over the viaduct to the southeast. A panoramic view of the Forbidden Forest can be gotten to via the northeast louvre. Raised palisade walkways are to the west and east.
1161 The view is interrupted by the Astronomy Tower, whose walls are missing several stones and are riddled with cracks, and the Owlery. The ramparts themselves have chest height walls to either side that create a six-foot-wide corridor. Crenellations rise up another three feet, making the walls almost eight feet tall at their peak. Strong winds tend to blow along the ramparts frequently, making it a particularly uncomfortable place to be during the winter, though the weather is frequently quite pleasant during even the hottest summer days.

Despite the length and chill of the gray stone, it is brightly lit from the window that fills the terminating wall. Diamond paned, with gothic arch styling at the top, the window sends occasional rainbows down the hall when the sun shines through the prisms just right.

Four long tables are evenly spaced with the heads of the table at the north and south of the room. Each table has a cloth runner down the center and a plush rug underneath of the different House colors indicating to which house the table belongs.
1420 The most westerly table is the Slytherin table. Beside them is the Ravenclaw table. The Gryffindor table is then between the Ravenclaw table to the west and the Hufflepuff table which is the most easterly table. One other table along the northern wall up on a dais for the Professors to sit at and look over all four of the other tables. Also on the dais is one lectern gilded in gold with an owl spreading it's wings at the top of the lectern. Candles line the tops of the owl's wings to illuminate anyone speaking at the lectern. A stool like protrusion comes out of the lectern as well as that's where the first years sit when they are sorted.

The main exit and entrance that leads to the Entry Hall is a large set of double wooden doors carved with vines and flanked by high stone pedestals each set with a small brazier above the stony 'H' carved in the pedestal. On the eastern wall is a much smaller door just next to the dais that's attached to the antechamber the first years come up from the lake through. Lastly one other door is set into the northwest corner behind the High Table.

The figures in the numerous paintings of all shapes and sizes that cover the castle stone walls look on to the ever entertaining hussle and bustle the moving stairs create.

A touch of a wand to the panel beside the elevator acts as a key to the locked device. 1568 The noise begins to subside here as students get closer to the top of the stairwell. Looking up, one will usually see a few errant students dropping sparklers or stink-bombs directly down onto students on the lower levels, but it's not uncommon to be victimized by such trickery on this floor if one is especially unwary - say, a particularly distracted Hufflepuff with contraband candy. The scrape of the floors below and above create a contrast, as there is only one floor grinding above a person here, but many floors below, and the echoes of these sounds blend together uniquely here, giving a sense of a strange echo in the ears.
1569 The trickery lessens substantially once someone has stepped further away from the stairwell. Mostly this is due to the fact that this floor is where the Prefect Bathroom and Ravenclaw Tower is. A large stained glass door leads to the bathroom in the northern wall. On the western wall there is a strange door, thick and sturdy, but with no handle or keyhole. Mounted on the knobless door is a bronze eagle knocker. When approached the Knocker gives a riddle and the door to the Ravenclaw Common room can only be opened with a correct answer to the riddle.

1609 Relative quiet prevails this near the top of the stairwell. Since there is only one thoroughfare under consideration here, only the rhythmic scraping of the lower stairway reaching the top floor's connective steps as far as the architectural sounds of Hogwarts reach the ears. Fewer students tend to wander all the way up to the top of the stairs unless it's necessary, or unless they are up to mischief. The latter causing the silence to be broken with the occasional cries of students who've become victims of stink-bombs thrown over the railing rising from below calling out the gross unfairness of their treatment.

He has a stack of Arithmancy books sitting next to him, the topmost open to a page of arithmatical proofs which he is laboriously working through on parchment. He's on page seven, thus far. After finishing one equation he stops, blowing out a slow breath through his nose as he sets his quill aside and gingerly rubs his wrist.

1730Having been wandering the halls for the past hour, attempting to kill time that simply seems to drag on, Alexander was utterly bored. While he had plenty of places to climb that would entertain him, he knew it would only be a few minutes before he groaned and went on to the next thing that possibly caught his attention. The only thing, or person rather, that really caused him to focus was currently studying and demanded that Alexander, "Leave me alone and let me read at least one chapter!". After getting knocked into by the fourth first year that squeaks out a terrified sorry before sprinting in the, usually, wrong direction, Alexander decided, to hell with it, and stalked his way to the 6th floor. Within a few minutes, he was striding into the east wing, very ungracefully sitting next to the Ravenclaw, the stack of books sitting between them and an innocent grin on Alexander's face, "Hey." Was all he said.

1733Tavish says nothing, at first, eyes cast downwards as he digs his fingertips into the muscles of his wrist and forearm. Finally though, he sighs and picks his quill back up. "Nearly made it through half a chapter," he says, in lieu of an actual greeting. "That must be a record for you." He absentmindedly flips through the last few pages of parchment, mouth thinned into a line. "Have you finished that treatise for Potions yet?"

1735Alexander watches with careful eyes, his eyebrow rising as Tavish focuses the most likely pain in his writing hand from, well, all the writing he has been doing. When Tavish replies with a snide remark, Alexander chuckles while shaking his head, but says nothing in return. He does, though, look away when the smaller male decides to ask him questions, "Of course I did." Is his short reply, looking up at the ceiling.

1737There's a pause, and then Tavish reaches into his bag without looking away from the parchments in his hand, wordlessly pulling out a thin leather portfolio that he smacks against Alexander's chest. "You're a terrible liar," he says, which isn't strictly true, but Tavish sees right through him anyway.

He mutters, staring at the portfolio with hate and disgust before chuckling, the sound low and soft, "To you? That is very true, it's nearly impossible." Alexander says with an affirmative nod, still holding the portfolio in the hand furthest from the culprit.

He holds up a hand then to signal for silence as he quickly jots down another line of numbers, then carefully rearranges the parchments together and tucks them inside the open book. "That'll do," he murmurs, mostly to himself, then starts to pack his books into his bag. "Only because I've seen you lie to the professors as many times as I have. You're terrible, you know."

1745"You--" Alexander gets cut off by the hand of silence, leaning back and chuckling to himself as Tavish scribbles down whatever he needs. Nothing but his breath comes from Alexander until he hears the words that notes Tavish is done, leaning forward again to complete his sentence, "Love me!" He finishes, handing back the portfolio as his partner in crime continues to pack. Alexander makes a 'tsk' sound, poking Tavish in the side, "I only get away with lying because you're there, don't act like it was all me." He waggles his finger at Tavish.

1747Tavish narrows his eyes at Alexander, but it fails by a large margin to be actually threatening. "Please," he says. "Don't try to pin all of your trouble making on me. I am a hapless bystander at the *very* least." He brandishes his quill at Alexander as if it were a sword, but it soon joins the rest of his things in his bag, which he promptly shoves over so he can flop down and use it as a pillow. "Really, I'm more a victim than anything."

1749Raising an eyebrow at the oh so threatening Tavish, Alexander simply shakes his head at his denials. "Like you would be a victim." Alexander states, laying down completely, crossing his ankles and putting his arms behind his head, "I'm more of the victim than you are, you bully me into actually completing my homework and then use me as a guard dog for your own selfish needs. So incredibly rude." Alexander teases, a grin spreading onto his lips with ease even though he knows Tavish is unable to see it

1751"You are entirely full of shit," Tavish replies, but he's smirking up at the ceiling as he reaches over to smack his hand against Alexander's stomach hard enough to sting. "You would've flunked your O.W.L.s if not for me, show a little gratitude!" He rubs his face with one hand, laughing breathlessly.

1753Goes to say something but the stinging in his stomach stops him short, a breath of air coming out as an 'oof' is all that is heard as Alexander quite literally rolls away from Tavish. "I need to go to the nursing wing." He moans in mock pain, reaching out with his foot to nudge the male before rolling back to be parallel to Tavish. "I already showed you gratitude by letting you hit me without kicking your ass." He teases, going back into his original position, a promise in his head to get the shit later.
